I decided to create a single piece of music to encompass the concept of Bloodbath Diablos, rather than split it into a two-phase fight. "RAGE, anguish, melancholy, violence, devil (diablos), nemesis" were all concepts that drove the musical ideas forward.
Heavy and intricate percussion drive the entire piece, with instruments the MH series uses to recall the desert landscape. The opening theme (which returns later) is a chord I made-up of two tritones (historically called "the devil in music" in the Middle Ages), stacked by semitones on top of each other. On a keyboard, the fingers split appart like two uneven horns. Loud, dissonant, repeated notes are violently blasted in the horns, with menacing bass parts accentuated by the male choir.
I find this fight quite similar to bull fighting, and I thought it would be appropriate to introduce Spanish undertones in the middle. Castanets and flamenco-style guitar parts mix with the heavy orchestra and change the pace.
It then leads to a melancholic section, where things might get personal between the beast and the hunter. There's a sense of emotional depth that seems to interest fans of Bloodbath Diablos. It's a demon incarnate that survived, that wants to hunt the hunter. The sound is distorted, the threat returns with slamming repeated notes before it loops.
Hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think!
Bloodbath Diablos seems like a calm and reasonable person with this theme.
Sorry to disappoint. :/
Do you really find it calm compared to the original?
@@nwsiaki I think it's meant to be a God of War reference
Wut, no, I was making a God of War Ragnarok joke... ua-cam.com/video/t0selbKS39A/v-deo.html
I LOVE IT.
It starts with an overwhelming emphasis of VIOLENCE, and the bits like 1:27 I really love. Gives me vibes of a being of high regards like, well in this context, a Tyrant King of the Desert.
I really feel it captures the characteristics that define the Massacre Demon, the King of the Deviants, Bloodbath Diablos.
Oooh I see!! My bad - I was starting to wonder… how is this calm? Is it just me? :)
Edit: I watched the link you posted, thank you, it was hilarious lol
Good to see you mr shark how's your vacation going
The epitome of "URGE TO KILL, RISING..."
I can imagine a quest with this theme not being about slaying or capturing the monster, but just surviving it until the time limit is up and help arrives
For me the best part of this theme is this 01:47 to 02:33 for me this part is exciting man this is something I wanted in Monster Hunter themes I can interpret that in these minutes of the theme our hunter is determined to put an end to this threat once and for all, the last deviant and the most dangerous of all will be defeated 01:47 bloodbath diablos perspective 02:09 hunter perspective
@@canal25bits2nailed it
it already feels like that already if you spawn in next to it before g5
finally some tunes to play while fighting ex bloodbath
i am not even through the entire song yet and I already love this.
The unsettling trumpets being somewhat discordent in the beginning giving way to a more triumphant arrangement of violins followed up by the trumpets again is amazing
Really wish we see this guy again in a future MH game. It is the only Diablos version I like
This piece is absolutely magnificent. One could consider the entire devil theme of the mad beast to reflect on man, those who effectively created the monster. Makes me look inside at the hunter I am. Splendid work, you do amazing stuff.
I haven't fought BB diablos, but my goodness you could convince me this is the original
You don't hunt Bloodbath Diablos, you *survive* Bloodbath Diablos.
I like the spanish guitar in the middle of the theme. Gives me Puss In Boots vibes
I love this so much. The absolute MURDER vibes mixed with touches of pained elegance. Its absolute genius to use the "devil's tritones" for the composition for something called DIABLOS. The slightly calmer segments remind me slightly of monoblos' music from the first game which was mostly ominous intensity. This track is perfect for fighting a pain-maddened beast.
I’m glad you approve! I was waiting to see what you would think! 👍🏻
I couldn't help but notice an inspiration from Hans Zimmer's 'The Kraken', with stingers like at 0:46. Which makes sense as Bloodbath is a beast only of legend, due to how fee have survived it.
You are what you listen to I guess! Although it’s been forever since I’ve listened to that soundtrack, it may have been a part of how I conceived that moment in the track.
The leitmotif of Astera really does this justice.
this goes so hard

@@canal25bits2you nailed it
Beautiful theme! I love how if fluctuates between pure terror and a slow tension. Reminds me of GR Highlands theme from frontier.
The part from 0:49 - 1:25 is just beautiful by the way, love the guitar solo (or whatever instrument it is, I'm definitely wrong).
It is a guitar solo, you're right! :) Well, a fake one that I play on my keyboard, but still!
I can't get tired of listening to this
Such a good theme
Wow! Again, this piece delivers. I've actually never played a game with bloodbath in it, but from all I've heard, this represents it very well. I like all the layers of brass clashing with each other, especially combined with the percussion. It gives the piece both a very heavy and very frantic tone. It's like I can hear the beast crashing around and the hunter desperately trying to avoid it. I also really like the addition of a calmer moment with strings. Just a bit of a moment to catch your breath. Very well done!
One must ask? Do hunters feel fear of what they've created, because what they have created fears and certainly hates them to a horrid degree.
a story with no heroes, no happy ending only bathed in the blood of many things in its wake. its name is bloodbath.
every human it sees it views as a threat to its life wouldnt you if one ripped off what was effectively the equivelent of an arm per say it's main method to defend itself.
A herbivore turned into this.. and people say going vegan is good for you.. and with this the end of this comment is here.
