It's Snake Men, my all-time favorite villain faction. Of course! 😅 Loved them ever since that Christmas morning I got the original King Hiss and Rattlor, and saw that magazine cover with the Earl Norem Snake Men. I'm a sucker for every new release. Also, I've been waiting for a snake builder pack like this of relatively "normal" looking snake warriors to use for a while now. Fun side note, I loved the idea of the snake men joining the heroes in the DC comic run, especially Rattlor being so devoted to He-man, that I created a bulky heroic snake guy fighter in my D&D campaign. Humanoid, cobra hooded and shades of dark and almost neon blues. No kidding. So I think Rattlehood is going to be paired up with my hero characters, because the resemblance is uncanny. 😁
These are currently sitting in my BBTS POL with the Skeleton set and Spikor. I decided not to open my single carded He-man in favor of this one, but I'm really annoyed to see he comes with a normal sword instead of the vac metalized one shown in the stock photos. I think I like Naga's darker stock photo colors, too. Still happy to have this, though.
For a lot of people this is an easy pass... but for me this is a great surprise and a must have !!! this box is amazing, is a four pack from MOTU !!! A FOUR PACK !!! how many times did you see this ? There are new characters with a lot of the escence or feeling from motu bootlegs toys. In a few years I believe this is gonna be a grial.
I actually love repaint packs like this. I know they're not for everyone... But I would gladly buy almost all the main cast over again in Anti-Eternia colors, or translucent slime pit green.
I'm not typically much of an army builder, but this 4-pack is way better than I expected. The artwork is gorgeous and looks so vintage-style that it's amazing. SA He-Man's armour repaint looks better than the flat-silver details of the previous release, but I'd have much preferred seen a fourth "snake soldier" in his place. Rattle-Hood looks great; for some reason I'll want to call him "Fake Snake" due to his Faker-esque colour. For simple repaints I agree that Gorgon and Naga should've been packed with weapons, even if just simple Grayskull spear repaints or something. Id've far rather seen weapons for them in place of the neck extension/venom spit recycles for Rattle-Hood (character features which I feel should've have remained unique to Rattlor and Kobra Khan anyway). Although Gorgon & Naga are army builders, their identical use of parts makes them look a little TOO alike, they coulda maybe used hood-less Khan's head on one for some variety, at least.
Totally Agree if they left he-man out of this pack I would have bought 4-5 packs and did some of my own customs but I don’t need a battalion of He-man’s missed Opportunity 😮 Mattel
I would guess Mattel saved some money, with these repainted and existing parts. The lack of accessories makes Mattel look cheap, and I think shows a bit of disrespect to the fans.
Did you know that Rattle Hood is the only Snakeman to be based off one the customs from the Eternia Playset Convention of 2022. The other two are simular to the customs in the case, but original for the most part. Maybe a Deadly 4 Snakemen Pack 2 for 2024? lol
I wish they’d changed the feet or hands for the two Rattlor-headed ones. I understand a repaint pack, but two of the figures within the same pack just seems lazy to me. Their colors also don’t match each other for army building imo. I like Rattle Hood though. I’m always a fan of 200X stuff so I love the idea of a Snake Armor He-man repaint but this one just doesn’t speak to me. I might’ve gone for a two pack with a more interesting repaint of Snake Armor and Rattle Hood, but for a 4-pack where I only really like one figure the price is just too steep. Great video as always though
Yes! The answer is 100% yes! Absolutely love these figures!! I did a bunch of parts swapping with the red and green guys to make some different and very fun snake warriors. The blue guy is of course the star of the set. But for me, even the He-Man worked out great because I never got the first released version and I like this version better anyway. A total win for what I like and I had soooo much fun kitbashing new figures together
None of these figures were in that show. There were 5 different types of generic coloured Snake Men in the cartoon (dark green, tan, red, olive, and yellow), and they haven't been made in Origins yet.
Awesome review! It’s funny because as I came across this video, I’ve found “SNAKE FACE” at Target this morning! These days it’s rear to find new Masters stuff in the wild. And today is my Birthday! So what an awesome present!
I think the two Snake-goons would look better if the limbs were the same color. Changing color at the joints is kind of jarring, almost like an unfinished custom.
I think it’s an interesting set, the artwork is amazing as always. However, my main issue with it is that it really overdoes it with the reuse/repaints. It just doesn’t stand out to me quite as much as I would have liked. The Rattlor head doesn’t work very well with the Kobra Khan body at all because it can’t really move downward and is stuck looking up. And half of the figures in this set have that problem. I agree that Rattle-Hood is the strongest figure in the set, but again, it’s a very weird kitbash of parts that look very awkward when they’re all combined. Mattel took what were once unique concepts and combined them into new characters: Kobra/Camo Khan’s non-existent spray feature combined with Rattlor’s non-existent striking neck…personally, it just feels like this was an afterthought that Mattel decided to quickly put together after displaying all of the custom Snake Men at SDCC back in 2022. That’s exactly what all three Snake Men look like: fan-made customs. I’ll still try to get it at some point, just kind of disappointing… 🫤
Amazing review as always... I'm looking forward to getting this set! Interestingly, The Snake Armor He-Man Wave 10 release had an early variant with the same more orangey-yellow hair as the one that comes in this set!
Mattel Origins Collector said they should've included 200X Zodak instead of He-Man and I totally agree! That would've made the perfect set, along with more weapons and a comic!
They should have made it a 3 pack. I don't need duplicate He-Man/Zodak, or any other unique characters in a set like this. I would have bought multiples of it was just a Snake Men army builder pack. Giving each of these figures individual names was a mistake too, in my opinion. They should have been treated like Horde Troopers for King Hiss.

