I would agree with others tho, don’t overdo the filter cleans just yet, and unless you are adding a live bacteria to the media, then you will be way longer than 4 weeks for the filter to mature…
Andy super appreciate you opinion mate it helps. Im just doing the mecanical side as the NO's are well to high so getting rid of big poopsters TBH a lot coming. Im just doign 1/2 drops a day now and fish seem happy ATM TBH. Thanks mate

I would be cautious about doing big water changes and filter cleaning as much as you are. I would also keep feeding enough that it's all eaten within a 3 minute timeframe to begin with. Extend it as the filters get up to speed. Last thing is I would slow the flow through the filter to give as much stand time while still filtering the pond. The main thing to aim for is stability. Hope it all rights itself soon👍on the time of year to add fish,I would be of the thinking of April,temps are up that bit more and should be about to raise a good bit,weather permitting. Those temperature's will aid the filter in maturing faster than the colder temps in march IMO and lastly on how long the filter will take to mature, unfortunately it will be next season before it is fully mature,as the nexus take quite a while to get up to full speed. The slower flow will help with maturing it,but from what I have heard and been told,it takes a full year to be at top speed. Great filter once established.

Sometimes just letting nature do its thing has massive benefits, even if they are not always apparent short term.
I asgree mate thats why I dont want to add chemicals into the pond but keep it safe while the filter builds up. Cheers mate

Until autumn, you should create an atmosphere that encourages their collective behaviour instincts and slowly acclimatises them to feeding.

Don't stop feeding j dog,consistency is key,bacteria will not build up otherwise. Same amount of food each day and ride it out.
Hi pal, yeah I just stopped for 1/2 days as it was NO's were super high, but now they are reducing slowly been feeeding slowly not too much. Nice one pal

Interesting mate, I am only dropping the inner (mechanical) filteration section. I thought all the nitrogen cycle conversion takes place in the outer chamber?
@koifishjohnny yes but unless you getting a lot of waste leave it just keep eye on it I had same with my pond 3, spoke with krafty said don't keep changing water and filter let bacteria build up to get ammonia steady first then other 2 will sort them selves out
@@nippinkoi8924 interesting mate interesting. Defo reducing it. I’m really following koi’s behaviour too and they seem happier over past 4 days. So I’m down to once a day now and reduce further back to 2 times a week in a week or so. Well that’s the plan for now 😀
You are cleaning the filters to much for the amount of fish you have got in your pond at the moment. Once a week would be sufficient,you are not letting filters establish themselves
Thasts 100% what i thought Mike but the reading s are too high so this is the only way to control it by jjust doing mechanical filteration drops with water replacement til filetrs grow IMO mate. PS not dropping the Biological filter
You are a laugh, in a nice way , but you do seem to have to many problem. We started our koi journey around the same time. The difference is I put my faith in my expert Steve at Peng Koi Stoke. If he told me to jump I asked him how height. The result was a lots less problems than you seem to face.
Hi mate nice one I try to be hhaaa. My problems are self made bad decision 2 major ones with huge conscience's. The rest like now are just natural teething issues IMO. But 100% great to have someone with real knowledge have your back mate
