@pinkpugginz, usually the victims are the own children, and denial is what has kept them on a level of “sanity”. Also, the outright rejection of the mother shows “parent alienation”, a condition well established in marriages where an abusive and narcissistic parent rally the children through punishment or fear of punishment and reward as a way to make them hate the other parent, so they can have their way without the other parent ever knowing what’s going on.

It was obvious that there was a significant amount of information left out of that film. What I find almost comical is if they made this film mainly to prove their innocence, It was a very poor job of it. I still came away from this knowing that they were guilty of all this and much more. I find this very frustrating that it took this long for this information to come out and that the case is so old. So many of these people are dead now, making it near impossible to go back and re-investigate.

@@MondoBeno I agree that she wasn’t/isn’t a very happy woman but I definitely think it’s more complicated than outright hating her sons. The family dynamics were fashioned in a way that the sons were villainizing the mother and it was a very “us” (the boys and Arnold) vs her situation. When one parent encourages or allows the children to gang up on and ostracize the other parent resentment can understandably be created on the part of the parent that’s happening to. Children often have a very binary view of things and so it can easily become one parent being 100% good and the other being 100% bad with no in between or nuanced ability to want to find a middle ground. And that’s in situations not involving serious child sex abuse and charges. I imagine it was a horrible situation for her in terms of feeling entirely rejected by her children, which I think would be devastating for any mother. I think she enabled and turned a blind eye regarding what was going on with her husband’s crimes and that’s extremely upsetting, especially since her children could have been or possibly were victims as well. It’s all deeply troubling.

I don't know what the motive was in making the documentary, intended or not I think it opens eyes and makes people think. For too long this stuff has been tabu, kept quiet, people thought it happened rarely and only by some creepy uncle or a guy with a puppy and a van. This was a wealthy well educated family living in a wealthy part of the world. A mom and dad, a couple kids, celebrations, lots of joking around. They don't look like the damaged family they really are. This happens everywhere, it isn't uncommon. Again not sure the film intended this but the attempts to create doubt only made me more sure. The people defending felt like apologists. The boys were obviously manipulated to hate their mother, A even manipulated his own brother, that man damaged so many people, and all those Childrens childhoods ruined, so sad, all of it just a big mess.

I am glad she has the house to herself and I hope she found some peace in her life. After watching what was left out I am still on the fence about why it was left out, I left the doc feeling very sure they were both guilty. I thought in the beginning the son said he died of a heart attack? I was a little angry he killed himself, left everyone else with the pain, grief, and damage. He could have written a book or helped police and early intervention specialists so they could understand the pedo mind, learn how they manipulate and groom, figure out how to catch or prevent this from happening. Instead he checked out. This really happens and it happens a lot, and these people have friends, communities and have even more access via the internet. This is awful, children should be cherished and protected.

Even before viewing this part, I did not believe what the family was saying. The only one that was somewhat believable to me was the mother, but I believe she knew much more than she claimed. To me, it was clear that all three brothers were abused, and were in denial about what happened. It is highly unlikely that an admitted pedophile with unfettered access to children would never commit any crimes against those children. Though I am unsure of the scope of what happened, I was fully convinced of their guilt after watching the documentary, and this clip left me even more convinced of that fact.

I fully agree with the points raised in this video. I also wondered whether or not the director asked the brothers point blank if they were ever molested or groomed by their father. The second point, the one victim interviewed on camera was filmed in such a way that is designed to discredit him. In journalism, all subjects (especially on such a subject matter) should be interviewed sitting up as a sign of respect to the interviewee and the craft. But half lying down is a silent way to discredit the interviewee. It gives the viewer the impression that the person isn’t taking his own abuse seriously, so neither should the viewer. Also, he never asked the interviewee, why he never told anyone about the interview until the police came. This would have given insight into the secrecy abuse is surrounded by especially in the 1980s when talking about it was discouraged.

Like Apple TV's documentary, The Line, (about Navy Seal Ed Gallagher, who killed the 17 year old captive and enjoyed shooting at citizens, children). The Line was terrible because the filmmakers did NOT question the insane things done and said! They didn't challenge Gallagher, and lots of people thought he was innocent or that killing civilians is no big deal.

