    Good morning! Whew! This is a long educational video answering all the questions that came up from the last hair-related video. Questions like: Is apple cider not a solution to synthetic hair? What about human hair ? Is it safe? Where does it come from? What alternatives do we have if synthetic hair is bad?
    It took me literally about 4 days to edit this video and I hope you find it worth it. Looking forward to your thoughts on the issues raised.

      @Kenton-Habiba Great job Habiba! I've often wondered how Africans braided hair with extensions BEFORE SYNTHETIC was invented. I thought maybe it was with horse hair....
      🔹️I hope the companies using Banana fibre can patent their work and create the wealth our Motherland needs, without exploitation from NON Africans.
      🔹️Another important topic you could do is HAIR COLOR. Some contain lead.... Btw, I think you have enough videos like this to create a PLAYLIST called: Things that affect our health... Keep up the good work!💙

      I am new to your channel and am amazed to its content. I absolutely agreed with you about synthetic hair. I just removed it from my braids. I only use a tiny bit of synthetic hair to braid my hair before applying human hair extensions. I am Christian and been addicted to human hair many years. I love it and have been blessed by God in many ways that I also believe hearing someone ‘ hair isn’t a problem. However, I have been avoiding Chinese products as they are not good. I have been doing my own natural hair oil instead by chemicals stuff which aren’t good to black hair.

    Ladies, we should be so grateful to be getting this information. Her first video inspired me to trash all my hair extensions. My husband helped me and it was a very emotional experience because I was so upset that I had been duped for years! I’m now just rocking my own hair and it is beautiful. I did the big chop last year after stopping relaxers in 2022. For me, this is a big wake up call and I’m embracing my own hair. I hope others do the same.

    I have a huge problem with the popularity of human hair lace wigs. They have created a social crisis where black women of varying income groups thrive to own these wigs. The poor ones get involved in compromising relationships to be able to acquire these wigs. Also, it places ridiculous pressure on young black women where TEENAGERS want and wear lace wigs to school. Black children should be wearing their own hair to school. They need to be taught to love their hair and learn how to manage THEIR God given hair and not feel UGLY when they see their hair. If you wear a lace wig ALL the time, I doubt you will like your own hair (natural or relaxed) very much. Your own hair will 'fustrate' you.

    • @denyshadials5702
      @denyshadials5702 21 день тому +3

      It’s because teenagers aspire to look like their adult counterparts. Their counterparts are wearing wigs, extensions, and straight hair. If we show them that they don’t have to change their texture and length just to grow up or be attractive, it’ll disappear. Or at the very least they’ll just flat iron their own hair.

      I agree with all you said and also it is disturbing to see because young girls are using glue and starting the process of using toxic chemicals at a young age. As a part-time entertainer I used lace wigs with clips, no glue, but it irritated my hairline. One day I decided I had enough and found a way to use half-wigs so I didn't disturb my hairline. I am also disturbedto see young girls wearing fake nails at young ages. There was a time when girls had to wait until they were grown to look grown. There will be a generation of young women withscalp, hair and nail problems at younger ages.

    When a person’s livelihood is threatened they will go against the grain to protect his or her income source even though they know there’s an adverse reaction. Am I the only person who feels it's weird to wear someone else's body part? Think about it, it's barbaric. I think we know it's not right, but because of us not being ok with our own natural hair, we make excuses why it's OK to keep doing it. I am 100% sure some of these hair comes from dead people. I say this because it is easy to do and humans will make money anyway they find a way to do so.
    Habiba your hair looks beautiful. Maybe we should spend more energy developing more hair styles with our natural own hair. Women with daughters are the first to stop wearing weaves. Your daughters are going to look at you as being beautiful and they see themselves as ugly. Then as soon as they get older they are going to follow your example.😢😢😢

    • @kostak8175
      @kostak8175 28 днів тому +6

      @@Kenton-Habiba that is a life or death situation. Beauty does not count in that regard. I can understand if a woman has alopecia or if someone loses their hair because of chemotherapy, but this casual fashion choice is in no way necessary. It's so bad that some women can't go without a weave. They think they look ugly without it. It also causes other races to think that black women with naturally long hair and different texture hair are
      also wearing weaves. Bleaching the skin and wearing weaves is confirming what other people think about us........"we are not beautiful" what are we te aching young black girls? Maybe I might not feel so strongly if the women were matching their own natural hair, because let's face it we are not the only ones wearing clip- ins, but wearing hair from a whole other race of people? Just can't accept that.

