I’m glad to see this overall is just seen as solid. There was a worry that I thought this was going to just be a big bomb, but this is my kind of thing nowadays. I get less and less time for gaming so something quick and simple, I’m in.
As a galsgow man myself I have too say the accuracy to the chat between them and the flag used is on point!. U can clearly see they consulted and listened to the Scottish cast when writing this.
I haven’t heard anyone mention “A Color Out of Space” yet. Could be coincidental, but the entity here is crazy similar to the one from the film adaptation of that book, right down to the color scheme. If you like this game, definitely check that movie out
I'm loving this game, one of the scariest I've played. The atmosphere especially in the first 3rd is amazing and the sound design is genuinely horrifying.
I felt the complete opposite. It's linear, not at all scary & the environment is littered with hidden walls, obvious traversal clues & artificial barriers. The 'hide in locker' schtick is also very tired & overused now. Let me grab a pipe or something to fight these monsters off. I mean there's zero interactivity going on. Meanwhile the script is simply Gerard Butler shouting F*CK every five seconds. Modern 'games' suck.
Just finished this and gotta say I love the short length. Made it feel more like I was playing a horror movie like alien or the thing. Absolutely loved it!
just finished this and personally i think it was a 10/10 experience but it is a Walking sim which means its never as good after your first playthrough. Plan on getting my dad to play this though as he enjoys his horror.
@@insertnamehere4419 Just because a game's short doesn't mean it isn’t good. The only thing this game left me wanting was more, and that's what I'd say is that means it's *good*
for me, theradbrad who got his success from playing games like amnesia and stuff said he liked it. 🤔 and him being a horror fan, makes me look at this positive. only negative i see is i hear the game is only like 6 hours long
Favorite horror game of 2024 so far, bar none. The setting, feeling of hopelessness, and the creature all gave me The Thing, The Abyss, and Aliens vibes - all three in my top ten favorite films. This was fantastic!
This game is if “The Thing” meets “Alien isolation” I just completed it and other than the controls getting in my way twice, it was a superb game, my favorite of the year by far
I really enjoyed the game, characters and the story. I want more horror games more scary than this. The atmosphere is fantastic. The ideanof beingnon a oil rig with monsters was a great idea
Before it was released this game was described as an "upcoming survival horror" but now that I have watched your video I can clearly see it's more of a walking simulator. I don't think it is the fault of the developer it's just bad journalism.
Way too many games on the backburner to pick this up at the moment. Would be nice to evolve the walking sim genre a bit at this point. A neat mechanic, light gunplay, or making choices that matter would all go a long way to engage the player. Walking from point A to point C then to B for a scripted moment to occur and have this repeat for 10 hours just doesn't cut it anymore for me.
This reviewer doesn't seem to get what this game is about... Not every game needs a bunch of combos or weapons to fulfill it's premise as a game. I wouldn't even call this a walking sim as it does need a lot of agency from the player to see it thru. Besides that, it's a very well realized experience that stays with the player.
Just another reason Xbox is superior imo the great day one releases gamepass usually has. Even if it isn't day 1 they have a great library of gamesnof all genres. Even Mlb the show is a day kne game and it's made by sony. I wasn't a fan of ps plus when I tried it but gamepass is great
If you enjoy this kind of story you should watch the russian horror movie "The Superdeep". It´s the same thing. Of course, both are a rip off from The Thing.
Today i tried it for 3 hours .. maaaaaan what a game and atmosphere i loved it

Accepting mediocrity is tight!
silent hill 2 got good story wait for remake you're gonna love it
@@dvdbox360 doesn't look great though but let's see if it's as good as the OG back on the PS2 ..
The voice acting and creature design is top notch

Play it with headphones. It is really good if you like the horror genre.
I'm always up for a good horror story! Thanks for the review.

It’s on day one game pass. I’ll play it tonight. It’s free.
The voice acting is on another level in this game. superb.
I think I'll play it on game pass but I can easily say I would buy the game out right. It looks of a high quality.
If I could combine Still wakes the deep with The Bunker... well, I'd be a very happy gamer.
mix of Lovecraft and John Carpenter's The Thing, game also has great audio
It looks like Alien Isolation at sea.. Which is a win for me
Well it kinda is and I think it is currently the best horror of 2024
Yay, it’s on GamePass! Downloading now…

phenomenal game. best the chinese room have put out.
I'm playing now and it's dope af

Idk why but i thought this was a Alan Wake spinoff until recently 😂
The subtitles that won't leave are ruining the immersion for me, a real shame

Never heard the Lord‘s name taken in vain so much in the game smh
It's only 8.63GB a small game.
Is this game kinda like Soma?

Condemned sh*ts all over crap like this.
I recommend Xbox players grab a copy of that title if they want something truly unsettling & immersive.
