  • With all the newcomers getting into Slingshots, I wanted to get to the basics and show some of the more popular styles and their respective names or nicknames. This video covers a few of the different style slingshots being used today. Flatband

I'm glad I ran acrosss this video, even though it a couple of years after the fact. Very informative and answered a question or two percolating in the back of my mind. Thank you, Flatband for posting this and I will continue to view your videos along with some of the other leaders in the sling-shot world. I've been the only one I've known for decades shooting them and experimenting with them, so I'm glad to see the re-kindled interest by the world.

Awesome presentation, I've always wanted to see the classic styles made in the USA.
Although I am was born in Los Angeles the styles I was raised knowing are Mexican slingshot styles which some are similar.
Obviously some differences which is a treat to me to have seen these classic American slingshot styles.
    Thank you for this..
    Nick

    you are awesome, flatband.
you remind me of walter white from breaking bad in this video.
you are very informative for a novice.
im bj000 on slingshot forum.. you older guys (no offence) are my inspiration. i am still very new to slingshots but i am an adult and i can do whatever i want with my free time lol and i have decided to make slingshots instead of make digital graphic art pieces that will not exist without electricity...
    slingshots are cool. obviously
    thanks again.

Thanks for the comment guys! Ashab, as far as loading the Widow with flats, great move. It will increase your accuracy. The powere depends on the cut of rubber and what ammo your using. Marbles are good for short range plinking, steel good for targets. lead best for hunting. Hope it helps!

Hi Jorge, your best bet is to build one for yourself. Not too many guys make them and hardly anyone sells them, Good luck!

Hi Bud, the way I do it ( and I love putting flats on rod frames)is place the flat rubber against the outside of the prong rod, and start wrapping and stretching thin pieces of rubber around the rubber and the prong real tight. Put the band on about an inch or so, wrap and then tie it off with a square knot. Works great!

@sohy3010 You can't buy that one Bud. That was made by a great shooter named "Blue Skeen". He gave me that one. Pretty cool huh?
