After that, you can still lock the door with the fob. I do this when I leave my dog in the car so I can leave the AC running.
That double beep is incredibly annoying. Every time I hop out quickly to check the mailbox at the end of the driveway or run back into the house to grab something. I will try this.
All these negative comments really not needed. Give the guy a break. Also on the windows rolling down you can just let them halfway down by immediately releasing button after they begin to open and quickly push button again. The faster you do it the windows will be only partially open, if that's what you want instead of fully opened. Same for rolling up.
Totally agree with you in the useless negative comments. I wonder if the people commenting could make a perfectly flawless video that no one could criticize. I didn’t even notice the actually’s because I was paying attention to the great information he provided…
You can program your key fob to control your driver side seat/mirrors setting, key on engine off press your seating/mirror number hold till it beeps twice, when it beeps twice lock and power off key, move the seat mirror out of your setting and lock your vehicle and then hit unlock and see if it works. If it does you can do this for every key fob incase different ppl drive the vehicle with different seat/mirrors setting.
We have tried that and it just seems to go back to wherever the seat was last. Also, if we both get it and have our own fob in our pockets does it know which fob to set the seat for? My husband is 14” taller than me so this will be handy if I can get it to work!
@@5heinens It seems to work for me, but maybe check your owners manual to make sure it is an option on your car. You have to go through a programming step to link the seat memory # to the fob. I've also noticed the seat memory can be "forgetful" at times. I'm not sure how it tells the difference between 2 present fobs, maybe the one closest to the detector in the drivers side dash it goes with.
In my moms 2019 Ford Edge I have that programmed with the key she uses the most. What you do is unlock the vehicle with the remote, the press the number button for what preset seat you use.. You press in the button hold it until you hear the first beep, but don’t let get go of it until you hear the 2nd beep, the it will program that to the seat button you selected. So the. Just to test to make sure it works. What you can do is move the seat all the way back shut the door then press the unlock button on the remote and it will move the seat up! If your car battery or remote fob battery dies, you have an emergency key inside the fob, the plastic at the back of the driver door handle comes off and there is a key hole to open the door. If your remote fob battery dies you can still start your Ford by putting the fob near the push button start, sometimes inside the glove box or at the bottom of the storage bin at the rear of the console. The window remote is a great feature that you have to enable through the menus in the cluster and using the left navigation buttons on the steering wheel. You can also choose other options like only unlock the driver door. Enjoy!
An old Ford Trick that still works today is if you have the number keypad on the B-pillar of the driver door you can enter code to unlock doors and if you press together 7-8,9-0 it will lock the doors
the best part of that feature is that you can lock the doors with the key inside, and the car "knows" the key is inside and not outside the vehicle so it won't let anyone open the doors (but just make sure you remember to lock the doors with 7-8,9-0... otherwise you've got an unlocked car with the key inside, anyone can get in and drive away). I'm not sure exactly how the car knows the key is inside and not outside the vehicle, it must have multiple sensors and triangulates the position. I've tried many times to fool it, but it always knows where the key is. then when you come back, use the keypad to unlock the doors this is very handy for situations where you don't want to have your key in your pocket (i.e. you're doing something where the key could get lost or damaged). I usually leave my key in the trunk.
After entering your code to unlock the driver's door, press 1-2 and 3-4 together and all the doors will unlock. Pressing 7-8 anf 9-0 together will then lock all doors. Regardless of the key being in the ignition or not.
Well I mean it's not hard just using the driver or passenger door to lock the doors, or even better key pad, I mean got ways of locking the vehicle, an you may want the older but the new one blows it away especially LED lights an led strips looks more aggressive, I have titanium hybrid model! An the sync system is WAY better then the older one I heard I have 3.4 since the update like the 2020s

To add, most folks are unaware of the back up key that is located inside the fob, in case of dead vehicle battery. I've been a parts guy at a Ford dealer for 23 years, and get allot of folks that come in needing their fob batteries replaced, and 90 percent of them aren't aware of the back up key.
Some Fords with the smart key don’t have the window opening feature. I’ve got a 2013 Escape with the smart key and I can’t roll my windows down in that manner. Also not all the cars have the pad for locking the door on all the handles, again my Escape only has it on the front two.

