The church is out of control, period. We have too many people who want to be pastors not because of a calling but to be popular. because you are a gospel sanger or a pk, doesn't mean you are called. Many young pastors dont have training, no schooling, hasnt set under a true pastor, or teacher, leaning to their own understanding, teaching false doctrine, and just wrong. Just because a pastor's church is growing doesn't mean it's God sanctioned or blessed. A lot of people come out because the leader is well known, preaching what they want to hear, no comdemnation or repentance. We have to do better.

Going to seminary or Bible school is not bad but it's not a Scriptural requirement for pastoral leadership either. I have always felt the same way and had my thoughts about why the gospel artists appeared to have a calling. My thoughts are if you do not have an income in one way, it has to be come another way. And yes they need formal Biblical training to shepherd and teach.
People think just because they sing, they can be a Pastor. Nothing could be further from the truth. I listened to Marvin Winans preach. The man has No gift for preaching. He was given the opportunity to tell the world about Jesus, at the Whitney Houston funeral, but instead he decided to show off his talent and created a show and hoop. No clear explanation of the gospel, no call to repent. Just a show. These people are not of God. Yes, God is more harsh than people think on the dreadful day of judgement. If we who are scarcely saved are barely in, how much harder is it for an unrepented sinner to enter heaven? Most people ever created will perish. Because people refuse to repent. Going to church is not a ticket to heaven, You must be born again. God living inside of you, causing us to walk in His ways. Human efforts to righteousness fall short every time. Only being born again will get you into heaven.
I think that its so easy for them to operate in error or teach false doctrines because they are only following what they have been exposed to. If their shepherds normally practice eisegesis, then the flock will follow. Proper hermeneutics is not a common practice in the "black" church.

The first time I came across his music I was soooo confused as to whether he was gospel or secular. The lyrics didn’t sound like gospel at all to me. Yet he was being played on Christian music networks. I even watched an interview he did talking about his career and it took him over an hour to mention Jesus. Imagine my shock when he announces that he’s launching a church 😮
He was performing a concert and likes to dance while doing so. There's no sin there. He also gives the Gospel message and ministers throughout his concert. I don't agree with aspects of his doctrine and questionable associations though.
It's difficult to even call them Gospel artists because they are already rooted in bad theology and unsound doctrine. So everything they produce is already as far away from the Gospel as one can get. But Gods mercy and patience is enduring. His steadfast love wills that they would come to Him in faith and repentance. It's sad that their influence is so pervasive.
Some of them didn’t want to be pastors. They took it on to ad legitimacy to their careers. Most were already descendants of ministers. Some of this is just pressure. I’ve never stepped into ministry in that fashion. I’ve stayed in my lane. You can’t do gods will while trying to do your own?

Finally perhaps you should look more into where and who bishop winans was mentored by rather than be critical of him. What was that I just saw?! Was that about the Gospel of Jesus Christ?! It looked more like a New Edition concert! All these current so - called Gospel artists are not anything I would ever support, much less, buy any of their music.
A few things I'd like to address: 1) Folks with channels like this, can rarely do the job better than the ones theyre criticizing. Otherwise, where is the fruit? Im not convinced God "called" youtubers to complain about pastors more than they pray fore them. 2) Why is there an assumption that these guys havent been to seminary? I dont personally know their grad school experience but neither does this guy in the video. However, my understanding is that Murphy IS, in fact, in seminary. MY seminary, as a matter of fact. 3) ANYBODY can buy a logos software and try to tare down every thing that every pastor says. My question is, how productive is THAT.. and how productive are YOU? That question goes to any person building their platforms on the criticisms of the sound bites of other people. 4) Many gospel artists were licensed and ordained (tried and proven) by their governing bodies and pastors long ago. Its just that their music took off so thats what they're primarily known for. So no, they didn't just start out of nowhere.
Humbly hopefully making the decision to no longer expend time on looking at people who openly confess Christianity through all kinds of media, music, public, political, secular, etc, kind of platforms expressing everything but the gospel. When there are truly people out here, ministers, pastors, missionaries, prayer warriors and so on, who are doing tremendous work for the kingdom a lot of them not even heard about because they are not going after these platforms. They not concerned about making their name known. They just wanna do the work. They truly fear and reverence God. They truly want the World to know that Jesus is the Christ, the anointed one.and truly want Him glorified even at the expense of their own lives, are defending the gospel, are searching the scriptures, Are humbling themselves. I’m tired of the circus acts. I know it’s wrong for me to label it as such. But I’m beginning to become so vexed and distracted because of it. I thank God for those who God has raised up to call it out. Somewhere in all the behavior I can’t help but notice is a degree of idolatry of self. To me that is one of the main things the enemy is going to try to get us to appeal to when all the while Jesus is saying the opposite. To deny and crucify the idolatry of self. We all need to continuously examine ourselves with the Word of God to make sure we are in the faith. That takes commitment and there is no apex you can arrive to where you think you all good and no longer need to do it. He said daily. This is not a game, we talking about eternity. We are no match for this on our own. If anything let’s continue to pray for the ones being seduced and led astray. Some of them are truly sincere truly love the lord. I was in this type of delusion thirty years ago ago and someone has to have prayed for me. I did not rescue myself out of it on my own. Somebody had to have been praying for me.
Where in scripture does God promote singers, entertainers, or celebrities to become leaders for His people? Why are believers so quick to place their trust in people that comes from a wicked industry of entertainment, with their salvation?
Now, I believe when guest pastor say something like that or similar, most pastors will meet with them afterwards and discuss it with in a one on one session. It is not to embarrass them especially with social media. Most pastors should not actively exposed their congregation to this but it is a slippery slope. With social media, you have to really stand on the Word, stand on your structure, and be willing to stand on your no.
It is simple - God has CALLED and SENT some and has given and does give them the ability to rightly divide, interpret, speak, and deliver His Word. The others have simply chosen to do on their own. Thus God has give US the ability to hear His Voice and to know the difference between those Calle and not called.