Wake up Nathanaël posted
this is extremely good but I can't help but always feel that second phase theme always feels vital to the bloodbath experience
Video game music is powerful because it’s tied directly to experiences. It’s often why we get so attached, and it’s almost impossible to separate. Those themes are the soundtracks of our lives, our adventures! What you’re saying makes perfect sense.
Nathanael Wsiaki
this theme is more suitable for bloodbath diablos monster hunter frontier version
The Spanish Flamenco is godly, mixed with the Middle Eastern vibes, I can't help but picture Al Andalus and a battle in the Reconquista rather than Bloodbath Blos tbh
Glad you like it! It was fun to explore and play.
@@nwsiaki The Flamenco and Middle Eastern singing are an S tier mix, it's surprising but makes a lot of sense to mesh the more I think about it :p
Bloodbath is my favorite mh monster always has been always will be
Thank you for this
Good to see you again mr Nathanaël
Awesome work mate! Huge production :)
Gonna be honest the beginning confused me greatly at first (and by beginning i mean from 0:00 - 0:30 and then once it shifted tones i went “Oh Hell Yeah!”
Edit: Great piece of work btw, love your music
Ya that makes sense haha
The beginning is not really major or minor (just a bunch of that “devil in the music” interval), and the rhythmic feel of the music changes (the meter). It’s quite the mess, your ear was right to be confused :)
The theme of angered deliberacy permeates this as much as the original. Here though, there's a sense of story and dignity that translates Bloodbath as a fighter, a warrior, despite it's indiscriminate brutality.
4:52 onwards sounds eerily similar to the theme of Supreme Calamitas from Terraria Calamity. It sounds just as great too, which is incredible praise if you know anything about the composer DM Dokuro.
Here's a video of the song I'm talking about. Skip to 49 seconds to listen to the part I'm talking about.
ua-cam.com/video/MT6HTpY_OyE/v-deo.html
Also, here's DM Dokuro's arguably greatest song to listen to as a reference for his work.

Interesting, I’ll check it out!
1:47 and 2:09 this is are best parts
hell yeah
Very cool
Y'know what could be a cool theme to do? Lunastra, BUT in a style that matches what Teostra's theme became in Rise.
Lunastra rise version???
@@canal25bits2 Yeeee
@@alfredstromberger9529 imagine apex diablos is remix this theme im hope is this is so good
I have a question, will there be phase 2 for the diablos bloodbath theme, please say yes because it has 2 phases and I would love to hear the most epic and exciting phase 2 for me, the best part of this theme is this 01:47 at 02:33 For me, this part is exciting, man, this is something I wanted in monster hunter themes, which is what you're doing here, you can interpret that our hunter is determined to end it once and for all all with this threat, the last deviant and the most dangerous of all will be defeated or When you do Apex Diablos, it could be a remix of this theme with Rise instruments or even vocals, since Apex Diablos is similar to Bloodbath so I would love if If you could make a really good remix of this theme like Lunastra from World, it would make more of a difference if you could do it.
I wasn’t planning on doing two phases, or remaking another Lunastra. The list of request, as you saw, is getting very long 😅
@@nwsiaki I know but I wanted you to do a remix of the bloodbath diablos theme in apex diablos since they are practically the same just the names are different
Man, this is good. Adding this to my playlist.
Also, what do you use to make your music? I've been wanting to try doing something like this for awhile now, but I don't know which platform to chose.
I’m planning on doing a quick video on how I work, you might get some guidance there.
I use Logic Pro X as my DAW, I play the parts using a MIDI controller, and the sounds are either stock or purchased sound librairies (ex: the strings and brass are from Symphobia, the synth is from Arturia, male vocals are Wotan by Strezov Sampling, etc).
You’ll notice how expensive these things are… never purchase at full price. Almost everything has a discount at some point, if you’re patient you’ll get more for your buck.
If you have a mac, Garage Band is a good start and it’s included on your device. It comes with lots of sounds already. Hope this helps. Ask away if you have more questions.
@@nwsiaki Thank you. I will have to check all of those out.
Least angry bloodbath diablos be like:
Just a good battle theme... Honestly i like this version compared to original theme 😅
Who is next song??????????
Forokururu would be the quickest one. I have some ideas down already. It’s also a change of pace from BB Diablos.
@@nwsiakiBut high or G rank?
@athos9293 For Forokururu? I don’t think rank would change the concept of the monster musically. Let’s say G rank. :)
@@nwsiakiBecause the map he's fought in (Flower Field) has a different battle theme depending on the rank
This composition doesn't fit the frenzied fast behaviour of Bloodbath Diablos, it fits more with something brutish yet elegant like Espinas
My theme is faster, heavier and more chaotic than both phases from the original. Even then, I’d say Bloodbath Diablos is defined by his rage, the rampage, and my music is more dissonant (which is sounds clashing in a tense way) than the original. I just about hit my keyboard to play the opening chords.
I think I nailed it. I hope you read the description and can appreciate how I took Bloodbath Diablos, his concept, and made music with it.
Though we disagree, art isn’t meant to be right or wrong. You came with your own expectations and there’s nothing wrong with expressing how you feel about the music. Thank you for listening and commenting!
Espinas has was never designed towards being elegant. In it's first appearance, with it's original moveset, one of his strongest attacks was just him walking forward while shaking and swinging his head, wings and tail left and right
@@athos9293 i mean elegant like a Spanish bullfight
he became a normie diablos in rise xD
