That lavendar grey and the monochrome outfit was absolutely stunning!
Thank you 🖤 (it was my favorite, too 😊)
I got incridiblt lucky to have a grandmother who taught and dressed others in kimono, so I recivied her collection after her passing. Your channel is so helpful in learning to how to wear it all properly
Love the gradient obi. The yellow and lavender was beautiful
Thank you 💜
The dark blue/ black one with yellow flowers are just stunning, I also am a big fan of matching sets. This video really makes me want to go back to Japan and look at all the thrift stores again ^^
Thank you for sharing your haul. Great fun to watch and I'm so grateful for the additional information. Your channel is just wonderful.
The Higaki pattern kimono is GOOOOOORGEOUS. Well, they all are, but I love that purple grey colour, the pattern, everything. The obi worn with it is perfect. Again, they're all lovely.
Oh, my! The second kimono and the last one were absolutely stunning!
Thank you 🤍 could it be that you like greyish purple tones? 😊
@@BillyMatsunaga Absolutely! I would so love to visit that shop with the 800 yen room. I've always wanted a kimono.
The last one was gorgeous!
Ohhh, I love it!
I was wondering if you have a video or if you could make a video, where you show how you can tell the difference of material used in obi or kimono and the difference in weaves. 💙
If there is too much information then can we get a series for it?
I’m covering this type of content on my Patreon, so I can really go into detail. On here I like to keep things casual 😊
As always, you have such beautiful kimono!❤❤❤ I loved the kumiobi the best! The colours were phenomenal!
Thank you 🧡
Now I need to go all the recycle stores in Japan and ‘not buy’ every pretty kimono and accessories.
That’s gonna be really hard! (I recommend to bring 2 empty suitcases 😂)
You said sin filks at 10:43
So many beautiful kimono and obi that it's hard to choose.
I have a question for you. Here in the US we have some costumers getting all upset and angry when a random white person wears clothing specific to a country or culture and screaming "cultural appropriation." Okay, maybe not literally screaming, but I think you understand. Specifically something like wearing Native American headdress or clothing when you're not Native American. So my question is, have you ever been accused of Cultural Appropriation when wearing kimono? Either by Japanese or by other non-Japanese people being gatekeepers and being offended by anything they deem wrong. There's no specific reason for me asking other than curiosity,
No, never! 😊
both dark kimonos look _stunning_ and I am shocked at how inexpensive the silk items you found are!
Btw, all items in this video are silk 😊 second hand kimono in Japan are really cheap!
They look so beautiful especially the lavender grey one. I dream of the day I can actually go to Japan and one of the things I look forward to doing would be shopping for thrift kimono, obi, and accessories as they are so expensive for me to buy here in the US. I think I may come home with a whole new wardrobe if I went to Japan.
Those colour combinations are so beautiful. You have such an eye for style, amazing. ❤
Thank you ☺️
can you do a video on retail vs recycle vs to rent vs to make in Yen vs usd vs euro?
That sounds like a fun video, but that’s gonna be so hard. Retail depends on the craft the kimono is made with, so it can differ between $300-$30,000 … you probably can tell that is why I will really have to think about how to make that video fair 🤔 But thanks for the awesome idea!!
Wow... You really know how to style and match colours really professionsly. Really good taste, ma'am✨
Thank you 😊
Hi Billy! I have been so obsessed with watching all of your videos. I have truly learned so much from you and now have the confidence to begin building my kimono wardrobe. It would be amazing to see your winter wardrobe to get some inspiration and tips on outfits for the chilly season in Japan 🩵
WONDERFUL HAUL ! The Lavender/Gray Iromuji & your selection of the geometric black/silver obi is fantastic - SO artistic
So many beautiful kimono and obi that it's hard to choose.

You don't mention fibre content! I am dying to know what fibres make up the kimono and obi. $8 makes me think polyester but.... ????? 😢
You really saved the best for last!
