The decline in tourism in Ladakh can be attributed to the actions of the taxi union. The hotel rates are reasonable, but the taxi rates are very expensive and unreasonable. Think about it: if a person can do international tours for the same prices as of Ladakh, what will the tourist choose?
Also, since Kashmir's normalcy is improving day by day, people are preferring to visit Kashmir instead, because they offer half rates compared to that of Ladakh!