      Donors gave *permission* for their parts to be used with the *expectation* of saving someone’s life. Cosmetology school for licensing will not stop carcinogenic use of beauty supplies. That's why hair salons still provide relaxers, Brazilian straightening, and also braid with synthetic hair and use other carcinogens. We don't need government to take away our heritage of braiding and make us go to school and pay for a license in braiding. Hat was passed down to us. A braiding license to educate us about products they will still allow in salons, ou the market, absolutely not. They need to crack down on the chemical production of carcinogens hair products, those who sell the products without labeling the risk. Not the people who buy the products as that is their choice if its freely on the market. We have to educate ourselves and may a personal decision. You have provided information which is a starting point but we as a people have to continue to educate ourselves. Respectfully my opinion. Thank you for sharing.

    Great information, I'm a braiding hair wearer addict and hopefully one day I will embrace my short fine strand wavy thin hair and leave the chemical laced synthetic hair alone.
    However, I do soak it in apple cider vinegar and never burn it, so the hair doesn't bother me anymore, it used to before, when I didn't use the apple cider vinegar method.
    Speaking on these chemicals they are also made up in our clothes, shoes, hair scarves and regular scarves & them eyelashes that everyone is wearing these days, plus makeup & other products we use on a daily basis, internally and externally , when you look at everything we wear and use, you'll find out that the majority of it all has these chemical components in them. I have clothes that itches the hell out of me and find myself taking them off for relief.
    Maybe we should make a movement on removing all these chemicals from all our products and in our environment period!
    The powers 😈 that be knows what they are doing to us and our health and environment. They know😈 🤔😡😤😢

    Also Habiba we can grow our natural hair into natural locs or sisterlocs, and learn how to embrace and take care of the hair that naturally grows from our heads. I've been 100% naturally loc'd for 2 years and 8 months now making the decision to stop relaxing my hair years ago. The loc community also has been plagued with these hair companies selling synthetic locs. Over the past 5 years locs has become very very popular. People have been buying and installing faux, instant synthetic locs. So I agree with you that we need to do our research! White American women use wigs and hair extensions also. It's a big business for them also. I wonder are the companies using toxic chemicals in the wigs and extension made for them? Thanks for your knowledge.

    Thank you Habiba. Keep these information coming. People need to be informed. I’ve been growing out my natural hair since 2019. I’ve gotten negative comments from black women “it’s not your hair” I really don’t fault them because it’s out there that black hair cannot grow. I’m living proof that black hair can grow. I use all natural ingredients in my hair. I don’t use store bought I make my own. I wear twists and box braids without adding any synthetic or human hair. I’m a nurse and I already knew that the synthetic hair is toxic and some of the so called human hair is not 100% it’s mixed with some other fibers. I’m glad that you’re educating us on this topic. I hope there’s more to come because it’s not just the hair. Products we use are toxic. I just learned that one of my favorite lotions I use to use has included hormones. We have to read these ingredients and do our research to better care for ourselves 🙏

    I just want to thank you for this. Something made me question the safety of the synthetic braids I love wearing and of course knowing how cheap it is and where it is imported from me skeptical that companies would go out of their way to provide a safe product for people. When I read that back of the product about this hair that has all thaws features it just felt like they would use any chemical harmful or not to achieve a certain look or feel. It’s horrible that you try to eat healthy, stop relaxing your hair, only to find that the alternative is just as harmful. I have to get comfortable wearing my own natural hair. I can’t blame anyone else for that.

