+Antaqua R It probably just warps space-time around itself, it's massive enough to do that, generates enough power, and it's much easier manipulate space-time around a spherical object; I mean planets, moons, and stars already warp space-time around itself; we call it gravity. The death Star probably just rides gravity waves and manipulates gravity itself; a calculated course around stars and planets would permit it to sling shot and maneuver through space once it gets moving and could even be used to speed up and slow down the station; of course that beam weapon could probably also double as a deflector shield that could theoretically work like the deflector shield you see on the battle haul of the Enterprise from Star Trek below the saucer section, which is also used to help warp space-time around the vessel and can be used like a beam weapon by readjusting the power from the warp core from other weapons, shields, and non essential systems in a similar manner to how ships in Star Wars adjust power between engines, shields, and weapons. If I'm correct though that means the Death Star could also create worm holes and literally tear the space-time continuum (as well as seal up tears in the space-time continuum) creating temporal rifts in the same way the Enterprise can which means the Death Star could not only go into hyper space but could also go into sub space and even different dimensions as well as travel through time itself if the primary weapon and propulsion system (which is probably the entirety of the exterior haul of the Death Star).