Seeing this He-Man side by side with the single card actually has me digging the new deco. Love the brighter blonde to match the other Origins He-Mans.
Rattle Hood is awesome! And I agree a 4th snake would have been better. Although if I could take the loin cloth belt thing from the original version and put it on this one I think he would look best.(I prefer this ones colored details) Now give us Lord Gr’asp!

Wow I’m still waiting for my Pre-Order of Rattlor from entreatment earth. I get why it’s taking a long time but I haven’t been able to find him anywhere else for a good price. Now then again I have checked in awhile but still.
I like the set, but it's really expensive, especially with overseas shipping. Right now, the cheapest price I can get this for is approx. 120 Euros which is a lot of money for a He-Man I already have and can get in the store for 14.99 and three pretty cool Snake Men.
I got two sets coming. One for my self and the other fir my son as one of his Xmas gifts(Snake mountain is the other). I like the repaints. But I think they should’ve came with Tung lasher head instead. Besides already having the snake trooper and Rattlor, these are the worst heads. It looks like they’re patrolling the skies lol.
I bought this set and love it. I couldn’t help but wonder if the guys at Mattel were like “He has a hood and a rattle, let’s name him Hood Rat-tle “ (Quickly checks Urban dictionary) “Umm…let’s reverse that to Rattle Hood”. Disaster averted.
I paid about $70 with tax for four new Origins figures that I don't have already, heck yes it's worth it. I will be sculpting two unique weapons for Fangor's little brothers and giving them all subtle paint applications. They're gonna look so great when I display them.
He-Man was a bit of a misstep, but I am 100% getting this pack! I realize they gotta throw the main character in there, but I do wish some more work was put into his deco. They sort of went garish, but not quite? Like, make it WAY different from the normal figure!! More neon! Make that sword a DIFFERENT COLOR for pete's sake! Or, better yet, sculpt the sword in the open postion from when it opens up and fires a beam! Or make it translucent green! Something! Anything!
Wow... would have loved to have had these snakes in Classics... Wish that the neck extension had had the light blue on it as well. Hoping to see the yellow and orange soldiers that were in Classics in with the Origins crew (with individual names) someday.
This is piece of information that I'm about to share is trivial at best but I'm just putting it out there for those who are interested to know. The word ' Naga' is actually a Malay or Indonesian word ( the language Malaysians and Indonesians exclusively use, that is), which directly means 'dragon'. I don't know if Mattel picked this word up randomly or they must have done their research about the origin of the word. Of course I believe it's the latter cos I'm positive thinking guy 😅😂
I’m a fan of repaints, and the package art is beautiful, so I bought one. I love it so much, I don’t want to take the figures out! I do agree with you that it should have been a 4th Snake Man, instead of He-Man. That or they should have just made it a 3-pack, so it would have been slightly cheaper.

The first promo shots had He-Man holding a vac metal sword. Kind of a let down it didn't turn out to be true. Could've at least given these guys matching colored snake staffs.

@@Pixel-dan My collection these days is mostly Classics. The Origins figures don't really aesthetically match that level of detail. Whereas the Masterverse/New Eternia designs are close enough.
The goofy characters are one of the things i love about MOTU, but these colourways are just dumb. This pack couldve been so good, but instead, it just stinks of "fans will buy any crap we put out so just do whatever". It's like smash blade heman all over again
I don't know, they kinda look like customs. I wish they could focus more on making more of the 80s figures and less on variants and other brands like Sun-Man.

I just wrote Naga and Gorgon's names on the soles of their feet. I would never remember which is which otherwise 😅
