It sure makes my old man's heart happy to see this lovely lady appreciate two of my favorite male vocalists. Neil Diamond and Jim Reeves are both almost untouchable.
Love the reaction! I have been fortunate enough to see him perform twice. The man put on an awesome show the more he got into it the more the crowd got into it.
Have been to many Neil Diamond concerts! Nobody sits! still while the music is playin’! ZYou can’t stand still while the music is playin’! He writes most of his songs and is amazing to his audience.amazing band that has been with him for almost fifty years!🔥❤️💎
Neil’s autobiographical play is currently on Broadway…it’s called Beautifuk Noise. Saw it in Boston…heading to New York! Neil’s music is a beautiful noise!
I too love that Beautiful Noise. I was fortunate enough last year to move from the country to our state's capital and am thrilled to live in the city! It's comforting to me, somehow. And you love the accordion - I've played the accordion for over 50 years now, my first love 💌
Neil Diamond has so many good songs - I AM I SAID, Holly Holy, Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Band, Shiloh, Song Sung Blue... I will say of the concerts I've been to, Neil Diamond was the best (and I saw Elvis!). He's onstage on time and he's out there basically for two hours. Both times I saw, there were no back-up groups, just him and band/singers.
I've seen him several times and you are right. On time, which shows respect to his fans and the people working. No opening acts. One show only that was just a little over an hour which surprised us. Took some non Neil fans from work to that one and even with him being sick, as it turned out, they were all impressed even a couple 20 something year olds.
Love the snippet I’d Neil Diamond singing Beautiful Noise with his two very young daughters. He called them his backup singers and they called him Daddy Diamond! So sweet! Beautiful Noise is the name of the Broadway play currently portraying his life story!🔥❤️💎
You’ve probably heard by now that it is Madison Square Garden. The great thing about many of ND’s concerts is that there is very little clutter and backdrops so a seat behind stage isn’t too bad. As a matter of fact he will usually sing at least two songs to the people behind the stage and you are actually closer than anyone down front. During this concert he sings Play Me to the audience behind him. Awesome performer!
My favorite song by Neil is "Home is a Wounded Heart" It is from the album "Beautiful Noise". I like to think Mr. Diamond is one of the reasons my wife and I got married. (now on 40 years)
. . . “ a full orchestra “ … only at his 1972 and 2012 Greek Theatre presentations. Nowhere else , excluding t.v. ‘specials’ - but not including his 1976 ‘Love At The Greek’ t.v. ‘special’.
One of my favorite ND songs. Inspired by one of his daughters. There was a Puerto Rican parade they could hear from their hotel room and she said "that's a beautiful noise, daddy". So he wrote the song. There is a recording with her singing in the introduction. Very sweet.
On one of his albums, there is a snippet of Neil and his two very young daughters. He calls them his backup singers and they call him Daddy Diamond. Precious!
On one of Neil’s albums,he does a snippet of this song with his two very young daughters. He called them his backup singers…they called him Daddy Diamond! As he wrote this song his daughter looked down on the street…she said isn’t that a beautiful noise…hence…Beautiful Noise!🔥💎❤️
It's Madison Square Garden indeed. I think Neil Diamond once held the record of most consecutive nights there (eight concerts in 1986). This particular concert was from a 4-night engagement in 2008. Neil Diamond usually performed multiple shows at a venue. Millions of fans flocked to his shows around the world. It's not an orchestra, but Neil's own live band with Elvis' former drummer and the Water Sisters, Neil's own backing vocalists who worked with Michael Jackson on Thriller and countless other music legends. As for Beautiful Noise, as much as I like Neil Diamond as a performer, I think the studio version really is the best version of all. Nice reaction, as always spot on!
I have been listening to Neil since I was a little kid, when I was in my 20's in early 2000's I went to his concert, asked a girl to come with me, she was like...who? She didn't sound keen.... I didn't ask twice and I never spoke to her again. It was a fantastic concert
On one of Neil’s albums, there was a snippet with his two very young daughters. He called them his backup singers, they called him Daddy Diamond. They were in their NY apartment with the window open listening to a fair going on down in 5he street. His daughter sad, isn’t that a beautiful noise? Hence the beginning of this song!
I began piano lessons early about 6 to 7 years old. At 10 taught myself guitar and later studied classical guitar. I appreciate your obvious knowledge of music and your positive reviews. Thank you; your channel is refreshing!
You MUST react to Neil singing Sweet Caroline in Madison Square Garden. You will see thousands of Neil fans dancing, singing and swaying to Neil and his Sweet Caroline…bum..bum..bum…🔥❤️💎
He does a wide range of music. Humorous, fun, romantic, sad, soul searching. I do believe that is from the Madison Square Garden concert. I would recommend a live performance of Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show. Was one of his closing songs every tour. If you could stand, you stood, because you just couldn't stay seated for that one. The one song he needed to sing alone, I'm not singing and no one next to me better be singing, was I Am I Said. (The chair .. his psychiatrist?)