Reduced to a family whipping boy. That doesn't infrere that she is free of criticism. She obviously had some abstract understanding that her husband was not the man she assumed, and to keep suburbia family cohesion she turned a blind eye. There is also something very anti-female that runs through the majority of the family. I feel like they have reduced their mother down to a Jewish mother stereotype and their is a disdain they have towards her, but this malice is lacking towards the father. its not a question of who do you believe
it is a question of which pieces are true and which aren't. At least some of it is true, but not all of it is true if you ask me. "Trumped up charges" could mean they were accused to raping 50 kids but actually only raped 49, not really worth mentioning. But also "Trumped up charges" could mean the police saw the CP, and saw there was a class, and just assumed the kids got raped each time they were there. I think the answer is between those two extremes. Plea deals on guilty subject don't represent the truth by design, it's either less than what really happened so they take it, or way more than what really happened so they don't try to fight it. The truth is in the middle.

I find it hard to believe. Seems like they made an example of this family. Made it more sensational than it really was. I Believe a lot of people have sick fantasies, fetishes but they don't act on it. How many guys look at porn but they do not become rapists. What got me convinced is that they were innocent is the fact that none of these boys had bloody pants that a mother would find doing their laundry. No evidence of rape. Rape is violent. Id any of these boys were raped, they would never go back to that class. My piano was a strict nun and she cut my nails so close to the skin, I never returned to that class again. I begged my mom I never wanted to go back and that's just fingernails. The victim in the interview who said he remembered through hypnosis but the psychologist denied he was ever hypnotized?!?? Honestly think these victims are mentally unstable and have the sadistic tendencies themselves. I feel bad for this family.

On the other hand not only their lawyer admited they both addmitted but also arnolds brother and jessies uncle who said that jesse admitted to him that some of it eas true...

My full comments are not being permitted to be posted here. They are less than 10K in words. Censorship 🤔
This 10 min video is filled with absolute rubbish.
All of these issues have been addressed on freejesse site, with supporting legal documents.
    Eg.
    1. The suggestion that the victim who was interviewed in the film got it wrong that he was hypnotised is also inaccurate. (@7:29)
    a. If he did get it wrong, his credibility on the alleged abuse is equally wrong.
    b. In any event the evidence is not inconsistent. Jesse's conviction was in 1988. So the events alleged to have occurred would have preceded that date. The affidavit in this clip was signed in 2004 by the psychiatrist.
That victim was a child when it allegedly happened. He would have seen multiple psychiatrists. Just because one of them signed an affidavit 16 years later saying he wasn't the one who used hypnosis, it doesn't mean it didn't happen.
    2. The film did not create a 'false impression that the second search revealed nothing'.
@8:09 the police evidence was that "foot high stacks of pornography" were all around the house.
This is so grossly exaggerated by the police that it is a blatant lie.
@8:22 the list of items not to be returned to the Friedman's following a search were some film reels. Magazine covers. Some porn mags. In a house of 4 men.
    Not multitudes of child porn.
The photos do not imply nothing was found. They simply juxtapose the police officers gross exaggeration.
    3. The suggestion that Jareki was dishonest about the number of witnesses he spoke to, in this video, is again inaccurate. As is the suggestion that he avoided speaking to the others.
Two of the 13 victims at that time were represented in the documentary. Jareki said he spoke to more than 3 in an interview, and 5 in an affidavit.
So how is this inconsistent? He spoke to about 5 victims. Which is more than 3. And 2 of them agreed to go on film.
People with implanted memories become victims. The memories are as if they are real. Which is why it is VERY dangerous to question children like this. This is now a heavily regulated area of law because of the damage done to so many children in so many cases. There is a large volume of studies conducted on this phenomena. It is completely unsurprising that the other victims he contacted wouldn't want to talk to him and reasonable that he stopped at 5 because that was enough for a documentary of this length.

No. The most important question is not ”what was left out” its what is the evidence. Thats the most important question. And there were none. Just two people scared n facing lifetime in prison with zero chanse of getting a fair trial. A mother n wife who demanded they confess in order to 1: save the son 2: get a leniant sentance.
This clip is just nonsensical. The documentary never stated that there were no child porn in the house at all. It contested the false claim that it was overflowing the house.