You’re using Malachi out of context.. first of all God said the people were robbing him because they weren’t giving the assigned grain to the tabernacle. Why were they giving tithes? Because it was to support the Levites who didnt get any land of ownership or could create money because they were assigned to the tabernacle so it was set in law the other tribes had to give in order for the Levites “Gods chosen” so they can survive. It was also to store for the poor and for famine . Tithing wasn’t EVER about giving to the church the church didn’t even exist in Malachi lol .

I don’t think we should generalize that Gospel artists don’t make good pastors based upon a few clips from their sermons. All Pastors slip up at least sometimes and say things that might now be 100% biblical. After all, pastors (regardless of whether or not they are recording artists) are human too and should be given a little grace, just like the rest of us when we mess up.

As a musician, I can’t listen to most gospel artists…Not because of the music, but because of the flagrant hypocrisy I’ve seen.
It’s both for me because they’re not even singing gospel music anymore. Gospel music hasn’t been gospel music in over 30 years

My question is; are they looking for a means to financially stability in being a pastor because the gospel music industry does not pay much? They are still entertaining in a worldly way. The church is out of control, period. We have too many people who want to be pastors not because of a calling but to be popular. because you are a gospel sanger or a pk, doesn't mean you are called. Many young pastors dont have training, no schooling, hasnt set under a true pastor, or teacher, leaning to their own understanding, teaching false doctrine, and just wrong. Just because a pastor's church is growing doesn't mean it's God sanctioned or blessed. A lot of people come out because the leader is well known, preaching what they want to hear, no comdemnation or repentance. We have to do better.

I am pretty sure Travis went to seminary. Unfortunately no amount of school can prepare you for the role of pastor/teacher if God doesn’t call you.
Amen! That's the problem. So many pastors are NOT CALLED by God, rather they have a piece of paper (degree). Going to seminary or Bible school is not bad but it's not a Scriptural requirement for pastoral leadership either. We've strayed from the narrow path now that being a pastor has become an occupation and not a calling from God. 🤦🏾♀️

I have always felt the same way and had my thoughts about why the gospel artists appeared to have a calling. My thoughts are if you do not have an income in one way, it has to be come another way. And yes they need formal Biblical training to shepherd and teach.

People think just because they sing, they can be a Pastor. Nothing could be further from the truth. I listened to Marvin Winans preach. The man has No gift for preaching. He was given the opportunity to tell the world about Jesus, at the Whitney Houston funeral, but instead he decided to show off his talent and created a show and hoop. No clear explanation of the gospel, no call to repent. Just a show. These people are not of God. Yes, God is more harsh than people think on the dreadful day of judgement. If we who are scarcely saved are barely in, how much harder is it for an unrepented sinner to enter heaven? Most people ever created will perish. Because people refuse to repent. Going to church is not a ticket to heaven, You must be born again. God living inside of you, causing us to walk in His ways. Human efforts to righteousness fall short every time. Only being born again will get you into heaven.

I think that its so easy for them to operate in error or teach false doctrines because they are only following what they have been exposed to. If their shepherds normally practice eisegesis, then the flock will follow. Proper hermeneutics is not a common practice in the "black" church.

The first time I came across his music I was soooo confused as to whether he was gospel or secular.
The lyrics didn’t sound like gospel at all to me. Yet he was being played on Christian music networks.
I even watched an interview he did talking about his career and it took him over an hour to mention Jesus. Imagine my shock when he announces that he’s launching a church 😮

He was performing a concert and likes to dance while doing so. There's no sin there. He also gives the Gospel message and ministers throughout his concert. I don't agree with aspects of his doctrine and questionable associations though.

