You can hit a deep socket and extension on the spring retainers to remove the keepers. Takes a minute to do a whole head It’s assembling the head you need tool for
I bought one to help with the restoration of my XG Falcon, quite a flimsy tool, wasn't strong enough for my needs, ended up using a large wood working clamp and pair of pliers, and it was still less frustrating than trying to use this "tool"
I have one of these tools. I am disappointed with the quality of this tool the while pushing the handle to compress the cone slips of the valve. After a few uses the thread was galling.
Taking out the spring is not an issue....its putting a new valve and seal then the spring back is the main issue i have... Ive seen basically most of the videos on UA-cam that shows how to "remove valve spring" but no1 really shows how to put valve spring back on ....why is that the case?
It doesn't work on all cylinder heads.. why? Because most cyl head have deeper valve location and tool wont reach it because the side walls are too high.

Thanks for this comment man. Fucked around with this tool for a couple mins and then switched to this method and it is much faster and easier.

Yes, they are terrible and too fiddly, it also doesn’t clear the head properly. There is NO way to compress a valve spring using just the handle.

Thanks. I need to take the valves out of my Flathead 6 in my 1951 Power Wagon I need a tool like this

No 2 model engines are the same....this does not work on a 4 cylinder 8 valve or 12 valve
I bought it but then its not the right one for my bmw m43
defiantly wouldn't work on a BMW V10
Wow
Rubbish tool don't get that one!
But why?
Doesn't work
If you want to convince people not to buy this, you should provide at least some context as to why this doesn't work.
