Gordon's bottles look A LOT different on this side of the pond. I wonder if they taste any different. I don't mind Gordon's myself. Does the job if I plan on having a lot.
I like these two. The beefeater is too tangy or something and the tanqueray is too citrusy. These both have nice balanced flavorings that are easy to drink
22eur for the bombay sapphire? :O That is really cheap, here in sweden it cost 30 eur for the 700ml.. The gordon is 24 eur here also, but sure, i rather have the gordon for cheaper than the bombay.
Bobby, from what I read on Wikipedia, the Gordon's sold in England is packaged at 37.5 proof, and in the USA, it is 80 proof, and the added 5% alcohol makes all the difference. A couple of days ago, I bought a 1.75 litre bottle of Gordon's for $18.00, and it is delicious. Mind you, I used to buy Gordon's all the time and enjoyed it. Then I started buying Beefeater and such. All excellent gins. But worth the difference? In the case of Beefeater, yes. Tanqueray, Bombay Original Dry? Not so much. Gordon's just has a clean juniper taste and aroma that the others don't.
Yeah, for some reason the UK version is a lower ABV. I think you can get the higher ABV version at airports via the duty free. I think that version is also better for martinis.
Good choice, Bobby! Cannot get myself past the chemical taste of Bombay, always ruins my drink. Whereas the Gordans, although very boring, is easily enhanced with some pleasant garnishing~. Picking up a bottle of Bombay for my 'collection' soon and it pains me so...
I love Schweppes for my tonic. I don't like the other "fancier" types of tonic water we have access to nowadays. The only thing I did like about Fever Tree was the reduced sugar content, if I remember correctly.
I can definitely respect that. While I don't think Gordon's is anything wildly special, it's a standard gin in the classic sense, and performs very well within that style. It's not really meant to be anything more than that. I like a good bit of tradition in this world of rapid changes where we are developing an increasingly apathetic stance towards our historic roots. Some things aren't meant to be changed. Having said that, my overall favorite London Dry style is good ole Tanqueray.
Gordons pink gin is one of my favorite affordable gins. Gordons standard is alright, but the pink gin with some tonic has that berry / lemon / juniper that just tastes nice and refreshing, especially with some elderflower tonic. I don't usually spend a whole bunch on alcohol so its nice to indulge in more expensive stuff every now and then but you always need a "daily driver".
Interesting! Loved the video, and oh those camera angles on the bottles in the intro are beautiful. Yes, Bombay Sapphire is rather expensive. It´s usually even more expensive here in Czech Republic. I´m gonna be avoiding Bombay and maybe I´ll taste it when I´m in a pub, so I don´t have to pay for a full bottle. I recently had a taste of the classic Beefeater and it was pretty nice. Way more junipery than the Czech gin I had before. I´d like to ask you, maybe you stated this in one of your older videos, but what at what ratio do you usually mix your g&t? Peace!
hey Decoy Good question. I used to have it quiet weak when I first started, about 6:1. When I’m tasting for the the channel I have it 1:1 but if I’m just enjoying it at home then I usually go about 3:1 or 4:1 👍
@@nononsensegindrinking5152 6 to 1? That sounds quite weak, but why not? It´s for the taste, not the alcohol afterall :) . I don´t enjoy the alcohol taste/burning myself, so it might be better for me. But 2.5 to 1 was good. Also, I´d like to see you react to the Czech gin I had. Would it be possible for me to send you a bottle sometime in the future? But if you don´t want to tell a random stranger your address, I completely understand that and it´s fine :D, just an idea I had.
Bombay Saphire tried to add these exotic botanicals that to me don’t make a lot of sense.I think they fall to their own hubris.Gordons like you said found their niche and stuck with it.I respect Gordon’s for being one of the first London Drys but that’s where it stops
Bobby If You Can, Can You Please Review The Chase (Williams) GB Gin Extra Dry. I Found That Gin Really Delicious And Clean. You Can Find It In Tesco In A Green Bottle With A Union Flag Bow Tie On the Bottleneck.
I really want gin in my life but I just haven't found an absolute love yet. I think I'm looking for something that's heavy in Juniper but not spice. Is that possible or does the Juniper bring the spice? I'm still trying to learn my notes and flavors with spirits; which is funny because I'm pretty well versed with notes when it comes to fragrances. Also, I'd be curious about your second and third choice of spirit. On those wild and crazy off nights instead of gin is it tequila? Lol!
@NoNonsenseGinDrinking funny this, five months down the line and I'm the owner of 10+ bottles! Old Tom/barrel aged are my favs but but Irish Gunpowder, Aviation and Mojave (really anything but a London dry) I can enjoy neat. London dry works for a cocktail but I'm a hard pass on gin and tonic.
Why are you punishing yourself!!!!..... Taking one for the team I see. Luring in the newbs to lead the to the gin promised land. You're a good one, Bobby.
Haha 😂!! “If I had to pick between boring and something I don’t like....” the bottle of Martin Miller’s I bought based on your review was finished last night. What a beautiful gin!! Thank you 😊
The problem is there’s too many fucking gins out there with all kinds of shit in them. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it’s pure marketing(Aviator 😉). These two have been around because it’s one less decision we have to make in life. Don’t get me started on craft beer.
So youtube recommend the Roku gin rewive .......but don't let me see my fave gin Chanel when it premiere .....SHAME But great video to get some pure knowledge in when I'm at old Bob's pup ( or any other normal bar) and I can say if I should get a gin and tonic or move over
I'm with you on this one, Bobby...Gordon's is definitely boring, however I don't have the urge to spit it out as I do with Bombay Sapphire, the swill of all swills! Very entertaining video, another great one my friend!
have not tryed Gordons but i have Bombay sapphire at home and its my absolut worst tasting gin. But its pretty in my Gin collenction so maby a friend want a tast sometime :)
Bombay Sapphire💙💙💙💙 is my favourite Gin all personal preference 💙
no matter how many different brands i try, i keep coming back to classic Gordon's..
It's about time Gordons have a win in its corner... I LOVE Gordon's Gin
Best drink for London Dry Gin??? recently bought some and it taste like shit
Gordon's bottles look A LOT different on this side of the pond. I wonder if they taste any different. I don't mind Gordon's myself. Does the job if I plan on having a lot.
Yes, someone else mentioned this. I’m going to be looking into it in a future video. Thanks David 👍
Here in Canada it's in a transparent bottle with yellow labeling and can't wait until my bottle is finished
When faced with these two gins, you chose whisky/whiskey.
I think you’re right Charles 👍
Lol!! Exactly!
Ah, Bombay Sapphire. I put mine in a spray bottle and my guests love to use it in the toilet.

