i wonder if the russians now have their own version of this movie, in which a russian hero helps the taliban forces fight the invading American oppressors?
I was 8 years old ,l watched it at my Uncle's home since we did not have a video player at home. But the message and courage in that film helped me be strong and l thank God for Sylvester Stallone
Rodolfo A Yeah, but they changed the message at the end after the mujahideen split into the modern day fundamentalist groups we know today. You need the earlier copies to see the Mujahideen Fighters of Afghanistan message rather than the Gallant People of Afghanistan message

They are now too, for rusians, but for american they only enemy now who defeated them, again like Vietcong. :-) Vietcong is galant then too i see.... :-)
Quite an irony. Rambo risked his life to help those Afghan fighters in late 80s. 2 decades later, American soldiers fight in the same place to get rid of them. No lasting friends. No lasting enemies. Only lasting interests. Just like Winston Churchill quoted.
Originally, the movie was to end with Rambo driving away with Trautman. But, Rambo changes his mind and decides to stay with the rebels and says goodbye to Trautman and Trautman returns to America alone.

@@wyzen9542 you know Mujahideen is a general term for "holy warrior", right? And it's used for either the 1980s guerrillas and the contemporary terrorist groups. This film is dedicated to the brave Afghan people. And this need only remake so it would be to continue: This film is dedicated to a brave Afghan people who dusted off an Americans after 20 years of occupation. : D
