Laze Bee is the best rc airplane ever designed in my opinion. Up until now they use to say that in order to fly Lazy Bee it needs something in front of it to spin a prop...well not any more. Thank you for sharing
An absolutely stunning build. The Lazy Bee never looked better. The Lazy Bee was a Wonderful plane to fly. Even the Cox RC Model version, Styrofoam with a tiny .049 engine, was a joy to fly (for those of us not graced with such beautiful sloping conditions). The tiny engine would give you about 4 minutes of power to climb with, then we could spend 15, even 20 minutes aloft. When my Father and I first got a matching set and took them to our local flying field we got GRILLED about "What the heck is that, and how are you staying up so long?"
A glider should be... Everything that this Lazy Bee is! Funny, light and very easy to control (i guess). I saw the plans and there’s a real masterpiece of engineering behind all that "simplicity" and those well chosen colours... Your work result is absolutely and ridiculously fun! That’s how a glider should be...
Absolutely Brilliant!!! And at the same time, absolutely hilarious! I've built at least half-a-dozen "Bees" over the years. From 30" span to 84" span, one of them was even a tri-motor, but I never considered this option. By the way, the outside loops are almost as tight as the upright ones. It gets back around so quickly that it doesn't have time misbehave. Although it does take a good bit of power, so I'm not sure how it would work out in this situation. Even if things do go wrong, the recovery is always quick. They will also spin like a top with a minor CG adjustment. As always, the build quality is superb, the piloting spectacular, and the camera work stupendous! Well done to the whole crew!
That was a joy to watch. Not many will skip before the end of that one. I think too we must conclude you are a master pilot as well as a master builder John. That was very smooth for a "short-wheelbase" model. And, as ever, too easily taken for granted, the camera work (we know who it is now) was as good as the model and the flying. Eagerly looking forward to the next post.
p S yes, it’s dead easy to fly! It’s super stable ‘hands off’ but it’s probably not a very efficient glider on an inland slope. The conversion was an easy one as the only bit I changed was the nose.
John I love your videos. I look forward to getting a notification you have a new video out. You are obviously a great builder and make them very light! I think a build video showing how you do it might be interesting to some of us...
Amazing piloting skills and fantastic build. Be very proud of yourself and keep the videos coming for the rest of of us to be amazed with in the future. Just show us how you did all this build.
@neville rodrigues, look the plans up, but be warned: there are 40", 60" and 72" plans out there. Whichever you get, make sure the ribs length corresponds to the wingspan you wish to build. Good project for isolation during Corona Virus times.
It's very nature-like. As flying insects. Tiny, lightweight, excellent maneuverability. Most of flying insects has short wings, and using high surface-to-mass ratio.
Love it. Built many of the smaller size LB. Have a Big Bee in the box for a future build. I can see this at Torrey Pines. Thanks for the inspiration 😎‼️
Excellent :-) It reminds me of a short legs dog, who should be considered ugly by common standard, but who in fact is the one everybody finds cute . Lazy? Nooooo So much room for creativity: a delight to watch
By the title i expected to see some uncontrollable beast that would crash if you looked at it wrong. But no, John has yet another of many successes. Please do a video on your build techniques!
I so enjoy your videos, particularly Lazy Bee which seems to have arranged a special exemption deal with gravity. Wonderful. I wonder if you’ve ever ‘lost’ one and had to climb down to the beach for recovery.
Hey John, love your flying and the stable of gliders you have built and flown. I am building a Lazy Bee at this time and plan to scratch build another following the frame job on the example in this video. What is the all up weight of your Lazy Bee?
for some reason i still have the fuselage to the old cox lazy bee i remember from my childhood. no wing or tail (still have some engines) i'd never imagine that style of plane making a good sail plane
....all up weight is? Also, I don't have decent slope conditions, is there one with a folding electric prop? This reminds me of 30 years ago with my Gentle Lady on a mild slope. In fact, that kind of looks like the Gentle Lady's midget brother who took too many steroids.
I sure would like to have one of those! Could include a link to the kit if you built it from a kit. I think maybe you along with more than a few of us should start an Aircraft Anonymous. Your models and flying are addictive! GREAT FUN
Hello, Congratulations on this beautiful big lazy bee 72 " who flies to perfection. If I dared I would do a motorized glider version with a brushles. What and its weight in flight order?
@@SlopeRCGliders I think you would make a small fortune if you offered plans for your beautiful creations. If you have any available let us know. We would love to build some.
This just shows us the power of the rudder during flight 2 axis control only
Now that's how you HOVER! Great Flying. Absolutely beautiful ridge and very cool model.
Absolutely wonderful! Your Lazy Bee Glider has inspired me to scratch build again after a 20+ year break. Thank you!
Fabulous stuff. I really enjoy building and there is nothing else like flying something you have scratch built yourself.