You’re so kind! Thank you very much Lucy ! 😊😊
My very first Gin was Bombay Sapphire, is everywhere.
On a hot summer day like we have in Australia, Gorden Gin & Soda is very refreshing. Bombay Sapphire is more biter than Gorden Gin.

Gordons with Schweppes tonic water is the best...and they both have a royal warrant.
near me Gordons is only $9 a 750 ml or 16 for 1.5 L vs Bombay being $20 for a 750 so its really a no brainer for that price
Good choice, Bobby! Cannot get myself past the chemical taste of Bombay, always ruins my drink. Whereas the Gordans, although very boring, is easily enhanced with some pleasant garnishing~. Picking up a bottle of Bombay for my 'collection' soon and it pains me so...
leahsdreams
Thanks Leah. I might try some Gordon’s with a few Garnishes. What do you find works the best?
Gordon’s gin with a Schweppes tonic is a good drink, I think a lot of people think packaging and price make for a better drink.
I commented before I read the comments and I totally agree with you... Gordon's and Schweppes tonic water are a match made in heaven!
I love Schweppes for my tonic. I don't like the other "fancier" types of tonic water we have access to nowadays. The only thing I did like about Fever Tree was the reduced sugar content, if I remember correctly.
Gordon’s is my go to Gin. Not every Gin has to try to be something special.
Bombay is over priced and under flavoured.
My opinion.

I dont know much about gin,
do you know how many ml belong in a glass if i only drink the gin without tonic or something else?
Oooo no!!! Gordon's is gorgeous!!! Especially the pre mixed tonic water gin, in a can! But that's just what I reckon!
The premixed Gordon cans are 🔥🔥🔥

Interesting video, i have to admit I've never tried Bombay Sapphire. My dad swears by it but don't think he's tried anything else.
That’s the thing Chris,
Most people don’t know how much better stuff is out there! 😊
@@nononsensegindrinking5152 I assume you have tried Hendricks. That's very nice.
I love bombay sapphire, has a real peppery taste to it that I really like.
nopeee i prefer the junipery taste so gordons is my pick

I haven't tried either of these gins. Worst gin I've tried is Primrose Gin
I like both, my Gordon’s is the American variety. I think I prefer the Bombay slightly, but both make a good G&T
For you it may be like talking from the 333rd level from "The Plattform".
If those are my only gin options, I think I'd go for a cider
A Lightweight Reviews

I should have had that as an option under the table! 😂😂😊

Gordon's is fine in a Tom Collins. Definitely think Bombay Sapphire and Tanqueray are way overpriced.
Two of my favorite gins 🤣 funny how you smash them ...
Bombay Sapphire is like 60 dollars in Jakarta. We live in a society.
I'm with you on this one, Bobby...Gordon's is definitely boring, however I don't have the urge to spit it out as I do with Bombay Sapphire, the swill of all swills! Very entertaining video, another great one my friend!
Poor Hugo he tried 😆
Gordon’s gin is not my cup of tea. Bombay is not bad but Tanqueray on the other hand is very delightful and smooth.
Gordon's is lame in a G&T but it might be my favourite to drink shots. Like a smooth, juniper flavoured vodka with a slight sweetness
I lied. Glendalough Irish gin is the best for shots
Gordon’s is great with tonic and pineapple juice
Bombay Sapphire was the first gin I had and it turned me off gin for so long! It wasn't until I tried Hendricks that I realized I really liked gin!
Glad you came back Mitchell! 👍
Both my favorites.
Btw is that the regular Gordon's? I only ask it's because in Denmark the design is different
Did you try Borovička from Slovakia?
dont forget please the nordes atlantic gin!! hugh bobby

If you mix them 50/50 it may be drinkable?,,,or twice as bad!.
Please. If you can review the Whitley Neill gooseberry

how come you've never reviewed Gilbeys Gin
Description for gorgons is about right. Low effort, for the masses, cheap garbage. Grapefruit flavoured equally bad and disappointing.

is that gordons the same here in argentina with the yellow label?...