The Kyofukuro obi is stunning as well as the Hakata Ori and that last Kimono? All perfect for each other 😍😍😍
Inspiring and lovely. Your presentations are wonderful and I look forward to every one of them. Thank you Matsunaga-san💕
Wow, all of them were my favorite. We don't have thrift stores like that in Kentucky. All of your kimonos are beautiful. Thanks for sharing them with us.
My favourite outfit is the green edo komon + kyofukuro obi from Cocoroya, the ensemble is so beautiful
It seems I’m one of the view people who love ensemble outfits 😂 and it’s actually cool enough in Germany to wear them so I might venture out and visit our local deer in the Tierpark ☺️
It is so hard to choose a favorite, this is one of my fave hauls ❤ they are all so unique and beautiful. Thank you for sharing these, I’m learning I really need to visit Osaka to go thrifting!
They are all gorgeous, I can't choose.
They are all so pretty but I liked the blue and yellow flower one best. Also I liked the last obi, the colors were just so pretty. Thank you for sharing with us!
If you feel like it, you should do more hauls in the future!! I really like seeing different kinds of kimono 💕 my favourites are the darker ones but i have to admit that the grey/purple one is absolutely gorgeous!
The kimonos and obi are so elegant and beautiful. I love to watch you style them and I learn so much. Thank you
The edo-komon outfit is by far my favorite! This blue/green is unbelievable.
Wow thai silk 😳
Im thai and i think thai silk fabric pattern are not suitable for kimono but may look good for obi. now i can see it. nice one ♥️
I like best irumoji, higaki pattern with Nagoja obi, great style
I have a very similar kimono to your favourite one. I totally get what you’re saying. I use it as a robe at home 😅
I love every outfit, but the most stunning for me is the iromuji in lavender gray.
All of them are gorgeous and the two grey-ish ones go great with your current hair color. Love it!
the lavender grey and the last lavender with the gradient obi are my favorite ones from this video.
I love the last two Obi, and all the kimono but especially the ensemble.
Das "midnight blue" fängt mich aufgrund der Tiefe. Das gelbe Blumenmuster macht sich da richtig gut drauf. Gefällt mir am besten.
Wow. You really scored with this haul. Gorgeous.
the pink patterned obiage under the tai silk obi really speaks to me XD. But the tai obi is amazing, pink and blue IG group representing.
Thank you 😊 the obiage is from @ayaayaskimono on IG
Each of these outfits is beautiful, but I'm most fascinated by the kumiobi. I've done some thin kumihimo and I can only imagine the complexity of braiding something so wide!
Thank you as always for all your content, the education and inspiration are priceless.
Yeah, it must be super complex to braid 🙈❤️ that’s wary they’re so expensive.
Hey Billy! You inspired me to get my first kimono and I’m loving it! I’m working on a video showcasing it and reviewing the website I got it from!
I loved when the obi matched your hair 💕
Hello Billy!! thank you very much for this great video with these beautiful kimono in bright colors!! Too bad there aren't so many bright colors for men's kimonos.
Great vidéo👏👍!!
That’s indeed super sad 😰
Great haul!!! I feel Tsumugi kimono are underappreciated. They become softer the more they are worn and they just look classic. I cant wait to go kimono shopping in Japan. Super great finds!
Where I live, tsumugi are the most worn kimono. You barely see anything else being worn as casual kimono. So definitely not unappreciated. Also, some tsumugi weaves take almost a decade to finally become softer and they’re famous for that.
At first I thought there could be nothing better than the lavender grey with the gorgeous graphic obi, but the last outfit is at least as gorgeous. I just love chirimen silk, the pattern is darling and the gradation obi is wonderful. Also, the Edo-komon kimono and the midnight blue check kimono are very, very beautiful. Also, the combination one. Honestly, I admire your (comparative) restraint in this very well stocked shop ;-)
Well, not all kimono fit. So it’s easy to not buy too much 😊
I love love kyofukuro obi, I prefer them to the regular nagoya obi, and the one that you bought is extremely beautiful!