It's difficult to even call them Gospel artists because they are already rooted in bad theology and unsound doctrine. So everything they produce is already as far away from the Gospel as one can get. But Gods mercy and patience is enduring. His steadfast love wills that they would come to Him in faith and repentance. It's sad that their influence is so pervasive.
Some of them didn’t want to be pastors. They took it on to ad legitimacy to their careers. Most were already descendants of ministers. Some of this is just pressure. I’ve never stepped into ministry in that fashion. I’ve stayed in my lane. You can’t do gods will while trying to do your own?
To be clear Juanita Bynum was in ministry before becoming a recording artist. You named Cee Cee winans. She was not the pastor her husband Calvin Love was the pastor. Finally perhaps you should look more into where and who bishop winans was mentored by rather than be critical of him. I also want to add going to seminary does not mean that one cannot be prone to false teaching. As a few of the people that you often mention have been taught in the seminary.

What was that I just saw?! Was that about the Gospel of Jesus Christ?! It looked more like a New Edition concert! All these current so - called Gospel artists are not anything I would ever support, much less, buy any of their music.
A few things I'd like to address: 1) Folks with channels like this, can rarely do the job better than the ones theyre criticizing. Otherwise, where is the fruit? Im not convinced God "called" youtubers to complain about pastors more than they pray fore them. 2) Why is there an assumption that these guys havent been to seminary? I dont personally know their grad school experience but neither does this guy in the video. However, my understanding is that Murphy IS, in fact, in seminary. MY seminary, as a matter of fact. 3) ANYBODY can buy a logos software and try to tare down every thing that every pastor says. My question is, how productive is THAT.. and how productive are YOU? That question goes to any person building their platforms on the criticisms of the sound bites of other people. 4) Many gospel artists were licensed and ordained (tried and proven) by their governing bodies and pastors long ago. Its just that their music took off so thats what they're primarily known for. So no, they didn't just start out of nowhere.

First of all, most contemporary gospel music is trash. So if these people are singing trash, how can their doctrine be correct?

Humbly hopefully making the decision to no longer expend time on looking at people who openly confess Christianity through all kinds of media, music, public, political, secular, etc, kind of platforms expressing everything but the gospel. When there are truly people out here, ministers, pastors, missionaries, prayer warriors and so on, who are doing tremendous work for the kingdom a lot of them not even heard about because they are not going after these platforms. They not concerned about making their name known. They just wanna do the work. They truly fear and reverence God. They truly want the World to know that Jesus is the Christ, the anointed one.and truly want Him glorified even at the expense of their own lives, are defending the gospel, are searching the scriptures, Are humbling themselves. I’m tired of the circus acts. I know it’s wrong for me to label it as such. But I’m beginning to become so vexed and distracted because of it. I thank God for those who God has raised up to call it out. Somewhere in all the behavior I can’t help but notice is a degree of idolatry of self. To me that is one of the main things the enemy is going to try to get us to appeal to when all the while Jesus is saying the opposite. To deny and crucify the idolatry of self. We all need to continuously examine ourselves with the Word of God to make sure we are in the faith. That takes commitment and there is no apex you can arrive to where you think you all good and no longer need to do it. He said daily. This is not a game, we talking about eternity. We are no match for this on our own. If anything let’s continue to pray for the ones being seduced and led astray. Some of them are truly sincere truly love the lord. I was in this type of delusion thirty years ago ago and someone has to have prayed for me. I did not rescue myself out of it on my own. Somebody had to have been praying for me.

Where in scripture does God promote singers, entertainers, or celebrities to become leaders for His people? Why are believers so quick to place their trust in people that comes from a wicked industry of entertainment, with their salvation?
Now, I believe when guest pastor say something like that or similar, most pastors will meet with them afterwards and discuss it with in a one on one session. It is not to embarrass them especially with social media. Most pastors should not actively exposed their congregation to this but it is a slippery slope. With social media, you have to really stand on the Word, stand on your structure, and be willing to stand on your no.

It is simple - God has CALLED and SENT some and has given and does give them the ability to rightly divide, interpret, speak, and deliver His Word. The others have simply chosen to do on their own. Respectfully, your view about tithing is incorrect and irresponsible doctrine.
God who spoke by His messenger Malachi says, "I change not." And He also says in that same book, "You have robbed me in tithes & offerings."
Paul the Apostle would never seek to change what God has said, but doctrinally will compliment what God has said. Of course, God is longsuffering towards us all and sees that not everybody will be able to tithe and present an offering. But a woman with 2 mites gave of her heart to honor what God has put in her heart.

You’re using Malachi out of context.. first of all God said the people were robbing him because they weren’t giving the assigned grain to the tabernacle. Why were they giving tithes? Because it was to support the Levites who didnt get any land of ownership or could create money because they were assigned to the tabernacle so it was set in law the other tribes had to give in order for the Levites “Gods chosen” so they can survive. It was also to store for the poor and for famine . Tithing wasn’t EVER about giving to the church the church didn’t even exist in Malachi lol .

I don’t think we should generalize that Gospel artists don’t make good pastors based upon a few clips from their sermons. All Pastors slip up at least sometimes and say things that might now be 100% biblical.
After all, pastors (regardless of whether or not they are recording artists) are human too and should be given a little grace, just like the rest of us when we mess up.
Believe that they struggle to be pastors because they are use to being crowd pleasers through entertainment