I know the old school Volkswagen vehicles 2000 - 2010 plus model vehicles had the window roll down feature when you stuck the key jn the hole on the door and held it in the unlock position, all the window would roll down and vise versa and I always thought that was cool!!!! I wonder if the new models do that still

I have a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid (I love it). Recently my car had to have it's headlight, front fender, blinker light replaced because someone hit me (not my fault). I just picked it up and everything seems fine but as I made my stops on the way home I realized that my car "use to sense" the remote when I approached and unlocked automatically. Now it doesn't unclock automatically. I've got to dig into my purse, find my keys and click the unlock button. I loved it before when it unlocked automatically. Do you (or anyone) know how make it unlock automatically when my key is close to the car (like it use to). Thanks for any help, Sandy

It's where you program the remote starts as well. The sensor is right below the front cup holder
I just got a 2013 Fusion S, my car/ remote does not feature remote starting and it looks like you don't have the " switchblade " key but have a start button? I am going to try the window and door lock " hacks " you demonstrated, hope my car does have those features.
I like the part when u opened the windows with your keys.
I was surprised by that!
I will surely try that hack man!
Thanks for telling that man
I have a 2015 Edge SEL and only the Front Windows will open but will not close them. Is it a setting on the vehicle to setup this feature?
Question. Is there a way to only unlock the one door that you want to get into?
To add, most folks are unaware of the back up key that is located inside the fob, in case of dead vehicle battery. I've been a parts guy at a Ford dealer for 23 years, and get allot of folks that come in needing their fob batteries replaced, and 90 percent of them aren't aware of the back up key.
Got a Ford today just need this
my 98 maxima had the remote where if you held down the unlock button the windows would roll down, a great convenience for hot summer days
I have a 2017 mustang and it will not lock the trunk if the key is left in the trunk compartment it just peeps and.does not shut completely ..
Thank you hope this works on my 2016 edge
Some Fords with the smart key don’t have the window opening feature. I’ve got a 2013 Escape with the smart key and I can’t roll my windows down in that manner. Also not all the cars have the pad for locking the door on all the handles, again my Escape only has it on the front two.
not all vehicles are programmed with this feature. I have a 2015 F150 Lariat and it didn't have this feature until I went into the computer modules and added it to the settings. It's annoying if something is available why not just program it so they all do it.
@@joerogers7359 where exactly is the setting? Thanks
@@andyespenan5919 You have to use ForScan to make the changes. Do a quick youtube search and you will find info on it
Does anyone know about the key to 2016 focus SE key without the smark key ? Mine is different has three buttons for door lock , door unlock and trunk release . I'm now locked out of my car and waitiong for roadside assistance to show up . I know theere are different keys made some more basic than others . the more features more expensive . What kind of low basic less expensive key will unlock doors ?
Its called global opening, now Fords global window system. Had it back in the early 2000. Had people accidentally hit it rolled all the windows down when it was raining. Some vehicles you can turn it off and on.

Just a Couple of thing a trunk is a long appendage on an elephant’s face. The storage compartment at the rear of a car is called a “BOOT” yes boot.
Also the lid over the engine is called a “bonnet” not hud.
A hud is a cloth Cover connected to a sweatshirt that you pull over your head.
American's say hood , English say Bonnet.
Now I need to know how to do this for my 2011 Ford fusion hybrid!
The only thing(s) I didn't know was winding the windows down...that would be a cool thing to do on a hot day as you're walking back to the car. Will need to remember that. Why did they not say that that the dealership? Also didn't know you could shut off the remote start manually. I have a 2016 Ford Edge
Didn't know about the windows or button on the door handles, cool thanks
is that on the titanium package or any fusion? and is this only with a smart key? I have a 2017 fusion hybrid and I noticed I cant unlock my door just by having my key close to it. I gotta try the automatic start trick too