Both great songs. I don’t know if he’s ever explained the chair 🪑 or the rest of the song but I have a theory. It’s a long shot that he meant it this way but once a work of art is out there it’s open to interpretation, so here goes. First, I AM is a name for God, a shortened version of I AM THAT I AM. (ND is Jewish.) So I wonder if in his depressed state he felt that God either didn’t exist or he wasn’t listening. As for the chair, back then a lot of people would ask existential questions, such as, “Is anything real? How do you know the chair you’re sitting in is real?” He may have been questioning everything, at least long enough to get inspiration for a great song. I always get a kick out of the opening lines: “LA’s fine, the sun shines most the time and the feeling is lay back. Palm trees grow and rents are low.” The music may be timeless but that description of LA sure is dated.
Love this song and the Beautiful Noise album itself especially the song Dry Your Eyes. Other songs I love from him are Shilo, Solitary Man, and Cracklin' Rosie.
Hey Brit, in this reaction, you happened to say'"if you know what I mean". Niel has a song called if you know what I mean, it's lovely, check it out. Best wishes
I agree NYC is the greatest city in the world to visit. To live there, no thank you. (although Florence Italy is close) Neil himself was born in Brooklyn but lives in Colorado and LA.
If you like his lyrics, my suggestion is to listen to his song, Signs. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. Not only are you incredibly knowledgeable, but your voice is beautiful. Hope you continue for many years.
Neil has four children .. two daughters, Marjorie (oldest) & Ellie from his first marriage to HS sweet heart Jay Posner and two sons, Jesse (oldest) & Micah from his second marriage to former TV producer Marcia Murphey. Born in NY 1941 .. Neil had already made the move to California in 1969. Seven years prior to #Beautiful Noise being written. Neil says that he wanted to work with (the late, great lead guitarist for THE BAND) Robbie Robertson and have him produce his upcoming album. Robbie had just passed away 9 August 2023 in Los Angeles at age 80. While visiting NY, the windows to their hotel room we're open. Down below there was a Puerto Rican parade and while Neil's oldest daughter Marjorie was listening to all the musical instruments being played, she turned to her father and said "What a beautiful noise Daddy" .. Neil knew that was to be the title of the song. He wrote it and presented it ro Robbie. Robertson loved it and went onto produce Neil's album which was also titled #Beautiful Noise. "Neil seems to make just fun, relatable music ... I really like his subject matter .. If you know what I mean." I was LMAO when ya said this. It just so happens that Neil wrote and included a single #If You Know What I Mean to the #Beautiful Noise album. In August 1972, Neil sold out 10 shows at Los Angeles Greek Theater. The 24 August 1972 show was to be recorded LIVE and released as a double album. Neil was the first songwriter performer to bring in a surround sound system. He also added a large string-section to his normal horns, keyboards and acoustic/electric guitar mix. After its release, #Hot August Night sold more than 2 million copies in the U.S. and landed at no 5 on Billboards TOP 200 .. but it was the 'land down under' that took the album and turned Neil Diamond into a international superstar and a best selling charismatic stage performers. #Hot August Night 1972 spent 29 weeks at no 1 and became the best selling album of 1973 and the third best selling album of 1974. Less than a decade later, the album landed back on Australia's TOP 10 and again landing at no 21 in 1992. In the Fall of 1973, Neil went on to sell out 20 CONSECUTIVE shows at New York's Winter Garden Theater, becoming the first rock star to play Broadway. Neil Diamond was king of the stage back in the seventies. Selling out arenas all over the world would continue up until his retirement in January 2018.
This is a good performance of this song. Not his best... his voice had started to decline. Compare this to the studio recording when the song first came out and you can hear a dramatic difference. I'm a die-hard Neil Diamond fan, and have been for over 50 years. He's doing a great job of compensating for the depth he no longer has. The song is fantastic. Please to Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show! You'll be pulling out the church flag for that one! Neil Diamond was a brilliant singer and songwriter!
I would love it if you'd react to Sammy Davis Jr doing Mr Bojangles live! I watched a 20+ reactor do Bojangles and he just didn't get it! Your very good in appreciation of talent so please react to Sammy Davis Jr doing Mr Bojangles live ❤️❤️❤️❤️
It’s my first time watching your videos and I’m sorry, but you talk way too much and pause the song way too many times I understand you’re reviewing the song, but you got to chill out a little bit please
If you love Neil you need to see Super Diamond who are currently touring it is the only way yo see ND songs performed since Neil retired. I mean I'm seeing them next week in jersey can't wait.
It sure makes my old man's heart happy to see this lovely lady appreciate two of my favorite male vocalists. Neil Diamond and Jim Reeves are both almost untouchable.
Have been to many of Neil’s concerts, EVERYONE is realky into his concert! Nobody sits, everybody sings every song….knows every word!🔥❤️💎
Neil has an AHHHMAZING BAND. HAVE BEEN WITH HIM FOR MANY YEARS,
His concerts are amazing. Every person in the stadium is on their feet, dancing, singing and enjoying the sounds of this legend!
Neil writes most of his own songs. They always tell a story..every one! If you know the music…you know the man! He is ahhhhmazing!🔥❤️💎
Love the reaction! I have been fortunate enough to see him perform twice. The man put on an awesome show the more he got into it the more the crowd got into it.
Neil’s band is ahhhhmazing. ALWAYS a great concert!

