Wow solid video Chris! Good editing, clean audio quality, good music to fill in when needed. Like the balance of hand shots and close ups of screen only. That black background also helps with contrast. I'm sure this one took longer, but hopefully they're becoming easier to make. Nice touches with the animated elements. I don't like large bugs where you can see their fur or are big enough that you can feel the crunch if you happen to step on them.
Since I admitted in this video that I'm terrified of bats-I think it's only fair that you tell me what you're scared of. 😅 So what is it?? 😈💩☠👺👹👻🙈💣👨🌾🕵♂🤴👸🧙🧞🧟🧛🐯🦁🦫🦇
What a fun tutorial! Thank you. Is there any way to make the bats smaller at the start of their path so they look like they’re getting closer as they fly?
Thanks! You could make them smaller to start and then use the grow setting in path settings. I have more tips in this newer video as well: ua-cam.com/video/5IDJWtePRAc/v-deo.htmlsi=C4PnxyZuOwNdJ8zy
Thanks for doing this video Chris. Let's see more of these kinds of animations. I learned a lot from this. Could you do a video about how you animated the rat and bat popups that feature as peripheral animations in this video? It would be great to see how you did them, especially how you animated the rat's eyes blinking, and the way the bat scaled up. Thanks once again.
Thanks for the comment. Glad you liked the video. I’m definitely planning on making more videos going into my process for this kind of thing. Just need to find the time to get them all done!
Thanks for this! I think you forgot to turn back on the setting to make the bats adjust their direction on the path, still looks great without it tho. Lovely work!
Creating animation in Procreate is a pain in the blackest hole. I was impressed with the onion skins but when you did the scatter effect... I WAS SOLD! I'll be buying Fr when I get paid. I'll probably still use Procreate for fun but Fresco will be my guru tool.
That was really awesome, thank you! I will definitely come back to this video as I’m very curious about Fresco! Does the free version have all the animation capabilities?
Glad you liked it! I’m fairly certain the only difference between the free and paid version is slightly limited brushes and less creative cloud storage.
Yes, Tor - animation capabilities are all in the free version. And Chris is correct: free version gives you all the features and most of the brushes. You could do pro work of any kind, start to finish in the free version. But the paid version is now only $9.99/Year. So, that works out to about 2.7 cents per day. I’d say that’s a pretty amazing deal.
@@kyletwebster thanks for clarifying Kyle! Definitely agree it’s a great deal. I pay a lot more for apps that don’t provide nearly the value Fresco does.
IS there a way to use path but with a straight line o do i have to use trasform tool? i make an example. I want to animate a bullet but if i use the path the bullet sway which is not normal for a bullet
Yes.... there's a option for scale of different shapes given at the bottom right corner.... Navigate a lil bit and you'll find it. You can first select the path option then select the scale of any type( adjust its position or transform it to your desired shape) then draw the path.
One question, please I draw pictures and try to make gif files on my iPad. The problem is that when i save in my iPad and upload online for sale, there's a little white border line around my gif Are there any ways to do to remove this line on my iPad? Thanks in advance
I've noticed that Fresco doesn't currently do a great job exporting transparent background GIFs. I think this is something they are working on (I hope). When I need an animation with transparency to be very clean I end up exporting a PNG sequence in the motion options and then bringing it into Photoshop. It's definitely not the easiest way to do things, but it does work well.
Generally you don’t want to increase your resolution into a project as everything you already created is already stuck at a lower resolution. Also, all of the motion you already did is also having to make up pixels that weren’t there to begin with and all of it had to be scaled up. So there’s lots of variables unfortunately. What is your current pixel dimensions? I’d recommend just worrying about pixel dimensions and not PPI when creating things for screen because PPI only matters in regard to inches, which don’t exist on screen.
@@chris-piascik thanks appreciate the response! Unfortunately I asked you after I had already changed the ppi 😅 The pixels are at 8192x6141. I don’t think that’s what it was at before I changed it tho. Now the animation is super glitchy, idk if it’s too big of a file now or what
@@deeecreates950 Ahh yeah, that's massive. That's big enough that it could be printed at over 27 inches wide. That's almost triple 4k resolution. I'd stick to the close to 4k resolution for animation, 3840 pixels wide.
Thanks for this, what brushes de you use? are yours? where can I get them? or they're installed in the app already. I'll sue fresco from now, is way better than procreate
Glad you liked it! The brushes I typically use are the RetroSuppy liner set (fresco uses the photoshop brushes), there’s a link in the description. That said, I also love a lot of Kyle Webster’s brushes that you can add for free within fresco.
When I click path, a start point appears and when I draw the path, another start point appears so I end up with one moving and one static, does anyone know why? I can't find any answers
Thanks Dave! That's crazy they're closer to primates! I can't tell if that makes it bette or worse? I guess a monkey fairy sounds less scary than a flying rat.
Do you know if/when Fresco will ever be designed to play well with Adobe Animate? At the moment I’m not seeing any real ways to import a Fresco timeline into Animate or Vice Versa.
Unfortunately I have no idea. I don’t use Adobe Animate or know much about how it works. I think the issue would be in the way Adobe animate uses a full timeline for everything because it’s an actual animation app whereas Fresco is about continuous motion in an otherwise static image.
@@chris-piascik Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, your answer makes sense. Animate's actual animation features are pretty intense so restricting what goes into its timeline is probably important to its functionality. I was playing around with Fresco yesterday after watching this vid and I still think a Fresco to Animate workflow is possible as long as your only ambition is creating vector artwork to import into Animate. Still tho... it would be amazing if Adobe decided to throw Animate a bone and make it play nice with an app like Fresco.

My animation (mp4) is only playing once through, not looping like this. Does anyone know why? It is set to loop in the timeline
Video files can’t loop on their own, but if you post it on Instagram it will automatically loop. For other applications you’ll need a Gif.
