  • At Coolector HQ, we're currently rather into outdoor adventures, which is why the latest product from Mammoth Overland, the aptly named Tall Boy Off-Road Trailer, has caught our attention. This style of off-road camper trailer is the tallest and toughest in its class, standing nine feet tall, 2,900 pounds, and providing 22 inches of ground clearance. The Tall Boy is made entirely of aluminum.
Mammoth Overland's Tall Boy Off-Road Trailer is priced at a very affordable $72,000. Pre-orders are being accepted now, and delivery are anticipated in Q4 2024. The Tall Boy's construction started with an aircraft-grade all-aluminum frame, which was specifically intended to accommodate a king-size mattress-a request made by Taylor, the creator of Mammoth Overland, in keeping with the company's previous HV and ELE trailers.
In order to improve its use, the designers added two more sleeping bunks, each big enough to fit a person up to six feet two inches tall. The top bunk may be lowered down to create a seating space that resembles a couch when these bunks are not being used for sleeping. There is a cubby with an additional set of lighting controls accessible from the lower bunk. The king-sized bed has plenty of storage beneath it. The Tall Boy's inside is filled with multiple USB ports, all of which were placed there with families in mind. It also comes with a 24-inch LCD television, which improves overall comfort and practicality for family vacations.
Tall Boy has strong off-road capability but is designed to be more roomy than the preceding ELE trailer. With two independent axles and seventeen-inch wheels wrapped in thirty-three-inch tires, it offers an impressive twenty-two inches of ground clearance-much more than its nearest rival. Tall Boy also has two full-size spare wheels and tires, not just one. A front-mounted external molle panel and a roof-access ladder are two other characteristics. Up to 1,000 pounds can be supported statically and 500 pounds dynamically by the conventional roof rack, increasing its usefulness and preparedness for a range of outdoor activities.

Saw this at overland expo. They need a front storage box option and bigger fridge. Otherwise solid unit.
They also had a 1.5 year waitlist on the teardrop, and reviews have been super positive.

Perhaps the next generation will get a bigger fridge.

Excited to see more about this - wondering how comfortable the "couch" is for sitting when the top bunk is down though? Enough to hang out on a wet and rainy day?

it all depends on the size of the person, so it’s better to experience the sensations yourself. Because maybe everything will be ok for me, but for other people it won’t be comfortable.

In the tradition of Trailers from down under built for the outback. But our parks can get COLD in the morning and freezing you fingers to make a pot of coffee and oatmeal would make any rational outdoor enthusiast long for an internal galley esp for $72k

I think it was created for warm regions, but the price tag is quite high.

It’s an American company. They offer 4 season trailers with heated water tanks for sub zero temps. All the specs haven’t come out yet like weight and standard features, but I’m sure it will be just fine in the cold.