    Great to see part two of the series, now you have to do a follow up part 3. As someone who has braided for over 25 years, this is great to know. The repeated exposure to kanekalon via one's hands should have labeling. I'm handling a pack of Black&Gold now. I'm going to have to research alternatives to this, bc I can't rock with that. This has direct correlations to higher cancer, fertility/reproductive issues as well. Thank you. 🐈‍⬛🌻🪮🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It highly important to know the truth the fact ls about hair extensions, weaves,wigs, and chemical relaxers that were used for years! I used to use hair relaxers and stopped in 2013! I wear my hair in it's natural state in 2 strand twist. I have been chemical sensitivities since 2013 from being diagnosed. No chemicals in my home, everything I eat is whole foods in I buy organic everything and cook food myself. Everything around us is toxic but I don’t wanna be BAKLD HEAD😂I’m looking for other alternatives now because my hair has literally been coming out and the main thing I was doing was wearing crochet braids the last 2yearsa I had way more hair on my head than I believed . I look at my hood hair pics and should have been proud to wear it now I gotta find ways to disguise my hair falling out .😢 all I been wearing was synthetic hair because it’s cheaper ,you get more and it’s easier to maintain.
    By weeks end I’ll have a new look with either human Afro hair micro twists or that better braid banana hair 😅I’m ready for sure

    I have a question for those who can’t grow their hair long even though they know they look better with longer hair ( and no , not self hate 🙄) then what? Not everyone has the patience to wait 2, 3 and 5 years to grow their hair… then what ? Not saying don’t wear your real hair but not everyone can grow long hair..sorry I know people that have worn braids for years and nothing ever happened to them 🤷🏽‍♀️

It's been years since I've visited a nail salon but the smells of the chemicals were so strong! It can't be healthy especially for those who get them done often or are nail techs. The fact that they wear masks for protection is a clue!

    All I can say is Wow! That felt like a gut punch! As black women we pride ourselves on the fact that we can transform ourselves in the kitchen with a few dollars worth of braiding hair,nevertheless the facts cannot be ignored. Also there is a real economic factor, a lot of braid shops provide mega needed income for a lot of women . There are young girls making six figures traveling to do braids, also high school students who recognize they can help their families by braiding. I think you have uncovered a real conundrum. We will go through a mourning process and come out on the other side,trust and believe!!! p.s. I became a fan of yours way back when you did the posts about seeing your father after 30 years , then you disappeared. Love your content, some of it is lighthearted,some deep,like the post about going to college in spite of being told you may not belong in certain places. • @thrie8149
    @thrie8149 23 дні тому +1

    Thank you so much for the follow up. I shared your previous video with a number of people who were unaware of the toxicity of synthetic hair.
    On a couple of points, regarding us, the spiritual aspect of wearing some other humans hair. Are there something known as, transference.
    Just as we are taught in elementary school not to ever use anyone else’s comb or use someone else’s toothbrush, etc. are those who are believe in and are aware of energy which in most cases cannot be seen by the human eye, are aware that such things exist.
    Just as it’s known that if you have two or three women that live under the same roof together, after a while, their cycles actually will automatically follow one another because they are in close proximity to one another.
    The medical profession unfortunately is of a different intelligence and understanding on that level, as there have been reports of people receiving organs from a donor, who maybe drank alcohol, or was a smoker or always eat chocolate or some such thing, something that the recipient never experienced until they receive the organ of that particular person, but then suddenly had the same cravings to possibly drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes or and that’s been a sign that’s been scientifically proven.
    So hair works the same way it is an organ which has energy or emits energy or collect energy.
    Jewish women have worn wigs for hundreds of years that is true but, if you’re aware, Jewish women will not wear hair from China or India. They will only wear hair from their European ill counterparts.
    Anyway, very fascinating discourse on human hair. And thank you so much for bringing this information to the fore.
    … and also. to be a licensed hairstylist in the United States anyway allows the client if any damages have been incurred during their appointments with said Hairstylist, you would be able to hold them liable in the state which they practice their occupation.
    Going to an unlicensed Braider or , Hairstylist leaves the client with no recourse if they suffer any damages to their hair or their person, etc.
    Also, someone who is not licensed really has no idea as to the structure of hair, follicles, etc. a Braider may be able to wash and condition your hair, but that braider will not be able to trim your ends because she’s not licensed to do so and more often than that you know she doesn’t trim hair, which actually promotes healthy hair when done so every several weeks.
    So these people may have to bear an expense to get their licenses, however, they’re charging people hundreds a pop, per client of dollars to provide services of installing human hair😮
    So I don’t think it’s a matter of them having to pay a lot of money to take coursework and become licensed in this profession, I think it’s just a very easy way to make money without having to learn the craft and work of that profession.
    Easy $$$ 😏
