I am honestly not sure, so this is not meant as a "gotcha" comment but are you sure the harvesting of hay in "August" is not actually grain? That said, I seem to get the two mixed up in real life, as well, being a hapless city dweller. ;)
Thanks for your interest in the video! As an educator, I’m always happy to take questions and make corrections! You are certainly right about the wheat harvest taking place in the August scene, and I simply misspoke here, so I’m glad you pointed that out! 😊
@@DiamondIn-Sights And just to be clear, I enjoyed your video tremendously! :) As for the hay/grain issue, I might have a weird upper hand in detecting the difference and relating the labour with the month, namely mother tongue. I am a Finn, and in the Finnish language the calendar months are mostly named after "labours of the months." So, according to that agricultural logic, July and August are called "hay month" (for haymaking) and "(grain) harvest month" in that order. That said, Finland, located in Northern Europe, is somewhat lagging behind the growing season rhythms of Western and Central Europe, meaning that grain harvesting is already going on in the latter areas during July when Northerners are still caught up in making hay. And to make things even more complicated and if I am not mistaken (which, in things like agriculture, so far removed from my milquetoast existence, is a definite possibility), haymaking is spread over a longer summer period in both spheres than is grain harvesting. So the "August" picture might very well have been about hay. :)
@@hannamakela6989 Thanks for the input; that's very interesting! The depiction aligns well with traditional iconography for the harvest of wheat and wheat sheaves, and my sources say "wheat" as well, so I'm sure I just misspoke. Even so, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video! (Although it probably deserves a re-make at some point!)😊

@@DiamondIn-Sights Not because of this anecdote, I am sure! As for the rest, I found absolutely no fault with it! :)
