A lot of halo is about decision making/awareness. Gun skill is definitely a factor but not as much I believe as the latter. I can’t tell you how many times I’ll pop off one game and the very next not so much based off of getting caught out a bunch. Also I’m a grenade magnet 🤣

There’s certain slides you can do in this game that gives that boost or whatever , I honestly don’t know how to time it . But if you look up shyway, he’s posted videos showing it / lots of tips & tricks !
Yeah it's called a curb slide or a drop slide, if you slide off of a small ledge with the right timing you can get a big momentum boost the other reply here speaks the truth, shyway has a decent vid on it

You got it wrong, I believe most pros play 90/100 fov. It can be worse for consoles as having more on the screen means lower FPS as there is more for the machine to render, you don’t get more input delay
Ranking systems biggest issue is that it adjusts skill before rank. Meaning they massively underestimate someones skill level, and give them a low rank; only to immediately start pairing them against higher ranks. I was placed G5 facing diamonds, and within 10 more games I was facing onyx level players, all while being low plat (by that point). If you give me a rank of Gold, at least give me the satisfaction of stomping gold level players as I climb. Instead I'm always having to try hard while having to stare at an incredibly low rank compared to every other person in the game after a win. The benefit of being placed low and facing diamond and onyx players, is that you won't lose that much rank for a loss (if any). That's the only benefit; if you're good enough, their going to very quickly force you into high elo matches regardless of rank. (I only play SOLO, so I'm not getting artificially outranked by a high elo friend playing with me) In onyx now, it means almost nothing at this skill level. Pretty much it just means you aren't an ape, making ape plays and running directly into fire.
Its ok, man. Its probably not your fault most of the times. There are blatant desync and netcode issues in Infinite. I just roll with all the unfair deaths and keep grinding. If you dont want to do that, just kick back and have fun.
Can’t hold the ball if the whole enemy team is on top of you, if only one guy on a team is worth a damn at slaying then the other teammates need to recognize that and play their part, holding the ball, while the slayer keeps the enemy team on their respawn screens
My 29 year old ass fought tooth and nail to reach diamond 1, trying to recapture my halo 3 days. After a few games of diamond I was thinking, "how is it even possible to hit Onyx I barely seem to rank up?" Well, after watching this god among children I don't think I ever will hit Onyx and that's A-OK. Sometimes people are just way, way better than you will ever hope to be XD.
Crouch jump and slide crouch jump, it’s really tight to stick the landing I only get it a few times when I try for it…which is often 1 per 100 attempts

My PC won’t let me get 144hz on this game which is so annoying. I got onyx on my set up. But I tried halo on my friends series x and won every game and got him D1 and on my friends pc I got him to Diamond and on my cousins pc I got diamond as well.
The game feels like it has a grace for losing teams. Shots will start to not register, huds will glitch sometimes, you can get stuck and not move. Especially when jumping on objective like the flag or ball. I jumped on flag once and froze stiff. It is like being at the tractor pulls in halo infinite. No one can be too good at the game unless the other team gives up and has no skills. The pressure will just keep piling on. I noticed as long as you do better than your previous game and win you will rank super fast. So try not to kill so much because then youd have to pop off all games. 30+ with less than 10 deaths. Then you will have to do 40+ kills less than 10 deaths and so on. 1 kill 0 death win 2 kills 0 deaths win 3 kills 0 deaths win that's how you rank in halo infinite. Nothing else matters it feels.

I'm on XSX and I have mine set to 100. It feels near perfect. I can always adjust down to 95 if I feel like I'm getting sensory overload.
Most play on 105 because that's destiny's FOV setting
