- Join me for my top 5 predictions of what I expect to see in the newest 2024 Lionel catalog coming out very soon. I think we will see a mix of diesels and steam engines in various road names. What else do you think will be in it?

It'd be nice to see them do something more reasonably priced, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
The Hiawatha fantasy is one heck of a “prediction” i definitely love my seaboard

I know exactly what’s in the catalog. They are making the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha. E-6 Southern, Union Pacific, Aberdeen, Carolina, and Western. CSX/ Conrail Heritage ES44ac. A bunch of GP 9 also. One colorful GP 9 Bangor & Aroostock. Also the Pennsylvania ES44ac heritage. This is just some of the items
Sounds like some interesting “predictions” lol! I’m really hoping to see a rerun of Legacy N&W Y6b’s, it’s been around a decade since they were last done! Although, I might try to get someone to do a custom run with the H7 as a “What If…” N&W Y7, that’d be sweet!!! Hoping to see a Virginian Railway Berkshire though!

Haha for sure it will be this year. I think the spring date Lionel gave is going to pretty accurate. Since they have been releasing videos on some programming of it, they must be pretty confident it’s either on the water or close to it
Any predictions on the flyer portion or did Lionel omit that in this catalog
Sorry can’t predict too much on the flyer side as I don’t follow that market much, just standard 3-rail for me at the moment
The Hiawatha that they would produce ( wink wink Atlantic ) would need the beaver tail observation car, not the skytop car pictured in the video. The Skytop would go with the F7 Baltic and later the EMD F7's.

@davenichols8489 The ones you see are Lionel “Ski Train” 21” passenger cars. They made them a couple years ago. Jeff’s custom run cars have not been delivered yet, but likely will be in the next few months.
I hope they offer stuff that has better quality control!

N&W is pretty popular. I’m sure Lionel will have some in the catalog like they typically do.

I say no Hiawatha this year. This is going to be a polar express year. I would save an iconic train like that for Lionel’s 125th anniversary.

If its a Hiawatha set Lionel has has an amazing opportunity to foul up the colors once again--I hope they hear from everyone not to screw this up as they did with the 1938 20 Century
