I think you should a video with a vocal that was recorded in untreated condition like a home studio cuz I think 90% of people watching don’t have good sound treatment

FACTS!!! ALL YTUBERS ALWAYS DO VIDEOS WITH ALREADY POLISHED VOCALS SO WHEN PEOPLE WATCHING SEE THEM DO THE BARE MINIMUM TO VOCALS, THEY TRY TO COPY WHAT THEY DO AND THEIR VOCALS NEVER SOUND THE SAME AS THERES. THATS WHY MANY PEOPLE KEEP TELLING ME TO START A YT CHANNEL AND SHOW MY TECHNIQUES FROM SCRATCH. IM REALLY CONSIDERING IT BECAUSE MOST OF THESE YTUBERS WILL NEVER GIVE OUT THEIR SECRETS. THEY FOOL YALL AND LET YALL KNOW WHAT THEY WANT YALL TO KNOW

I've been a bedroom producer my whole life, and honestly you aint going to have good vocals if the recording is trash, I'm sorry but its the truth. If the room is reflecting on the mic, it's never going to sound like a studio record. The best you can do is dampen the source as much as possible, and then use automation to EQ lines/words differently.

@@SweetPProductionsso u wanna learn Mixing and mastering from someone who had shitty gear or none, and recording from a bad room? Calm down, idiot. This man gives u free mixing tutorial, where others have to study and pay a lot of money for that. If your vocals sucks, buy a better mic and treat your room to sound nice and you will definitely get those vocals. It's 2024 and home studios are possible way easier than back in the days! I have been producing since 2007 and finally it landed on me. Mixing is a question of practice, practice and offcourse practice! I’m finally at a level that i’m confident. Taking in consideration that i mix and master in an untreathed room, i’m quite happy with my results. Knowing your gear is key and i also got rid of a lot plugins. If you overdo plugins on a channel hoping you can fix the crappy sound you overcooked you are doing it not right. I used to do this, but the key is being gentle on the channel. If one plugin ruins your sound the plugins after that are not going to fix the sound quality. I use a maximum of lets say 5 to 6 plugins on a channel and they all have a specific function. So after almost 20 years of mixing and mastering i feel i’m finally there….so never give up or quit. Keep your head up and you will become better over time

This is a very very subtle way of mixing it. It almost sounds the same. Which is obviously the right way in this case, cause the vocal was cleaned and edited already. Or at least it sounds like it was. I don't think Streaky wants to hide secrets it's more like showing you the proper steps of vocal processing instead of showing you how to fix a vocal because that is a very specific and individual process which depends on the respective problems of each recording.

Sound like a processed vocal to how it’s coming through sounding silky like there is no harshness to it like it was already de-essed.. sounded more muffled when you added the body to it too.. also the fact that you did a parallel process on a dry vocal before unmixed as you said is new to me because lots of time the vocal don’t have that much power and volume first before going into a parallel compression which it would of to eirther be turn up or processed first to hit the compressor unless you gonna turn that compressor threshold all the way to the floor with a ration of 10 or more 😂

The original vocal tracks sound like they already got some treatment on them. They are either layered tracks that you bumped down to one mono track or you got some auto tune on them and if it is a single track you can hear some natural room reverberation that you wouldn't want there, or would you? I'm not the expert.
But it does sound it is kinda phasing so I'm assuming you are double tracking it.

Especially vocals. That said, I may be as deaf as a quail, I can hear to like 5-6k, however, I can hear much detail around 1k. Could be the amount of wax in my ears. That said, being a a-technical type of person, can you determine where, at what particular range, distortion actually does sound, is perceived, ugly the most?
