    Had my first chemo treatment and wasn't prepared for what my body was about to go through. The day of treatment and the following four days I experienced a literal nightmare of side effects. I felt like I was being tortured, I had no escape from the nausea, intense pain, or complete confusion. I had never in my life felt anything like that. (I've had 2 births, kidney stones, gallstones, broken bones so I'm familiar with pain.) I wish that my medical team would have prepared me better as to what I was about to face.
    I'm sending out healing energy and love to all going through this. I hope for only the best for those fighting this battle.

    I am 58 and I have never been ill. I blacked out driving home one evening. Once at the hospital I was diagnosed with brain cancer. I had the tumor removed with the best surgeon from Dana Farber and she removed it to perfection. That was nothing compared to the chemotherapy and radiation. I have never felt so poorly from anything than this. I am doing this with the hope of getting 3 to 5 years of life and to be there for loved ones.

    If you have cancer you're not alone. There are many of us out there. Be strong because attitude is everything. The human immune system does not recognize cancer. This is why your body manufactures white blood cells and killer T-cells. Killer T-cells kill cancer while white blood cells clean up the mess. NOTE: Its attitude that controls the manufacturing of T-cells and white blood cells. The more you laugh the more good cells you'll produce. So laugh every day, live in a state of thankfulness, and remember this, cancer loves sugar and hates oxygen. Just a few things we all can do to help with our doctors' treatments. P*E*A*C*E

      @@robnorman4974 I think I contracted covid after my third session as was ill for 10 days to the point I didn't want any more. I had 4th and final session of aggressive chemo and was clear for 10. months - now they tell me my cancer is back in swollen lymph nodes but told them no way having any more chemo nor radiation. I'll deal with it my way and maintain quality of life for as long as I can. Only people who've had cancer and chemo know how horrendous it is! The chemo damaged my lungs (emphysema) and I struggle daily with reduced quality of life due to shortness of breath on exertion and how it limits my mobility. Not risking worsening and will work at maintaining what quality of life I have with vitamins and mineral supplements, acupuncture, and Rife/Solfaggio music/vibrational sound therapy. Plenty of helpful stuff on UA-cam x

    • @EpworthHealthCareAU
      @EpworthHealthCareAU  4 роки тому

      Hi,
      Chemotherapy side effects may affect hair or skin, this is because chemotherapy destroys rapidly growing cancer cells but can also destroy some rapidly growing healthy cells such as hair or skin.
      Patients undergoing chemotherapy may experience side effects differently & it's important to speak to your oncologist or a medical professional to discuss individual factors & potential side effects.

      We're really sorry to hear about your brother. As each case of cancer is different, you'd be best to speak to your brother's medical team to find out a bit more about this hole.
      If you'd like to connect with others who may have experienced something similar, you can join the conversation on The Village - thevillage.epworth.org.au.

So i am puzzled and i got chemo last year in 2020 and i went back to eating alot of sweets cause i have been addicted to sweets and now one of the gct tumors grew, now they want me to do chemo again to try to shrink the tumor on my stomach which is as big as a apple, i think., Can anybody help me with this? You need to start eating healthy. Sugar is bad for your health. You need to check your sugar levels. Diabetes is not fun. You forgot to tell your doctor you're addicted to sweets. Stop eating sweets before is too late.

      From what I have read there is no such thing as an anti cancer diet. You need to try and eat healthy during chemo (and anytime actually), and a lot of sweets is not healthy. If you can, eat sweets in moderation and just as a treat. But I doubt that the eating of sweets has anything to do with your tumour. (I eat virtually no chocolate and no sweets and it hasn't stopped my cancer, but as I eat healthy I am still quite fit and well).
