Good luck with getting a visa and, in case you cross it by car, get yourself ready to have your luggage inspected also by a border police dog.
You should keep in mind that this border is not like a simple crossing between Germany and Austria or between Ukraine and Moldova.

Unfortunately, Belarus has been largely Russified. Since the days of the czars, subjected peoples have been forced to adopt Russian in place of their own language. Nothing has changed under Putin.

Belarus - Polish border at next?
Unlike the other parts of the Belarusian border where the border villages are far from cities, the Belarusian-Polish border is where two major cities are located (Brest and Hrodna), so there are not many rural places to film unless you are in the Polish part.
It would be interesting to see what people say there, as there's a huge Polish minority and Polish-Belarusian mix in that area :)

I have visited this village many times in the past decade. Was glad to see the people whom I knew back then. Library being sold was a sad revelation, but otherwise it is nice to see they look content. The degree of xenophobia there is unexpectedly high and I expected way too many unprovoked attacks from the locals, but the nature is fabulous.
