    Dear Boomer, such an intricate build and paint job. Beautiful.
    Also, a very great informative and educational narration.
    Absolute joy to watch!
    On the pin washes, thinking back to the method you’ve shown and explained, for example, on the concrete surfaces, the explanation of pin washing the break lights on the wrecker is a nice angle for further understanding what the process of a pin wash can achieve. Like the combination of the Vallejo and Tamiya colors very much.
    Glueing the metal parts on painted surfaces with full strength matte medium and the GAC 500 for attaching the glass, absolutely goes on the ‘hard drive.’

    • @boomerdiorama
      @boomerdiorama  2 роки тому +1

      Matte Medium is awesome for gluing photo-etch to painted parts because it stays flexible and does not dry to a hard rigid state.

    This thing is a little jewel, Boomer. It is absolutely stunning -- you've done a brilliant job. Tons of information and tips on muli-media kits
    I loved the finishing tips on the backhoe and the Caterpillar but this wrecker is on an entirely different level. I can't emphasize this enough: Thanks for taking the time to share with us. You just keep rasing the bar.
    Cheers!

      Matte medium is the model railroaders best friend. If you ever leave a brush out overnight to find it hard in the morning, just soak it in Isopropyl Alcohol to restore it back. ;-)

    Inspiring! You are a master modeler. The photos on the Community tab are even more impressive. Please do more of these mixed media superdetailing videos. Would like to see similar for superdetailing locomotives. While a layout may never be finished, at some point you will get close. Perhaps these types of videos will be a means to continue the channel once the layout is "finished", if you still enjoy making them. Cheers!

      That sounds like a great Idea! I do have locomotives in the que if I can find time to squeeze them in. The detailed builds take up loads of time I have to spread out over a longer period . . . but the loco/rolling stock builds are in the plan for sure. Thanks for sharing.😁

    Howdy Boomer! A truly master class on modeling. Really something! Steady hands and patience lol. I didn't read through all the comments to see if anyone else thought this, but what you called antennae at 18:28 kinda look like those front bumper pole marker lights that you see on some trucks. Just a thought. Really really well done and thanks for sharing 🤠

    Awesome job! I dig all the extra mods and the overall outcome. My only critique would be because of my OCD. It is screaming, "The GMC should be painted clear red and the chevrons on the mirror should be painted clear orange!" 😆 However, it's not mine... so it's all good.

  • @truckerray7533
    @truckerray7533 2 роки тому +1

    Nice Kit. At "18:28" where you were talking about the 2 extra antennas??? They are not antennas. They are front bumper corner guides. You put them on the front corners of your bumper so that you as the driver know we're your corners are at all times, especially when maneuvering in tight quarters. The tips of them light up at night in amber color like the cab's clearance lights do!

    Great added fine details, makes the truck pop… also makes the model more original. Thanks for the hints on painting the rims and lights. When touching up the bed, do you have to thin the paint to make a “wash”? Do you use a paint booth when air brushing?

    • @boomerdiorama
      @boomerdiorama  2 роки тому +2

      Paint plus excess water makes a wash - yes. No need for a paint booth on such a small scale coupled to IPA which is non-toxic and evaporates rapidly. Cheers. ;-)

    When my airbrush starts spattering, I take a cotton bud dipped in alcohol and spin it gently in the end of the brush to clean the tip of the needle. It stops the spattering.

    I’ve noticed with the canopy glue that, although it dries clear, I can see it’s presence at certain light and angles when excess leaks onto the pane. Does the Golden GAC 500 do the same?

    • @boomerdiorama

    Hey Boomer. Wanted to share this with you because I know you like GP9s and I used your spray technique(the pressure wash method is brilliant btw). I found and fell in love with an old pic of 669 and it’s pretty damn close and I don’t think traditional paint and weathering would have gotten anywhere near these results.. Still in the later stages of re-assembly, but here’s a sneak peek. ua-cam.com/video/VZY4ZwZLAEk/v-deo.html
