Watched your video and followed along as I created the file in V Carve Pro. I've watched tons of videos over several years of learning how to use V Carve and my CNC. I have got to say for a Knuckle Dragger like me, You vids are the best i've come across. Keep up the good work and Thank You for your Service. I'm a Veteran and appreciate your contribution. Made these when I first got my CNC machine, followed along on your original video. I use them all the time and will have to make some more as an occasional "oops" in cutting has dinged up a couple, but absolutely saved me from a broken bit!
I appreciate the download. Look forward to following you on this adventure. I'm 73 and getting ready to retire so I thought this would be an excellent pass time and if I'm able to pick up a couple bucks after you get me on the right path 🤣 then that'll be even better. Worked a little longer than I wanted but my wife had cancer a couple years ago so wanted to make sure she was in the clear, thank God she's in remission. Again thank you and look forward to seeing you soon
Happy New Year Bro! Great instructional video. You got the New Year off to a good start. I am also a big proponent of making your own tooling & fixture, whenever possible, as store bought ready made stuff may not always work for what you need to do, and many times the quality is on the lower end of the scale.
frankman1958, That’s a great idea! Using a softer timber underneath can definitely help protect the spoilboard from cuts. It’s all about finding the right balance for your specific project and setup. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Ive had good luck spraying the glue with activator and then quickly setting the piece down, seems to setuo within 5 seconds or so even when its cold in my garage. I prefer that to clamps that way I dont have to worry about hitting the wingnut when I home the machine or when it goes home after finishing the cut. Thanks for the video!
I have Bob's KL733. I loaded the clamps gcode and it plunges the bit all the way down through my spoilboad and into my base board. I even tried opening the Vcarve file and then recalculating all the tool paths, still the same results. Help
rtcox307, it sounds like you may need to reset your z-zero my friend! Here's a video on how to do this that I think you'll find super helpful →ua-cam.com/video/UaDMzl_ZXVg/v-deo.html.
Hello. Purchased the file from the IDC store. I am using repertier ( have MPCNC Primo - marlin based). Any tips on getting the file to work with said sender? 😊
Was looking at the IDC Woodcraft store for the 1/8 compression bit and could not find it. Do you have a link to the 1/8". I have the 1/4" in my cart. Thanks Dave
I made those clamps a while back, and I'll make more, can't have too many clamps right? As far as people running into the clamps - it's only a matter of time, you will hit one sooner or later. Also they stack nice for thicker material.
Purchase your design myself but Used some birch plywood left over from another project it produce some very strong clamps thanks Gareth off to a good new year 🎈
Mohamed, it can be avoided but wood is sometimes not 100% the correct dimensions and you end up cutting deeper than the wood. That is ok though, a spoilboard is meant to get messed up!
Hey brother on that zero block when u zero out then z axis it has to be on the cnc table and not on the project... Cause when I do it on the project it just fly's above it and I just stop doing it....
Garrett and Dan, is this true that the Zero block should not be on the project but just on the table to zero the Z? Could that be the cause of mine not fully cutting through on the profile toolpath?
mattivirta, That's great to hear that you're getting into CNC woodworking! Making your own clamps is a fantastic way to customize your setup. There are many resources online with detailed instructions on designing and fabricating clamps that suit your needs. Good luck with your projects!

I think you're getting a little loopy, tossing your work around willy nilly. Did you just come up from the wine cellar again. Then you go accusing people of "stealing" clamps and selling them for $50. Go take a cold shower, if you have any left and a good swig of Apple cider vinegar to clear your head. Come back sober and do this again or someone is gonna put you in clamps.

Good work
Thanks!
i have a Bobs cnc and do not understand what settings i need to do, thank you
Robert, you are so welcome my friend. Glad to hear that this one helped you out.
Hi Garrett, i was wondering wy you dont pu a 4 mm soft timber onder de 3/4 inch bord also with the ca glu so you dont hit your beautiful Spoilboard?

Hi, dose medium CA glue have different drying time?
Yes. It takes a little longer which is what you want If you use the thin, it'll dry almost instantly

Hey Dave, sorry brother I don't sell a 1/8" compression bit. Just the 1/4" compression bit.
What about bump stops
Mikey, I am not too sure what you mean brother. You can definitely make bump stops on a CNC!

Link from website comes here to make clamps, video title says make clams, but video is of making a sign? WHY?
paulcharles1212, watch to the end brother! You use a very similar process to make a sign as you do to make clamps!

Why there are marks on the spoiled board, can this be avoided?!
Mohamed, it can be avoided but wood is sometimes not 100% the correct dimensions and you end up cutting deeper than the wood. That is ok though, a spoilboard is meant to get messed up!
I guess there not out of pine? Poplar maybe? Plywood?
Bill, Great question. They are made out of Pine. I picked this up from a big box store, look for edge glued panel. 16"x16"x3/4"

Why don't you cut them from thinner wood and make the protruding part separate and glue it on.
Hi Stoy. Thanks for the idea. There are so many ways to do this that I depend on comments like this to throw out other suggestions. Thank you.
Next video would be nice detailing " mouth clamps" . That's something you could use, Bro.
Yes mate make your own stuff
like I made my Cnc
Exactly!
I need a job in cnc wood machine