Cee64E I agree, it’s certainly a fun model. I may build a standard size one next..
@@SlopeRCGliders, well if you do get some nice close-ups, too. Such pretty builds should be appreciated.
Thank you John! It's amazing! All the world is enjoying with you! Greetings from Krakow, Poland!

I love it, a Dancing Bee and comical to watch. What fun everything a glider should Bee
Where can I buy the Lazy Bee?
Beautifully built and trimed. Great choice of location. Love the way it just floats away!. Suddenly I need to biuld one!!.
Dancing in the air! Lovely plane, great music and a master Pilot !!!
Bernardo H thank you
What a sweetheart of an aircraft. A joy to watch John and beautifully flown too. Well done. 👍🏻 Steve.
Steve Easton thank you
Superb and everything a glider SHOULD be...by far the best rc plane I have ever seen... excellent flying, great filming and perfectly matched music.
p S thank you!
Does it fly as easily and relaxed as you make it look? And was the conversion straight forward?
p S yes, it’s dead easy to fly! It’s super stable ‘hands off’ but it’s probably not a very efficient glider on an inland slope. The conversion was an easy one as the only bit I changed was the nose.
when it grows up it will be beautiful glider , the flying characteristics are amazing, such a beautiful little bird :)
There are 72" wingspan versions, but the portability of this baby is a big plus.
It is so peaceful to watch you fly, amazing. Thank you for posting.
You took the words out of my mouth. So smooth... Really amazing!

Model Aviator Adventures quite a few people seem to want to see a build video. I will have to do one sometime! Lightness is definitely the key
Sometimes the "simplicity" of things is an extremely difficult thing to achieve. You've done it quite well :)
That is just too damn cool!! J. L. Seagull would be envious.
Thats excellent, an RC glider that is'nt a little dot in the sky. You can see the control surfacees working!
Thank you. Glad you like it!
@@SlopeRCGliders Aha, the LB is the A-10 Warthog of the gliders: C.A.S - Close Air Sport! Add ailerons and it can become acrobatic.
I love this! I love, love, LOVE this!!! Thanks for sharing the grace and joy!
Looks like a pet wanting to play.
Outstanding as Always.

Most excellent! Again, you have added a bit of light to my morning! Thank you!
You "did" it again !!!! Awesome ... like a "ballerina" on ice .. this thing is a beauty indeed. !!!
Excellent. 👍🏼 👍🏼 👍🏼 You park that plane in the air... LOL
I just Love this Chubby little Bird ..!!!! a joy to watch..!
Another Stunner John, and it hovers like my TRex-Love it.
You made me madly want this plane. What a beauty! Nice video. Very nice, very good to watch, you made me better mood! Thanks!
Great model, great flying, and as usual, outstanding camerawork ;-)
Beautiful video as usual.
Lazy Bees make me smile
Thankyou for the video.
Again excellent music.
Fun video!
Mike Upton thank you!
Obliviously, the air and that plane love each other so much... So lovely
Great! Reminds me of a cartoon-version of a Gentle Lady; same shape, just stubbier.
That transparent monokote smells nice when you heat it up!
Yes, I love that smell too
Beautiful, elegant, Siow & easy, enjoy your day at the shore John.
Love that Lazy Bee, music by ole Amadeus not too shabby either . . .
BINGO! The music was perfect.
Hello ,
I am excited and I would love to build the plane.
Can you get a plan somewhere? Thank you for answer .
Turns in its own wingspan :) Must be feather-light. Joy to watch, tnx :)
Darned cute if you ask me! Seems to float rather well and a bit acrobatic!
That was beautiful.
And sorta like Chris Farley dancing ballet...
I've watched this 4 times now and it doesn't grow old! Love it. Thanks.
Thank you for watching!
god how can it glide so gracefully and derpy at the same time
How do you keep from throwing your back out on those launches? :)
Hahahaha too funny
Please let me know how can I get it
Laughed way harder at this than I should have.
SkyB777888 videos Type RC lazy bee into Google... are you being serious?
@@rideronthewhitehorse I think John have made a "few" changes on this one compared to the original.
Of all your gliders the BLB is my favourite. It has the same loveable dopey beauty as my friend's springer spaniel.
Love how the glider flies smoothly.i would be great if you could make a build video.
abhishek gyani I may build another smaller one and do a build video