Nice video, Thanks. I wish you had added the physical door key use to the Video.
How do I disable the double hunk on my Ford Explorer. I'm sure my neighbors don't appreciate it at 4 o'clock in the morning
Awesome easy video, thank you
I cut keys and program car keys for a living as a locksmith. You would be surprised how many people don't know they have an emergency key, and hoe many know its there, but don't know the door has a manual lock under the cap on the handle 🤣
Thats why its going to be very interesting when the grid goes down and all technology seazes to exist, how many people will become lost and helpless
I'd say more than half are surprised when they find out. That's from poor sales people not doing proper customer hand over.
How do I update my map profile? Only has regular sync on radio
Intelligent unlock not unlocking only on driver’s side. Do you have a tip ? 2016 Ford Escape
Thank you
Thank you from Sénégal África
Id hope people knew how to remote open/close windows this been a thing on vehicles for at least 10yrs i know vehicles from like 2004 that do that
I mean as someone poor coming from a cheap 1997 vehicle I had no idea :/
Yep, my 2004 545i came with this feature from factory
@JOHN RUSSO not all vehicles are programmed with this feature. I have a 2015 F150 Lariat and it didn't have this feature until I went into the computer modules and added it to the settings. It's annoying if something is available why not just program it so they all do it.
@@joerogers7359 it has it you just didnt have it on your option list. Its not standard equipment on most vehicles you have to have a decent trim level. I also had a 2015 lariat and it did have it you just didnt have the option from your spec list
I didn't know it, I have a 20 fusion, I thought only Rolls Royce had it.
That is a beautiful fusion
I know the old school Volkswagen vehicles 2000 - 2010 plus model vehicles had the window roll down feature when you stuck the key jn the hole on the door and held it in the unlock position, all the window would roll down and vise versa and I always thought that was cool!!!! I wonder if the new models do that still
I love the window trick!!!
I did not know anything you had said! but did you know that there is a key in that remote? on the bottom, there is a key (inside) but the key hole is not super easy to find, it is on the bottom of the car door handle I only have seen this on the fusion, and I have not looked at other cars.
Edit: I haven't looked back at this in forever, you probably knew but if anybody does not I will leave it.
Had a 2013 and was leaving a friend’s house after doing some work and came out to my windows all rolled down. 😂😂😂. In other words be mindful to your key fob when performing activities
I frequently hit the panic button getting in and out of the car. It's a slightly older fob (2013). So, I disassembled the fob and taped over the contacts.
Very common problem. I've turned this feature off on many customers vehicles. They complain about the windows being down when they come out, most ask if it can be disabled.
Do you know if we can press some bottons to disactivate/activate the rf signal on the key?
Push as hard as possible until the $500 key clamshell opens and remove the battery. All Ford parts department guys love to laugh at people who want a replacement key, then faint when they get tbe price! LOL 🤣
If you type in your code on the door then press 5-6 it pops your trunk
which key combination “auto-sends” this months payment? Please do tell .. .. lol
You can stop the windows halfway by pressing the button 1more time , as they are going down.
So what about for a expedition 2020? I tried doing it and doesn’t work for me. For rolling down all the windows and the car has to be off? Or needs to be turned on in order to roll them down?

It's annoying if something is available why not just program it so they all do it. I think the car has to be off for this feature to work.
I have a 2020 Expedition Limited and it worked for me. The engine was turned off at the time.
There have been a few occasions when I found all or at least the rear windows fully open when I returned to my car. Freaked me out, now I understand there are some "hidden" features. But that didn't seem good to me.
I have a 2017 Fusion SE. I can't do any of that with my car is your car a SEL or Titanium model
The window thing works with my 2013 fusion SE 🤔
How do you change the battery in the key
When using the key fob do you know how to make it unlock only 1 door instead of all 4? (2020 Ford Fusion)
Try going to the left side menu on your dash
Can you tell me how to change the door code?
I have a 2013 ford fusion and had no idea my remote could do some of this... thanks
Hey, How do I unlock my Ford focus 2012 .remote not working, and I doubt it's remote starter battery. I guess it's the car battery
how to set up a new, replacement key fob???
The window hack is cool
Nice, my acura only rolls them down but won’t roll them up 🆙
Great, I did not know about the windows.
Glad this still works because the app to control the car & go times on the Energi doesn’t work anymore. Some BS firmware update rendered it useless & of course I’m out of warranty now.
I heard about the app not working anymore due to that update AND that they haven't bothered to fix it! Ugh!
Works for all Fusion model years?
No. Just higher trim levels.
Does this work with 2014 Ford fusion
Idk if you knew but if you take the key apart there's a master lock key on the inside
Hi, what do you do if you forgot the key inside the car and press the locking mechanism outside the car on the door handle? Then the car locks you out, because the car thinks you have the key in your pocket ??
