She is a great host for this exhibition. Her knowledge is incredible, a few hosts have glazed over these gems and what they mean. She tied all of the cars and culture together seamlessly. Great stuff, thank you.
Having grown up in Ventura through the 60's and 70's I was always impressed with the amount of detail and love that was put into low riders. Very impressive display.
Low riders go to 11 when it comes to over the top craftsmanship. That last car at the end, all metal and engraved. I've never seen anything like that. I hope that car gets featured in the next episode.
Low riders are the absolute pinnacle of car customisation Especially the paint and engraving Being interested in paint this bit especially blows my mind on how they do what they do I was supposed to come to LA earlier this year but we canceled because of all the problems you have n LA right now I had even planned to come there as it really was the only thing I wanted to see while there Unfortunately now that won’t happen But I still dream 👍👍🇦🇺
Beautiful lowriders & very creative! Just the amount of detail is mind blowing! Only thing is, you can't drive them & they are just beautiful trailer queens.I gotta go to this exhibit to see these cars in person!
You forgot to mention it was Perfect Score before a trailer crash where the car was damaged. The owner went even more hard on the rebuild n makeover and Final Score came out
Nooooo pinches mamessss doctora la neta que buen documental. La ciudad de Los Angeles no es ciudad son los Chicanos, yo lo sé, todo el mundo lo sabe. Saludos desde España
They say the lowrider name came from people sitting really low in their seats with the only thing you see is their heads because supposedly it was used for drive-bys and then adopted for Lowrider cars is how I heard it
She explains this in a way that describes a closed club that you can’t join unless you have certain skin. The truth is that low rider culture is uniquely American, Southern California culture that anyone should be able to adopt and enjoy. This divisive language is pernicious and corrosive. Do better Peterson.
Lowriders are just silly, why take a classic car and make it look and drive worse? These cars definitely took a lot of time and effort but that time and effort could've been spent on something more important.
"More important" is 100% subjective. I can guarantee that you spend some of your time on hobbies or activities that I would personally find silly. Does that mean you shouldn't do them though? No. ..because who cares what I think? What matters is that YOU are happy. Lowrider fans can have their fun doing silly paint jobs and dipping everything in chrome - and you can spend your time on "important" things like whining about lowriders in the comment section. Everyone wins.. :)
Is art, music or any hobby or fun activity that doesn´t contribute to what is ´important´(whatever that means per individual) not worth spending money on if it gives you fullfilment? Not understanding another culture, doesnt mean its not meaningfull and important to them. Please keep in mind that a lot of lowriders reguraly go out for cruising and meeting friends, that is important to them. What is ´drive worse´ if they want to drive it like a lowrider? Most other cars in the museum are expensive and likely not driving, so how is that different to the lowriders specifically built for shows? Does it matter if a le-mans winning ferrari, or something like that, drives well if its just sitting stationary for years on end for others to stare at? It´s all storytelling on wheels and a matter of history, perspective and taste.
Your time and effort could have been spent not showing how ignorant you are, yet here you are. Typical broke hater, mad that people have more money than he ever will.
Good watch. Protect Gypsy Rose at all costs

done by Izawa Art Design, an amazing Japanese engraver and painter
The Ruelas family had an "uncle TInker". Lol My great grandfather was called "Papa Tink" or "Tinker" because he was always tinkering with things.
Ever since I saw American Graffiti as a kid, I knew the 58 was a special car.

Arghhhh
Why add this comment, KAREN? Poorly expressed latent racism. Might want to do a little research and listen to what the Dr. is sharing before typing.

"silly" you sir are a fool and should just keep your KAREN comments to yourself.

She had to get a PhD to talk about Low Rider cars🤡🤡🤡
Save your clown BS...she got a PHD in history and culture! And you? If you have nothing positive to add, keep it to yourself.
