Bro your video just helped me out !!!! I been hunting why I don’t get that ac bump and it’s because the purple/blk wire isn’t connected . I just jumped it together and it works like it’s supposed to now !❤❤❤❤❤ so that wiring for the ac is for ac bump just to clarify 😂😂😂
Keep it up man! 🔥 I have a question plz Im gonna swap my e30 its 320i late model and swap it with m20b25 engine Do i need to change the loom ? I know im gonna chabge the(ecu, fuel nozzles,etc...) Soo the point is Is there any difference between m20b20 loom and m20b25 loom ? ❤
Unfortunately we did not get the m20b20 here in the US so Unfortunately I dont know. Although normally you keep the engine harness with the motor your using. But if all the pin outs are the same since it's a late model and all the sensors are the same. It would be fine. But like I said I'm not sure. Sorry!
@@themaskeddriver yeah its the same as m20b27 but with minor differences , and yeah the pins are the same and the same for the sensors, im gonna swap it next week i hope it works without any problems. Cheers man!
So if I got this right after making sure the new late model engine harness has each c101 pins ran to the same spot and removing uneeded pins as well as just removing pin 20 if needed then all you gotta do is get those wires for your ac, tach, speed, and fuel wired in to the c104 then you should be able to throw in a m20b25 with no issues correct?
Yes...realistically you should be running whatever engine harness to match your chassis harness. This was kinda a headache but will be more understood in future videos
@@themaskeddriver I’m just trying to figure it out as I have a early model car that I have built a stroker m20b25 for and so hoping to be able to atleast use the features I had in my car
Correct. Obviously you want to quickly check and make sure pins are in the right place but 87 325i harness is the best of all the early model harnesses. I do have one available it just needs a power wire changed out. Which I also have on the side
Yes it runs though the chassis harness to the 3 pin connector on the late model harness (only two pins actually being used if I remember it's the black/red (ac) and a black purple. From the 3 pin connector it goes into engine harness and then into the ecu
Hello, would you be so kind and help me please? I have E30 325i fom 1987 and the pevious owner ruin the eletricity. He mixed up early and late model of harnes. Everythink in the car works fine but my fuel economy gauge does not work. When i split the C101 connector in the top part of the connector I can see pin number 8. But in the bottom part of the connector there is a free space in a slot for pin number 8. When I check the connector under the glove box I can see the C104 connector with white/black cable. But it is not conneccted anywhere. Would you be please so kind and help me where should I get the signal of the fuel economy? After that should I just put it in the blue connector behind the cluster to pin number 11? Iam not very good at electricity so I will be glad for any help. Thank you
One way would be to add the pin to the bottom side of the c101 and then 'T' it into the wiring going to the cluster (not actually adding to the blue connector) or run the wiring back through the engine harness to the ecu and to the c104 plug
@ I’m a complete beginner when it comes to electricity. I’m not sure I understand - can I simply connect the wires from C104 to the blue connector behind the cluster? Also, where do the signals of the fuel economy gauge come from? Is it possible to add wires directly from the engine bay to the blue connector, or does it have to go through ECU? Thank you for your advice
If you are using a late model engine harness on an early model chassis harness. You will basically be following this video. I should where to 'T' into for the few things
@@themaskeddriver I watched the video for multiple times and I have a slightly different problem. I have pins 8 and 9 in the upper half of the C101 connector (round connector) but I don’t have those pins in the bottom half. Can you please give me any advice where should cables from the bottom half go?

Falks tool only worked on a couple mins for me unfortunately, I just said screw it cut and put a Dt connector lol

No

If just use an early model 87 325i harness and make your life easy
@@themaskeddriver oh okay, so the early 87 engine harness has the same c101 and 104 connectors as any early car other then square plug early cars?

im lost on the ac switch, doesnt it need to connect to the ecu?

@@themaskeddriveryea I’m doing ur swap flipped. Late model chassis early harness
Why? If it's an m20 there is no reason to use the early model harness!!!!!!
@@themaskeddriverbecause it’s what I had on deck . My original was damaged beyond repair and I had a spare . So i basically merged the 2
Sell the early (which is probably too late) and sell the late and just buy a late model harness. No point in going through all this headache!

Please shoot me a dm on Instagram and I'll try and help. But whatever 8 and 9 is you need to find in the chassis harness if they are needed
