I've been saying this exact same thing since I started working 30 years ago - spot on! well done. Burnt out JUST from my crappy job and then forcing myself to achieve in other high demand activities and just getting no joy from anything.

Capitalism is the reason you have this device in front of you to make that comment, Let others do the hard work. Like I do... just chill. Because I tell you what, you don't want communism.

@@franzhaas5597 gotta love the uneducated who jump to defend their oppressors. also your ignorance is showing when you can only think of communism as an alternative to capitalism. the whole system is completely made up buddy, and like all systems, it will crumble and make way for another one. but go ahead, keep thinking how hard you work when instead you are just contributing meaningless work and overworking yourself, doing exactly what the system wants from you to keep profits up for those above you. just because we see a few benefits of a system doesnt mean we ignore the massive faults.

@@franzhaas5597Actually no. The internet was developed by academics and the pentagon. Apple and Microsoft just made it more accessible to everyday people while adding incredibly perverse incentives.

I am thinking this way for months. I am aware of my feelings, which come from my temperament and personality, and I am not afraid to face them. At the start of school, I studied hard, and a few months later I was exhausted. It ended up my mother called by the school principal to say why I am not joining classes. (It's because I don't want a feature asshole!) From what my insights tell, I NEED FUCKING FREE TIME. I think I have maladaptive daydreaming and recently my daydreams are about, generally, doing nothing. I am already doing nothing but it's more like I need doing nothing and I don't wanna be stressed 'cause of it. I want to do nothing and have nothing to do tomorrow or I don't want it to have consequences like being unemployed, living in bad conditions.

    • @TheUnlearntWorld

Yessss I completely get you!! It’s not that you only want to do nothing, but you want it to be ok that you are doing nothing, instead of this guilt over your head :) thanks for watching and consider subscribing 😘

Now I know one book to start my studies.

We gotta do what’s best for us and stop caring if other people label us as “lazy.” We can’t change other people- only ourselves.

The only thing I don't like about this is it leaves it up to the individual when the people in power are making it like this. No one wants to survive on drugs and coffee to get through the day. No one wants to work these shitty 9-5 jobs. This is the way shit is set up for us and many people are just doing what they have to so their kids can eat. The system needs change

It depends on the person. Personally I only rly like doing things I'm good at, and not doing things I completely suck at. Yes, I think it's important to enjoy the proces but some people are simply results orientated people.
What I also have a problem with is that people generally blame this attitude on capitalism in general. That's not what capitalism is about, it's about making money, sure, but also about you having the opportunity to start your own enterprise or move like a free agent/employee in a free market. It isn't about you working yourself into a burnout or for coorperations to work their employees to death. It doesn't tell you to exploit anyone. Do not confuse capitalism with a corporatocrasy.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this. In the US they’ve attached morality to productivity. It’s a consequence of living in this weird mish mash of christian capitalism.

i think 1. generating passive income by utilising the power of the internet (e.g. youtube videos, investing, posting a skill share class) 2. generating normal income through the internet (tutoring online or selling a product online) 3. don't commit to anything full time because it kills the joy of anything

Catholicism in some cases teaches you get into heaven with works

“Lazy” is a judgement. It’s not a real thing. It’s a moralization of our behavior (and it’s for the benefit of the powerful… who are happily lazy off the labor of the poor.)