Forever In Blue Jeans - another playful, fun song
I will keep it in mind, thanks!
Neil’s concerts are all three hours,no opening acts,no intermission. His entire audience is always on their feet singing along ! He’s the master!🔥❤️💎
Have been to many of his concerts..three hours of Heaven…never sat down! He is truly Ahhhmazing. No he has a full orchestra!

that is so sweet! thanks for the info!

ND is from Brooklyn, he wrote and recorded Brooklyn Roads! Nice song too! very deep rabbit hole here.
That is so cool! I will keep it in mind, thanks!
Good morning!! What a nice, fun, pleasant song to start the day with! Thank you! 😅
Glad you enjoyed it!!

I think she should definitely listen to the studio version, especially since she identified with the lyrics.
thanks for the info!!

It’s most definitely Madison Square Garden. Look up “Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show” or “Hell Yeah” from that show…total show stoppers!!
I moved from the big city to a remote area on the mountains. I'll take the beautiful silence and scenery over the city any day.
This song always lifts my spirit. Check out studio version.
The concert was held at Madison Square Garden. Neil performed there many times. One year he had four sold out shows
He once had a run of eight sold-out shows at MSG (1986), I think it was a record back then.
that is awesome!
You need to react to him singing Sweet Caroline at Madison Square Garden. It is ahhhhhmazing!🔥❤️💎
I will keep it in mind , thanks!
Never mind the song or the lyrics - Oooh the stage is moving, Oooh she's into it, Oooh an accordion....
Love this song and the Beautiful Noise album itself especially the song Dry Your Eyes. Other songs I love from him are Shilo, Solitary Man, and Cracklin' Rosie.

I like the sound of the creek behind my house.
I agree…he chose dead ordinary things to write about and turned them into beautiful songs. Try Song Sung Blue.
I agree NYC is the greatest city in the world to visit. To live there, no thank you. (although Florence Italy is close)

haha to each their own! That is cool Neil was born in NYC
@@brittreacts I was born in Long Island and like all good Jews migrated South. Lol.

He writes most of his own lyrics….most of them are about real events in his lufe. Have never sat at a Neil Diamond concert!
That is MSG in NYC…
Have you ever heard of his song "Morningside"
In mentality NY is more or less same as Amsterdam. We both share the positive arrogance of telling everyone that we are the best 😉
The “baby flute” is probably a piccolo.
thats shows in a row
Hi Britt, the story behind "Beautiful Noise" - ua-cam.com/video/VyOydL0uShk/v-deo.html

@@brittreacts Ha ha. Indeed. I'm not qualified to comment anyway. I've never had the pleasure of visiting NYC.
Neil Diamond held the record for the most straight sold out shows at Madison Square Garden at 4 till Billy Joel broke it with 5
wow that is awesome!
You forget Neil Diamond's eight (!) night run at MSG in 1986!
I wish people would normalise their audio. I'm listening to Neil at a normal level then the talking is 5 times louder.
Play ladyo
How are you still saying y'all if you spent years in NYC? Some NY artists...Billy Joel, Barbara Steisand, Dean MartinBarry Manilo
too much time in the south lol!
I cant tell there's too much rain on your monitor...I know why ots there.
New York City has fallen...it will never come back now....
It’s a great song but the studio version is much better.
I like you, your a cute person
New York "best city in the world" So you have never been to Sydney hehe.
haha i have not!

It’s my first time watching your videos and I’m sorry, but you talk way too much and pause the song way too many times

Not a big hit, but a well crafted song. Tune-Smith!
For a change of Tempo - try his Soggy Pretzels.
I will keep it in mind, thanks!
