Well thank-you for watching the videos, much appreciated and for taking the time to leave a comment. Many more videos coming soon. I have a list of videos to do in the very near future.
Well done friend. Ex Pat Newf here living in BC. I have such fond memories of snaring hare with my dad in and around Green Bay area. I appreciated your comments on your Dad's passing. My Father died April, 2015. He taught me how to live off the land and sea. He is and will always be a legend in my mind. So I know how you feel. Excellent pens too. My Father's favourite method! Now I am longing to get home and do some fishing and snaring. Have subscribed.
Takes for the sub and sorry to hear about your dad, sure is hard not having them around. My mom passed less than two years later. Yes I love getting out in the great outdoors and enjoying all the adventures it has to offer. Hunting, fishing and gathering food for the family is such a blessing. I hope you get home as soon as it is safe to do so and get in some fishing and snaring.
Loved the tribute at the end. I’ve snared many rabbits over the last nine years but never have I ever tried a pen. I’ll give it a try next time I’m out.
thanks Steve, I did a shout out to her last winter in one of my ski-dooing videos. If you are talking to her, tell her thanks for watching, it's much appreciated.
Woo Hoo, Gene Sure Is Gonna Be Happy ! Great Catches, Charlie ! Ordered a CD from Dougie, Can't Wait For It To Arrive. Have A Swell Evening, Friend ! Rest Peacefully Dad ! ATB T God Bless
That's great Terry I'm sure Doug is going to be very happy. Gene was very happy as he hasn't been able to get out snaring this year due to some health issues.
Another excellent and informative video. Thats on my bucket list, to trap rabbits, Sorry to hear about your Dad. Hard to believe he's been gone 3 yrs eh, Thanks for your service buds. I like your graduation picture. You were in the Air force, I have a picture just like it taken back in 1991 Cornwallis. lol, I'm also retired from the CF. The EME branch. Retired in Petawawa and stayed in the area. Love the fishing and outdoors to buds. cheers,
I was in Cornwallis in 1989. I glad you enjoy the videos, yes Air Force... I'll be visiting Petawawa in the near future. My daughter is posted there. Once we get past this Covid pandemic... My wife and I have to go up and meet our latest Grandchild. He makes 6 Grandchildren for us
@@NLGhostWolf Holy geez , congrats on the grandfather again. I just became a Grandpa on the 30 Oct this year. Times going to fast buds. Its like a toilet paper roll the closer you get to the end the faster it goes. haha. Yes Covid sucks, thank god the Vaccines are coming.
well you had a great average that day. its nice you supply your family and friends with rabbits , I bet they really enjoy them even more so if they cannot get out to get their own. enjoy your adventures. bill
Great Video Charlie, nice looking bunnies, good to see some caribou still surviving the coyotes, bottled rabbits is really good too, when i was a young guy i would catch a lot of rabbits and my mother would bottle lots for the summer months, made some great meals lol. thanks for the video Charlie and all the best,
hard to beat the bottled rabbit, however the fresh rabbit stew I had two days ago was very tasty. Thanks for watching my friend. All the best to you as well
Glad you enjoyed it! I'd bet you'd love my other video titled "4 Best Types of Rabbit Snare Pens". thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment
22 gauge brass wire. Bottom of snare is about 4" off the ground. It should work on cottontails but they are a little smaller so you might have to adjust accordingly.
@@NLGhostWolf oh ya , I was going to ask you if you could do a cleaning of a rabbit vid. but I guess that would be a little graphic for some. lol. I'll have to buy one from a local farmer and taste it. cant wait. haha
Ya I'm staring to binge watch to.. these videos rock. What a country we live in eh. I thought northern Ontario was gods country, lol Enjoy your retirement buddy.
is there anywhere in particular that you place your pens? found a area with lots of fresh tracks and have had 6 snares out for 2 nights with no luck, just one snare pushed out of the way. do you think a pen would help?
I will address your question in tomorrows video I record. But in short, 100% pens is the way to catch rabbits this time of the year when they get smart.
That is how she is done bye. Good tips there. Only one problem, moose can smell those cut young juicy birch tops and have a good munch. Seriously though, this works great.
oh funny you should say that. I was expecting to have at least one of my pens hit by the moose. There's a few on the go in there. I will try keeping an eye on those pens and be sure to video the moose damage when they find it. One always does... Thanks for watching
I'm currently binge watching about 2 dozen of your videos. Thank you for what you do. I'm quite envious.

Another great video. Nice to see some caribou as for some time the word was that the coyotes all but wiped out the caribou in your area Charlie.
They are managing to hang in there. Love seeing the caribou. Proud looking animals.
Awesome video, very informative. What size of wire are you using and how far off the ground should it be. Would this work on cottontails.

Thanks, Just set one with no snares this morning and going back tomorrow to put snares on to it
Good stuff Charlie. Lots of bunnies on the go eh? Enough snow 4 ya yet?
There are a few pockets of them around. Going to be working with the marten hair snag program shortly. Looking forward to that.
@@NLGhostWolf I did that few years ago all one season on this side of the island. Great bit of fun....... on my channel too.
I'm going to go look for those videos right now.
haha that was funny. I have flip down wheels put on my ski's, they work great.
Wayne has them too and he loves them, uses them for road crossings and when putting his sled in the garage
how can i know if theres some of these in my woods
research to see if they are there. Type in snowshoe hares in your state or province and see what you find. Then look for tracks if they are.
I smell stew... Nice video
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video
Works great have an area that’s peppered with rabbit sign but was too open for leads and set one of these got 2 first night !
Yes my buddy, snare pens work great especially in that type of area where the rabbits could be running anywhere.