THAT looks like a lot of fun. Turns and loops in a couple of fuselage lengths? No problem.
lolls about like a happy puppy - great little flyer - I want one!
Videography second to none. And I'm SO glad you don't shoot in Moronoscope (vertical videos).
Yes, I find those annoying too.
Excellent :-)

Lazy? Nooooo
So much room for creativity: a delight to watch
SWEEEET ! I LOVE WATCHING THE FRUIT OF INTELLIGENCE ! NICE JOB !
Haven't flown an rc glider for 30 years and now I want t get back in to it!
That looks so cool. I want one.
It has character : I like how it 'flops the loop' and 'wallows in lift'.
the wings were made from a skateboard !
Nice soaring video i love this stable glider
wonderful colour composition!
This is totally awesome. What a beautiful Glider ! 👍
Thank you.
Masterful flying. A joy to watch!
Thank you
Lol ... fantastic ... where do you keep them all!
Lazy bee is an amazing plane. Cant believe how different it is than traditional thinking about planes but yet how well it works.
By the title i expected to see some uncontrollable beast that would crash if you looked at it wrong. But no, John has yet another of many successes.
Please do a video on your build techniques!
Now that is a sweet flying glider, it looks like it would float on a fart.
DELIGHTFUL Plane to watch! THANKS FOR POSTING!
Thank you for watching!
That is hysterical! Very nice.
Flawless piloting!
Very nice. Your green biplane is still favourite, though
Fabulous...like a well behaved puppy :)

"Whimsical" might be the word for this, love it. With a flying site like that available I'd never be seen again.
Love this video, and you fly the Lazy Bee like a real pro!
Thank you!
"Thumbs up" for the lowest aspect ratio I´ve ever seen on this (excellent) channel : )
Excellent performance and very nice music. Can you give info on how could I find building plans or kit for such a beautiful glider?
Claudio carrelli thank you. I download the plans for free from Outerzone website. (Big Lazy Bee) but changed the nose to turn it into a glider.
@@SlopeRCGliders Thanks John. Did you use only two channels, or more? I do not see any control on wings
Claudio carrelli it’s just two channel, but there are plans for a three channel version with ailerons.
Very cool! What next? Flying Flea?
Glider is as balanced as the music you chose, thanks for the video.
John. Do you sell these, sell plans, have a store etc? Really intrested in this as a hobby . Just turned 59 and starting to buy toys instead of tools.
Beautiful model and so well flown, what great fun :)
Hi John, can you tell us what size wing etc for your Lazy Bee? Thank you!
I have your Lazy Bee videos bookmarked. They are therapeutic.
Thank you. So glad you enjoy the videos
Hey John, love your flying and the stable of gliders you have built and flown. I am building a Lazy Bee at this time and plan to scratch build another following the frame job on the example in this video. What is the all up weight of your Lazy Bee?
Hi there Russ. The Lazy Bee is certainly fun to fly. My one came in under 1kg but I’d have to weigh it to see exactly how much.
not only are your builds so well made and your planes good looking, you fly them with amazing skills
Thank you!
It's always fun to do something different . Have you tried sloping a 3D plane ?
Albert Vanderlyn nope, not yet.....
Just fantastic. How big is the negative angle of attack from elevator to wing?
Love it! I'm using the same colour scheme in my gliders :-)
Low wing loading does that. And it is a joy to play around with that.
for some reason i still have the fuselage to the old cox lazy bee i remember from my childhood. no wing or tail (still have some engines) i'd never imagine that style of plane making a good sail plane
Even more stunning then usual, do you have a plan available ? regards, David.
David Firth I downloaded the plan from outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=2799. I just changed it slightly to turn it into a glider.
you have the best site and the best wind dood, your models are epic :)
A beautiful build. Everything a glider shouldn't be - but does it so well!
Now that’s what I call a wide wing chord! Steady Eddy lol

Techno Xtreme the original design is for a powered model. I changed it into a glider.
That has to be the most relaxed spins and loops of any plane.

pieter bezuidenhout thank you. I flew it again today so I’ll upload some more footage soon.
Any chance you have a digitized version of the modified plans? We would love to build one of these!!!
