Yiga Clan: "Am I a joke to you?"
Yes
i saw another video going with the argument that maybe the Yiga clan was the one that made this, some kind of ritual or something, and they pointed out the similar look between ganondorf and the sheikah monks in the shrines
Explain the blue cloths similar to those of the Champion's clothing material?
Yes. All of you and your stoopid, joke of an enemy ''Muster Khogcrap''

Yiga Clan: Are you sure about that?
Nintendo: “The sequel to Breath of the Wild is now in development.”
Arlo: “Judging by this information I’m assuming this means the sequel to Breath of the Wild is now in development .”

It was amazing
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
That's a pretty big assumption to make Arlo...
At least his interpretation was competent 😂
The good thing about using the same engine is that they can focus on story and new mechanics.

Nintendo please give a shit about the story this time...😟
What we really need is a new successor to the switch with 3 x 4 times the graphical power that can let us play at 1080p 60 fps.

I had certain vibes from it myself that I enjoyed more than even Ocarina of Time to be honest. I recall clearly the N64 needed an expansion pack to play it though and that was one reason why I couldn't figure out how it worked until some years later. Great game though. That alien part was hilarious.
Arlo, that hand is clearly the toilet hand from Majoras Mask. Can't believe you would miss such an obvious detail in an analysis video.
Must be a reference to the dark aspects of the games.

Luminous stones were said to hold the souls of the dead.
The squiggly light things and the weird hand shine the same glow as luminous stones.

At 0.44 in the trailer we can see Link with a glowing hand. So I think what’s happening here is:
- Glowing hand is keeping Ganondorf trapped.
- Something happens that make Zelda fall, Link tries to save her, but also falls.
- Glowing hand "decides" to save link and it grabs his hand.
- This releases Ganondorf and he is alive again, but in return Link now has the power of Glowing hand.
Iplaythedjembe favorite theory so far
I thought the same thing, it sounds super possible
What if this game has a "gimmick" that Link can seal evil away or some shit?
WHAT IF that hand was the power of master sword keeping Ganondorf sealed away and when Link fell to save Zelda, the sword has decided to save his master instead of keeping Ganondorf?
The hand also reminds me of Fi's design, like her left side. But we never saw her hands in skyward sword, maybe the spirit of the master sword was keeping things under control and then link showed up and was able to gain that power from the hand.
You know what I found kind of weird? In the zelda lore there's always one gerudo male born every 100 years, yet we never see or hear mention of this other than ganon (who wasn't really referred or hinted at being a gerudo in the first place). And in breath of the wild, link gets killed and is taken to the temple of resurrection for 100 years as well, which would lead us to believe that there would be another male born right?
Wrong.
The gerudo male was never born because...
Ganon was never dead.
minscay oh shoot...
They didn't really need to hint to Gannondor being Gerudo... because you can just look at him and see that he is.
I think the male gerudo is born even if there’s another living male gerudo
@@lukejones4245 I think breath of the Wild kind of fixed that. If I remember right, some of the women talk about the Gerudo men and women having to travel far and wide in search of each other.
@@krislancaster1214
Close; Gerudo women go out into Hyrule to find mates among the Hylians.
In OOT they kidnapped and imprisoned Hylian men to serve as babymakers.
So here's my thoughts:
1) We never actually see the pack beast in the same shot as the corpse. It's entirely possible that these scenes are completely unconnected and were just stapled together for the trailer.
2) The hand is, in my opinion, definitely some kind of sealing spell and/or entity keeping Ganondorf contained, and it seems to be of Gerudo origin.
3) When Link reaches out and recoils, it looks like the glowy green magic stuff is absorbed into his arm. I'm calling it right now: This is the new gimmick for the game, Link will have this crazy magic hand with all sorts of abilities not unlike his Sheikah smartphone from the first game. Nintendo really got into that concept of having a suite of abilities to manipulate the environment, and I have no doubt that they are going to expand on that. Link's new green magic hand is going to be the source.
4) I have two theories as far as the ending goes. One is that the castle is being taken to a new location, possibly even another plane of existence, and Link & Zelda are along for the ride. Second is that the castle is being moved out of reach, and Link & Zelda will be spelunking through an underground world trying to find a way to reach it. Either way, the fact is that we need a new world to explore, and this is going to be tied to it.
5) These underground caverns have a lot of those blue crystals, which were used in ancient Sheikah technology but were NOT a common item in the overworld. Just getting a few arrows made of the stuff was expensive and difficult. The point is that these things are rare, so seeing them naturally underground tells me this place has been untouched for an extremely long time. I think these caverns are going to expose more of the history of when these crystals were once mined, and perhaps this will be tired into the original conflict with Ganondorf. A resource like that would certainly be a good basis for a war.
AkuTenshiiZero I like your 3rd theory
might be a bit late, but it's kinda obvious that the gems are luminous stones, not the ancient tech made of an unknown substance but this extent of untouched stones could also suggest that the place is untouched. so, your 5th theory isn't completely ruined.
@@jjtheprogenitor I think they're timeshiftstones which the ocarina of time is made of. We know the Shiekah used them for their technology in Skyward Sword to build robots, so maybe their technology now is also made out of timeshiftstones. This would for example explain how the guardians could stay active for 10000 years and how the monks could survive this long. Maybe travel Link and Zelda in time?
I might be totaly wrong but dont the things at the top of the catacomb look like some type of guardian stuff (2:05)

