This manwha missed on a good opportunity, when that old man mo was talking about an elixer/potion that could erase someone's memory/personality. The mc should have overheard that Convo and used that thing to change the old man's memory and say "I'm your illegitimate grandson and my sister is your illegitimate granddaughter, you should help us and protect us since we're the only remaining heirs of your family"--since he already killed the original son with one slash, the original grandson in the earlier part of the story and annihilated the 10 elders before going to the mansion. That would've been a better plot. Since our mc likes to say he wants to protect his sister but likes to piss off strong families/enemies.
Seems this would clash with his morals in other parts of the story. On the alignment scale, he’d definitely fall to neutral leaning good. I’m only an hour or so in (he asked consent from an unconscious girl and decided that silence WAS consent, fully against my previous statement), but it seems like messing with memories is a line difficult to cross for him. Could be wrong.

One example is the Sun family in this story… that Sun guy is going around challenging people to fights but then when he loses it’s “the Sun family won’t let this stand”. The Sun family should teach their kids some discipline, but instead they want to go kill the Ye Tian who was challenged by the Sun guy first. Other stories will have a group of guys kill someone’s whole family, but then when the survivor kills the murderer for revenge that family is outraged how dare they come after our family. Is hypocrisy a principle for these writers or something -_-
