Wow that was fast! I remember your post on Facebook when buying the car. I was a fan of the black and gold, but have to commend you for your work here! Great job. Greetings from VIN 1647
Thank you. The black and gold paint was starting to look really tired in places, and one of the main points about the DeLorean is the stainless body. I took a massive gamble, buying a painted car to strip, but it definitely paid off!
Nice work. I saw your DeLorean up for sale here in the US when I started to research to buy one. I was always leery of the painted ones since a lot could be hidden under the paint. I’m glad everything went well with retuning it to its original stainless glory. I just bought VIN 02782 from DMC in Florida. They are currently doing restoration work on it to make it as good as new.
Thank you. It was a massive gamble, buying a painted car to strip, but it really did pay off. I've hit the jackpot with this car! Good luck with your purchase, and I hope 2782 makes you as happy as 1227 makes me
Well done, awesome job! May i ask you how much did it cost just to import the car from USA to UK? Or if you have a link that show the prices to import cars from USA to EU. Thak you!
Thank you, glad you liked it. I paid £1300 to have the car shipped from New York to Liverpool. Once in the UK, I had £900 vat to pay. After preparing the car for MOT, I had to pay £320 which was made up of £50 first registration fee and £270 for a year's road tax. Luckily next year it will be tax exempt as it turns 40 in April
Great Improvement Dave.. Fantastic transformation!! The brushed stainless steel is the only way a DeLorean should be!!👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you. I was unsure at first, given the story with the car was pretty cool. Looking at the finished job though, I'm glad I did it!
