After many years as a conventional farmer, Francesc Font Rovira knew something had to change. Barely making a profit, his monocultures were vulnerable to disease, and he knew his practices were destroying the environment.
Now, he is one of the farmers at the forefront of a sustainable farming movement: the Regenerative Agriculture Revolution. Regenerative agriculture is all about working in harmony with nature, rather than against it - for the benefit of farmers, consumers and the natural environment. By ditching chemical additives, integrating animals and diversifying crops, Francesc is producing more nutritious food and replenishing the land for generations to come. This video explores his story in more detail, from the regenerative practices he’s adopted on Son Felip to the challenges he’s faced - and why he’s never looked back.
This video is produced by EIT Food, the Europe’s largest and most dynamic food innovation community. Supported by the EU’s European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), we invest in projects, organisations and individuals that share our goals for a healthy and sustainable food system - with a focus on education, entrepreneurship, engagement and innovation.

This is a great example of what can be done on a larger scale farm when we return to regenerative farming. It makes sense to use animals to 'grow' the land instead of using land to grow animals. Everyone benefits from this style of farming even if we start in our own backyards. Do something today to make a difference for tomorrow.

Amazing, he can grow all sorts of things and I can't even grow a row of carrots without the deer eating them up or the kids running them over with a bicycle.
