Wow, what a selection of international cuisine , back in the 60s/70s it was chips/ hotdog's / burger and pots of peas.. don't think 50 quid would go far these days ...always got a fairy on a stick when we left the fair . Let me know if you see any 😂😂
Yes, things have certainly changed on the Goose Fair food front compared to the 60s/70s, but the mushy peas, one of my favourites are still in situ and I’m confident they’re here to stay. I can’t remember ever seeing the fairies on a stick you mention; maybe it was that I just never noticed them at the time. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Until I watched this Vid I didn't know the Fair would last 10 days this year. and that It's the third time since the pandemic that the event's had an extended run. The fair usually starts on the first Wednesday in October and closes on the Sunday. But, this year's fair started on Friday, September 27 & will end on Sunday, 6th of October. Odd to see the trees so green. Bye!
As far as I can remember it always used to start on the first Thursday in October as a three-day event. Then it was extended to four days (can’t remember when), and in 2009 it was extended from four to five days, and then ten-days as you mantion.
