Hi Yuki! im from India and beauty school is like a hobby for 90% of the ladies. there's no specific timed course but it's usually a 10month course. lot of people just train from someone who got trained professionally 😂. my mom and aunts went to beauty school too! they never worked in a parlour/salon. the neighbours were enough customers lol

Hi, I'm from Germany and since everything is highly regulated here, we have different schools for hairdressers and beauticians. You can start at 16 years of age (or older) and have to train for 3 years at a hair salon and attend some school classes (like math), after finishing you get your licence and are allowed to cut peoples hair. However, if you want to open your own salon, you have to attend a different school on top to get your "Meister".

ah I think France is similar. You can be hired as a hair stylist with the basic certificate/diploma, but you need a higher level (which includes some accounting classes) to open your own business.
In the UK a lot of salons "rent a chair" to hairstylists from the outside. They pay a fee to use the salon for their own customers, basically. mostly seen for barbers/men's cuts

Hello! i'm from Algeria and we don't have beauty schools here , but you can join some courses ( may last for few days, weeks, months... depending on the course ). The issue is that they teach techniques meant for straight hair, even tho the majority of the population got wavy/curly hair .
As a wavy haired myself, i've been struggling these few months to self- learn how to cut my hair 😂, i would highly apreciate it if you can help us self-learners to undrestand basic hair cutting skills🥰

Hello! I'm from Brazil. In my city there are some Hairstylist courses, but not exactly a beauty school. I'd like to learn how to cut hair, I find these things about hair super interesting. I did a better Hime haircut in myself, your tutorial helped a lot, I fixed what I had done lol

Hi Yuki! I’m from Moscow, Russia. We have free beauty schools for high school students, but most of them teach styles and techniques that were popular years ago 😢
We also have beauty schools that anyone can join, but they are pretty expensive, so online hair cutting courses became really popular last few years.

I see. Japanese beauty school is so expensive as well 😅
So I took an online class.
It seems like our country is in a similar situation.

Hi Yuki, I'm from Mexico, with us also exist schools where you learn the basics of everything, hair styles, permanent, color, make up, nails, hair cuts, facial cleaning, etc plus you get a class of administration (in case you open your own business) everything is done in 3 years in the end getting a certificate of your studies. Exist many schools, since public ones (courses by the government institution) till private. Of course all this is just the basics, they always tell you to get something extra (master) in the area what you likes more. I wished I have😅 done this together with my mom (i was just wasting my free time😅) but well, now i do it as a hobby (with the basis i get knew from my mom) just for my family (cause my husband doesn't likes the hairdresser and attend to use just the machine!!) So now your videos has help me a lot, I have a teenager daughter who loves all your haircuts do following it makes it easier for me😅.

Would love an online workshop from you!! I want to learn how to cut my own hair but no idea how to begin. So I just let it grow and it doesn't look flattering because my hair's flat with no volume lol
I was wondering if I can request hairstyle ideas? Of course you don't have to follow them

Hello from New York State!! So we have school here that takes different amount of time from state to state! We also have to pass state board exams!! They honestly just teach you more basic stuff here! Posting more in depth content would probably help others out! I've been licensed for 2 years, in 3 states, and Ontario Canada! All information is good for young barbers and stylist!

Hi Yuki! I’m in USA (state of Wisconsin) and we have hairstyling schools. The number of hours we have to be behind the chair is different for each state, when I went I had to be behind the chair for 1800 hours, while someone who lived in another state (Example: Illinois, which is bordering Wisconsin on the bottom) would only be required to be behind the chair 1600 hours.

@@SAMURAIbeauticiani’m from the us and looked into it as work and yes :) you deal with biology and chemistry (since you’re handling with chemicals like bleach and dyes) and really basic stuff like color wheels. even learning how to cut hair (of course) and even some beauty schools do services to the public for cheap. oh and also, if you do go to beauty school here you don’t just learn how to cut hair, you can also do nails and lashes i believe:)

I modeled for the makeup/hairstylist school in my hometown, so France definitely has schools (more like an academy?), I was one of the student's models for her final exam.
First years mostly do theory on mannequins, 2nd years can work on customers under the teacher's supervision (so they can correct if a haircut is not exactly well made).
Most of those are private but there is a state funded course, as part of the national education program, that grants you an official diploma at the end (though it covers quite basic skills, its not very creative techniques)
There are also hair styling competitions, accross the country and in europe.
Edit : hair styling and beauty are separate courses, but those are often BOTH available separately in the same academy. beauty means makeup. anything else related to skincare or makeup tattoo or eyebrows/lashes is "aesthetics"

Here in the U.S. you have to be licensed and the only way you can get it is through beauty schools. Not just for hair cutting or styling but also for braiding hair too. A lot of talented braiders end up working from home (which is illegal) bc it's too expensive for them to get licensed.

How many years do they go to school?

    • @drkmgic
      @drkmgic 11 місяців тому

@SAMURAIbeautician so in canada you take 1 year in school and take your appreticeship exam. You then get your apprenticeship license and you apprentice under somebody for 2 years. Then you take your final exam which is called a red seal and then you get your full license!
