Hopefully this doesn't become a trend. With the timing change in 2005 flicks became rarer for a while and Foil became watchable and interesting again. While I'm not against flicks in principle I hope we don't go back to the boring days of the early 00's where foil just became endless absence of blade marches ending with a single flick to an extremity. Foil is never better than when has multiple phrases of attacks and parries, it by nature is meant be the discipline that shows the full range of techniques
Actually rewatching this in slo-mo I was wrong. They are 90% 4 or 8 parries! It seems for 6 you need to take it high and back before the riposte. The few 9 parries I think are mostly not circular but they start low probably to give them leverage.
I’m in the U17 Paris marathon rn, this vid getting me in that spirit

Fax, man, i remember watching this before day 2 and getting hype as shit

😂 you're safe, I had to go through 116 hours of video footage to collect these 74 flicks from the competition and that was 99% of them 👍
@@OlympicFoilany chance you can do something similar for the 2024 Olympics?
Ka long is so smooth
trueeeeee
bro hes just bullying them at this point
It looks like most of the flicks are done with a parry 9 or high 7?
You've lost me on the terminology tbh, definitely a common theme for back flicks for sure tho
@@OlympicFoil basically where you parry from under the opponent's blade, pushing it up and then flick down onto their shoulder
