Great coverage on this very tight course. Always love the commentary. The camera crew, the video editors, but people who make these videos possible, you are the real MVP. Thank you for all the work you put into this.
Whenever I stop getting JoMez coverage for free from the UA-cam feed, I would pay Sunday ticket prices, to get full season coverage from Nate, Jerm, and Uli! Make this comment seen
@BHDIjiin Yea, I did that, but with all the nice scenery we see in disk golf, 1080p doesn't cut it for me. A good portion of their videos are drone footage, and 4k is pretty much par these days for drones. I'm just saying, there's a lot of details you don't realize you're missing out on. All because the cameras are in the wrong settings... If this footage was recorded in 2160p at 60 frames per second, which is standard these days, the difference would be exponential. Quality of quantity, in my opinion, but whatever floats your boat.
@@ForrestGumpWR don't get me wrong, i'd absolutely love to see 4k60. I watch these videos on a 85" inch tv so that would be amazing. But given that this is day after coverage the compute power to just edit all the raw footage and get it uploaded is probably a tall order to do in a mobile editing station like i imagine they use when on the road. My point was just that the lift from their current bitrate to double or triple would lift the quality significantly.
@BHDIjiin 85" Wow, that's nice. I agree with you because it's amazing they are able to edit and upload these videos so as fast for us. It's impressive and I commend them for that. I just wish they gave us at least 1440p like many UA-camrs do, especially because of the natural scenery. I hope one day you can watch JomezPro in 4k at 60 fps on your big tv 📺 That would look amazing!
This course is extremely challenging, I get it. Many other are a bit too scoreable. Somewhere in between would be nice. A 'Funny Finn', huh? Niklas: "What, I'm funny? Am I a clown to you? How am I funny? You said it..." [Niklas Pesci? who's down?]
I don't know if anybody feels the same but every year in the season when Northwood Black rolls around i can not help but feel that this course really is not fun to watch. I want to see the pros do their pro thing. But this... mostly looks like my sorry ass is playing there. hitting trees left and right, early and late releases, missing putts from 5 meters. Don't get me wrong, i know that i would not stand a chance on that course and probably shoot a +100 and even a score like Eagles in this round is a testament to his incredible skill. But if a course is so damn hard that it looks like the most skilled players in the sport play like bloody amateurs that just does not make for a fun watch in my opinion. And it feels like even the players are not enjoying themselves due to the unfair nature of the course and that translates through the screen. Big props to every player out there who commits themselves to this prolonged weekend of torture.
This course is a million billion times better than a golf course turned disc golf course that just showcases 600 foot bomber arms. This is real disc golf.
That was literally my first ever tournament 5 on the hole! If you haven't played the hole you just can't appreciate the difficulty of the hole... It's a true par 6 if you go by the traditional logic of number of throws it takes to get to the putting green + 2 putts and it takes 4 precise throws to get to the green. You do the math.
To add to that, I don't want the sport to a pitch and putt, never said that and I never would. I appreciate clever, challenging course design that rewards great shots and punishes poor ones. In golf, proper execution results in birdies, I didn't make that up. Disc golf should be no different.
At 41:05 if AB had actually been under the bridge, couldn't he throw from on top of the bridge based on rule 802.05 ("A playing surface may exist above or below another playing surface")? Or has that bridge been declared to not be a playing surface?
I would read that rule as being the bridge and ground beneath are both playing surfaces, but you play from the one your disc lands on. So if he can get under it, he plays from under it. But if he landed up top he’s on the top surface.
I love seeing the best players in the world be challenged by the course. It makes possible special shots like AB's second shot on 14 that just boggles the mind. Nobody wants to watch hyzer-fests at ball golf courses. This is probably my favorite course I've ever seen pros play on- challenging and skill based.
Can I provide some constructive feedback here without sounding offensive? Can the commentators please limit commenting on the flight of a disc within 2 seconds ("oh this needs to stable up", "this one is a bit too left", etc) and just wait 2 more seconds to analyze the throw? It's really annoying how often they're incorrect about the initial assessment of the throw and correct themselves a moment later. Just let the mic breath a little. Down time for us to watch the shot and then commentate when it's toward the end of it's flight path will sound much more mature and accurate. I enjoy the rest of the production but that little piece will go a long way. Thanks
Absolutely agree with this. I'm at the point i've started muting sections of the videos because of the commentary being so off the actual result of the shots the players make. And to further add to this i'm so tired of hearing about "this player has the most precise arm in the game" just to see whomever sending the disc right into a tree and going OB. It's a post production, how hard can it be to also do post commentary and not pretending it's live. Players and players alone have no reason to be in a commentary booth after been out in the field for 7 hours. Hire some proper commentators already.
Another production company did that a couple of years ago. Actually hired a professional sports commentator. And everyone talked trash in the comments. How about be thankful for the FREE coverage and let these people(who know this sport better than anyone in this comment section, btw) do the job they love doing.

@@ryyanmmerida8283 That is a very valid point. But in the main event I'd like to see the jokes and giggling turned down a notch and do actual post commentary after the fact and not before or mid flight. I fell in love with the sport and I'd like to see it become even better. Each to their own in the end.
I haven't played hole 12, I've never seen it in person, but to me it seems like it would be the percet par 5 on a pro tour course if the first shot wouldn't have to contend with so many trees. If that shot was slightly easier or less luck reliant the rest of the hole seems somewhat fair for pro players. From the perfectly placed first shot it definately looks like a really hard par 4 and it's fine for me.
This is a proper major course, incredibly difficult, shows its teeth and who's really the top player currently. 2 lucky/wonder rounds does not cut it at this event i do not think. Gotta stay on top form all 4 rounds to be eligeble to win.
