Untill the first service; it's usually not recommended to ride aggressively or at high speed given the engine parts need some time to blend together. The insurance typically includes 1st year 1st party insurance which means it covers all the damage repair; free of cost of your vehicle, the rest 4 years are just third party insurance which is mandatory in India, this covers damage cover caused to another person's vehicle by our riding/driving. Idle cold start is a good practice especially during the first start in the early morning during winter, just for 1-3 mins running the engine before riding the scooty so as the engine oil gets spread across. The activa you showed of ur friend seems mid model, drum setup with steel wheel which will get rusted.
