    Great tutorials. Has anyone ever thought using the helmet from the Endor rebel soldier... the later blue EPII packaging.
    I have and fits well looks good for fraction of the price if your not bothered about 100% accuracy. Infact I think its an improvement

    Top notch video Dave ole boy. I suspect that if I attempted this project, it would wind up looking like the Fred Flintstone's outfit, LOL. Keep bringing the videos PLEASE. I pick up ideas of my own with each one of them. Hope all is well with you and yours. Have a great one my friend.

    Cable tie is a great idea, the buckle part of it you could pretend it’s a little ammo/utility pocket especially possibly paint some detail on it to add a texture illusion

    Great work, Dave!👍 The ponchos really make all the difference with these figs and these turned out exceptionally well. The process is a bit tedious with all the sowing but it’s still extremely simple. Thank you for more amazing content, sir.🙏

    Would it make the sewing easier if you attached the unsewn hood to the unsewn cloak at the neck first (that way you could likely hold it and sew it in as more of a straight line as opposed to dealing with the tiny circle) then sew the back seems up at the same time as one long straight line? I hope I'm explaining my thought right... either way, Excellent and super helpful video!

      I would recommend a fabric die and make sure it has been thoroughly washed before you let it around the figure.

  • @johnblack9885
    @johnblack9885 3 роки тому +1

    There’s certainly no mistaking these from originals. I think the camo marker looks better on the inside. Maybe draw them on inside out? I would have dyed the Leia in an acrylic paint wash first.

  • @robertmartin2936

    It's actually far easier to sew the hoods down to the cape bodies first, and sew the entire back opening line up to and including hood last.

  • @TheToyBoy1978
    @TheToyBoy1978 3 роки тому +3

    Definitely one i might try myself, i would seek an alternative to the Zip Tie (maybe some 3mm flat black elastic) i just prefer something a bit more generic + no square lump at the reverse of the figure, but the Poncho's themselves really do look extremely convincing, Great job!

    A very impressive and effective fix. The complexity of this one is surprisingly high; the amount of creativity and work that goes into a little poncho is incredible! Once again Toy Polloi has rescued some figures and really improved them. I wonder if you could add the little belt pouches to the zip ties with milliput, or perhaps even adding a couple extra zip tie connectors cut from other zip ties (maybe sanding them down a bit)? In any event it looks awesome and takes some figures from plain to wonderful. Great work as always!

  • @samuzamu
    @samuzamu 3 роки тому

    Well done, they look great!
    For the belt, you could turn the cable-tie inside out, so that the serrations are on the outside and not engaging with the locking tab. Would be easier to remove and they still stay together, usually. Also, the lump would be in towards the cape and maybe less visible.
    Haven't tried it, but it might be an alternative way of doing it.

    Great video! Doing this ASAP! Would have never thought of using a cable tie as a belt. Brilliant! I've dyed toy knit before to match the colors a bit more. I dyed it to match the color for the General Lando cape. Going to see what color toy knit fabric I have left and buy some Rit dye to match it close enough to make Luke's poncho.

    Great fix, Dave! I have a question based on the Luke figure - Is it possible to swap his head with that of a Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) figure? I ask, because it always annoyed me that the Jedi figure is in the clothes he wears in Jabba's palace, but the Endor figure wears the correct gear for the 'Final Duel', but has a non removable helmet. Do they have the same head fixings, so that a 'boil and pop' can be attempted?
