I'm 67 and a 49 year alumni Coug, and Jack Dickert was my 11th head couch at WSU. And I really liked Jake Dickert, and I don't think he really wanted to leave Pullman as he loved it there. But after listening to several podcasts I'm not mad at him, I'm just bummed. I went to 6 games while he was coaching, and he was enthusiastic and determined. And I have met him 3 times and he's a really nice man, so I do wish him luck at Wake Forest. And it's on to coach #12 for me and my group of friends that I met mostly in the dorms. That I still talk to and hang out with whenever we can. Anyway, none of this is shocking for me. I grew up in Issaquah, and started at WSU in 1975. The year Jack Thompson started, and we're friends. We had 4 coaches in 4 years. Jim Sweeney was in his last year of coaching, then Jackie Sherrill replaced him, but he got a better offer and left after one year. Warren Powers was hired and he stood on his front porch on the news declaring "I will NEVER leave Pullman!" but he only lasted a year because his alma mater (Iowa State I think) offered him the head coaching job, and he took it. And then Jim Walden took over and stayed for 8 years I think and we actually went to a Bowl Game! 🤔🎉 So you don't have to tell us Golden Grads about coaches leaving. AND to top it off, it took me 7 years to graduate because I changed my major 3 times, and we never won the Apple Cup once while I was there. 😩 So I don't know as a Coug fan that I am ready to jump off a cliff because of everything I have been through so far. But I think the NCAA and the NIL have ruined college football. 😥
It’s always been this way for WSU we are just a farm school now. Come here have a good season go get the bag somewhere. It’s ok just bring in a fun vibe coach and let’s drink enjoy college football.
Wazzu (and OSU) is in good hands and will prosper. I really smell conspiracy to wreck the PAC-12, but it won't work. Once the coaching vacancies are filled, it will be "back to the future" and winning ways for Wazzu.
I’m a WSU ‘86 alumni. The final death nail is now set on the WSU Football program and the Athletic Department. It was nice while it lasted but it is no more. College football is FUBAR. No hidden state secret there. College athletics, a late 19th/early twentieth century concept, is also dead. It cannot survive, in its’ current out of control form in 2024. The same cascading event that led to the demise of WAZZU could easily happen to other NCAA colleges and universities. It’s not a question of if, but when, the shoe is dropped on the next college athletic department and goes by the wayside like WSU.

John Mateer signed with Oklahoma I thought
WSU needs Steve Spurrier Jr on the phone!
@@geoffreybowen4788 Geez. In every related video, you’re promoting Spurrier. Are you his agent or what? 😝
The new reconfigured PAC 12 is an afterthought and the new members haven’t officially joined yet
answer= dollar signs

I feel sorry for your school. You lost men’s basketball coach, AD and football coach in the same year
Not sure he will attract the talent after this move.
Hire Nick Rolovitch.
Naw Dickert is a Snake. The way he left is dumb.