I totally agree, Kyofukuro are awesome!! ❤️
I love seeing the beautiful outfits you find! That lavender one is gorgeous. I am nearby in Sasebo the next couple years and started taking kimono lessons here. I am a proud thrift store shopper!!! I’ll need to swing by the next Hakozaki market after watching that video ❤
Oh, you’ll love Hakozaki!! ❤️
I love how you match kimono and Obi! They look so beautiful. Honestly looking at those kimono I would have passed them up because they’re too “plain” for me, but when you put the right Obi on with them they look SO beautiful. I would love to see a video on how you style your kimono and Obi. I’m so bad at that. I’m starting to get a big kimono and Obi collection but idk how to style them together. 😬
I’ve already have a few videos like that on my channel. You might want to check them out 😊
It was so pretty, interesting, and informative. I am shocked by the second hand prices. I wish you had explained the price change between used and new. Even the thrift stores here don't mark down clothes that much. Maybe... and I'm curious about what the situation is and why.
That’s super complicated, but keep in mind that the super cheap second hand kimono very often have weird tailoring or are stained or have been in the store already for years.
I love all the combinations but that Thai silk ikat obi is the best. I have a skirt I found second hand with that kind of woven pattern. I took some courses in dyeing techniques and that one just stuns me. I can't wrap my head around dying the threads and then weaving and have the pattern appear like magic!
Yeah, I find it stunning, too. 💕
It's always such a delight to get a look into the world of kimono! Thank you!
I really liked the dark blue kimono with the line pattern!!
Thanks for watching 😊
You mentioned that you're considered pretty tall in Japan. If I may ask, how tall are you in cm?
I’m 164cm 😊
Everything is so lovely!!
I loved the lavender kimono and the gray kimono. And the obis were so gorgeous.
I am really surprised everytime how little these outfits cost when bought in a secondhand store!! They all look so beautiful!!
Yes!! It’s really surprising how inexpensive some items can be 😰
I really love your hair color
That kumiobi is stunning! And I also love that hakata ori Obi too. ❤️
Hehe! Those 2 are definitely gonna be worn a lot 🧡
I’m in love with the color of the iromuji and with that outfit in general ❤
I liked it so much, too! I really didn’t want to take this outfit off 🙈🙈💕
The last outfit, the obi looks like a sunset with the grass on the kimono.
That’s the vibe I was going for 💜
Beautiful - descriptions so helpful.
Thanks for watching 😊
Dear Billy, thankyou for showing all your beautiful outfits.🙏🏽 I like bright colours, so I love that stunning Thai silk obi, but maybe my favourite of all was the pale lavender kimono with such a bold, graphic obi. Your combinations are always so pleasing! Thankyou, from Czechia
Thank you 💕💕
I loved all of them!
Thank you ❤️
Your such a inspiration for me. As someone who LOVES to wear kimonos and isn’t A: isn’t Japanese and B: Lives in America I get self conscious sometimes and struggles to justify wearing kimonos in public. But when I see you wear and style kimonos makes me feel confident again, thank you so much for making videos and content👘❤️
Can you put the address of these kimono stores in the description box 😅 I'll like to go there whenever I go to Japan. Thank you for the video, these kimonos are so beautiful 😍
I’ve linked their IG and FB in the description box 😉
My favorites are the Obi’s you just showed. Beautiful, vibrant colors.
Thank you 💕
I love how to blue/pink kyofukuro obi matches your hair! 😊
Hehe! Thank you 😊
The obi colours are so beautiful…❤️
Thank you 😊
Thank you 😊
The screaming, screeching, whatever is at the beginning is an absolute turn off. I’m out of here.
That's the best part
Obviously the best intro to sort out viewers who don’t appreciate Japanese culture 😉
