Very new to finding out all of this info on Chiarri as I was diagnosed in 2006… For lack of a better way to say, I was told I will just need to live with it, take OTC pain reliever… My Chiari MRI showing cerebella’s tonsils 14mm below foramen magnum… In the process of getting a specialist however can’t get an appt until Spring 2024…Still searching for help and glad to see so much more available info…

Is it possible to have Chiari, CFS leak and occasionally IIH? I have symptoms of IIH and CFS leak, very different symptoms with each headache and the symptoms seem to last months

Yes, my daughter has chiari, had both high pressure headaches from IIH and low pressure headaches from a CSF leak. She had a shunt put in for the IIH and a blood patch for a CSF leak. The shunt worked for about a year and pressure headaches came back. Neurosurgeon suspected scar tissue from 1st surgery. She had a 2nd decompression surgery (it was 10 years after hr 1st one). She's doing great today 3 years after 2nd surgery.
