We'll be rolling this feature out slowly as we check for bugs, so if you don't have it yet, sit tight! Also, in order to access this feature, make sure your iPhone is updated to iOS 17.4 and your YNAB app is updated to version 24.3.
Currently, this feature is exclusively available for users in the US, as Apple Card, Apple Cash, and Savings with Apple Card are limited to the US.
Canadian here…soon come PLEASE!

This is a GREAT feature! Any chance you will make this available on other credit cards?
Most of the control there is in the hands of the companies who issue these cards, so it's possible, but we can't make any hard promises. I'm fairly hopeful that we'll see this same functionality with other credit cards inside your Apple Wallet in the future, but we don't have any power to make that happen. 🙃

What happens if you already had your Card account as an unlinked account?
Never mind. I figured out that if you edit your existing unlinked account, you can link it as described in the video.

How will this affect the manual I account I currently have in YNAB with apple financing? What do I need to do to make sure adding the linked account won't screw up my balances payments, etc?
It shouldn't have any impact on an unlinked account. Apple Financing isn't included in this feature, so it shouldn't cause any wrinkles. 🙂

I’m not gonna lie, I got emotional when connecting my accounts. I’ve been begging for this for years. And just making it work. I love my Daily Cash back with Apple Card.
I had my apple card as an unlinked account and went through the steps in this video and it just created another account even though it was the same name. Was there an option to just link the unlinked account? I know have two accounts...not sure what to do...can I delete the original unlinked one that I created?
As far as I know, there's no way to just convert an unlinked account into a linked one, so it makes sense to me that it made another account.
You can simply close the unlinked account (I'm pretty sure you're not even allowed to full-on delete it if it has transactions in it 🙃). That way, YNAB will still keep all your transaction history from the unlinked account, but the account itself will be hidden in your sidebar.

Does this work in Australia/New Zealand for any Apple Pay transactions using any Visa Card in my Apple Wallet?
This update only applies specifically to Apple Card, Apple Cash, and Savings with Apple Card, so not yet. (I'm hopeful we'll move in that direction eventually, but a lot of that is outside our control, unfortunately.)

Why only US? :/
Is this the same as Apple Pay? That’s already linked to my debit card and don’t want to open a new account on YNAB.
Apple Pay and Apple Card are different! Apple Card is a physical card/number (unlike Apple Pay, where you link *other* personal cards to your Apple Wallet), and it imports transactions into YNAB literally RIGHT at the point of purchase-it's instant, no one or two day delay!

Is that available in Canada too?
Currently, this feature only works for Apple Card, Apple Cash, and Savings with Apple Card, which are only available in the US. I'm optimistic we'll get more Apple Wallet functionality in the future, but a lot of that is out of our control. 🙃

EDIT: Yup, its not available. Some constructive feedback, marketing a feature to customers only to take away it from them is extremely bad for user experience. It would be better if you did not tell me at all about this, than to hype it up and then take it away. Always glad to hear that I am getting less features on a DIGITAL PLATFORM because of the location I live in.

@@YNABofficial respectfully, Ben, not mentioning the geographic limitations or the minimum iOS version required is a pretty big miss. If not you, then your editor or fact checker should’ve picked this up.
I would absolutely make these additions and repost the video, even if it impacts the views and the likes, etc. because of the new URL. ;-)
You could have included “this only works in the US” somewhere in the video. Maybe you should discount prices for those of us in markets you only sort of support.
