You two are my new favorite thru hikers. Don’t be a stranger.
Brrrrrave. Cool long exposure of stars.
Those desert snow views.
Wow.
Beautiful...watching from couch. Heh
This isn't really desert they're in here. That's quite a few miles to the east. This is all typical California chaparral that makes up one of the largest habitats in the state, especially in southern California. It's very similar to the habitats in Portugal, southern Spain, Italy, Greece, south coastal Australia, central Chile, and Cape Province South Africa.
This video is useful for preparing equipment and clothes.
The next section is long.
I wish you good luck.
Find video again. Q? How did you do that Stars shot at minute 11:18 😮 very nice. Safe travels.
Just a feature on my phone. S24 Plus. Amazing how much you can do with phones now.

You guys got to meet the mayor max
Did you eat a burger at PVC?
Hope all goes well up and over San Jacinto.
Be safe; keep at it!
Молодці! Я пишаюся вами!!! Я вже дома в Україні.
This is one of the hotter and more waterless sections of the PCT in San Diego County. So, hiking it in rain or snow with overcast skies is probably great timing.
Great time but it was freezing 🥶. We were both soaked and we're dealing with below zero temps.
09:30 Is that the way to the former trail angel Mary's place? I thought a quicker way to little bear hostel was created.
Yes there is a new way. There are markers on the trail to help hikers find the right path.
How did you do that video of the stars moving across the sky? I love to learn new photography skills.
I used my phones hyperlaps mode with a high exposure setting to get the streaks. I'm not sure about settings for a DSLR camera but I would assume a high exposure with a high ISO.
🎉
My wife and I are really enjoying watching your adventure. You're doing a great job of videoing, editing, and adding a musical score (ask me how I know!). Sorry, but not a fan of the PIP though. Everything else is great! Keep it up!
(BTW, we picked up horned toads too. No harm/no foul if you're gentle).
I agree! And we have plans for more hiking adventures in the near future and maybe...just maybe...another thru-hike in 2025!
i clicked and tried to watch cause of the dog in the thumbnail..where is the dog???
The dog is just a picture from Idyllwild! The mayor. We didn't get any videos of Mayor Max. Just the one picture!
Just your typical PCT desert section
you guys are killing it, keep going! were you guys able to get a permit for the same day through the lottery? my partner and I are planning on hiking the pct next year and it's a concern.
Please don't touch any type of wildlife. Just remember look but please don't touch. I know the horned toads are cute but. Just remember about the rattlesnakes for the nest 600 miles once it warms up they will be out and about. Enjoying your videos keep them coming and will enjoy following you two.
The little guy was fully submerged in a stream! I think he was cold and got caught in the wrong spot at the wrong time. We picked him up and put him on a warm dry rock near the water and away from the footpath.

Love following your journey. Good luck with the next part of your journey.
Enjoying your videos! Fyi- the desert (I10) is supposed to hit mid 90’s this Wednesday thru Friday.
This comment should be downvoted into oblivion. There's no harm in touching especially when helping, and people know plenty well about rattlesnakes. They can also be occasionally encountered in the upper elevations so it's not just the "next 600".
It's going to be bad up there. But you know it by now. Good luck.