"this.. this malice goop."
agreed!
I scrolled down here and read this exactly as he said it.
Honestly, it's why I'm here lol
All right this is my theory:
Link and Zelda have a reason to know about this 'dungeon' underneath the castle. Something seems off in the land of Hyrule and Zelda is afraid of something going on down in this 'dungeon', so Link and Zelda go to investigate the dungeon, packed and well, because they're not sure how big the 'dungeon' is.
We see several shots of them travelling through the 'dungeon' (5:39, 8:32), including the one on the bridge (10:09). This is where they enter the entrance shown (14:07), but their pack-animal doesn't want to go across the broken bridge, so they leave him behind and enter.
Here they stumble across the paintings on the wall (4:12 and later 10:18), where Zelda finds out that the paintings are about Ganondorf in the past and how he was locked away down in this place. At 10:37 she realizes that Ganondorf is locked away down here, which is why later they might not be as surprised to see the corpse (or they were shocked and we just didn't get to see it).
They progress and eventually find the room (6:47) where the corpse is. Ganondorf is being held in place by ancient magic of some sort (the arm, 11:37), but it's slowly losing control over the situation, hence why the squiggly thingies are floating away from him (5:33) and why the malice coming from the corpse seems to be gaining control (10:55). It is also possible that the magic loses control after Link touches it (13:15) or both. Anyway, Link touches it and the magic seems to partially go into his arm now... (13:29)?
This is where stuff goes terribly wrong. Ganondorfs power gains control over the situation and he manages to free himself (14:42 and 15:43, where Ganondorf has regained control over his movement and possibly even 16:18, where Ganondorfs body is fully back in his control). Link backs away from the corpse as the ancient magic fades away (19:50) and the malace is free to spread (13:31). It causes the floor to break apart (15:16 and the bit after it shows malace floating through the air, just like around malace in BotW, showing that the malace is spreading now) and Zelda falls down (15:31). Link tries to grab her (13:48), but the ancient magic force (don't really understand that part but ok) drags Link back up (14:14). Link is caught off guard and lets go of Zelda, who after falling down seems to be staring at something scary (16:09), then the malace spreads even further (9:06). The only thing after this would probably be the rising castle (17:49), I haven't really concluded what that's about, but I think it's caused by Ganondorf and his regaining of power.
Let's see in about 2 years from now how wrong I was :)
TL; DR
Zelda got a haircut

Someone has probably mentioned this but at 17:40 the earrings have a Gerudo symbol. It's definitely Ganondorf
The pedestal he's lying on at 11:25 also has the Gerudo symbol! It has to be him, I'm just wondering how he fits into all this when Zelda said in botw that he had given up on reincarnation
i think i remember something on GameTheory where they explain what timeline botw is in and how he didnt reincarnate as ganondorf for any of those games so him having the gerudo jewlery from ocarina of time makes a lot of sense. I can't remember every little detail about what that video had because i haven't seen it in a long while but i like the effort the game designers went to to show what ganondorf we are seeing
@@daniell.5148 "given up on reincarnation" was a mistranslation.
It could just be that the magic glowy hand held ganondorf's body in limbo, forcing his spirit to try to reform elsewhere, like all the mechanical gross stuff at the end of BOTW.
The green morphing light also flits in and out of letters from the Gerudo alphabet.
Just FYI, the Gerudo symbol is all over the corpse’s jewellery and chair. So yeah, it’s Ganondorf.
Also he has the weird forehead jewel. Which I never even took conscious note of before.
Yeah I love how Arlo noticed how the jewerly screamed gerudo but missed the symbol that is blatantly on the earrings
Or another male Gerudo. The lore never stated that every make Gerudo has to be a reincarnation of Ganon.

@@TheGlasses61 no but considering the malice emitting from the corpse and the overall history of zelda games.... Its ganondorf's dead body. And that will be used to explain lore-wise why ganon had no humanoid form in botw

Psycho Magalor yeah. I like the dudes there too
Let me share my theory here:
Have you noticed how in the trailer there's a portion of the malice that is moving upwards, towards what appears to be some metal tubes (they look like the same material used on the Guardian's legs)? What if Ganondorf's malice is the real source of the Sheikah technology? What if the the Sheikah found a way to convert the evil energy into the blue, harmless energy that powers their machinery? Think about it. This would explain why the malice could be used to control the Divine Beasts. Its the same energy, just in its raw form. Maybe thats why Vah Rutah stops working in the end BotW. Somehow, the defeat of Calamity Ganon may have damaged the flux of energy that used to fed all of Hyrule. That would also explain why theres no sign of sheikah techonology to be seen in this trailer. All of it stopped working. Maybe that's what prompts Zelda to investigate whats the cause and they end up discovering something thats was meant to be forgotten.
@Andrew Gray I know that. But my theory is that when they first fought him they still didnt have technology. Instead, they had to use real magic. After that they figured out how to transform the malice into usable energy.
I like your theory - it would make sense. After Vah Ruta has stopped working, they try to find the answer, going to seek the energy source, and then they discover that!
@Andrew Gray well think about it this way- he was calamity canon when they fought him with the beasts. Which means his physical form has been trapped for even longer, and the malice escaping the seal had already existed and begun to form Calamity Ganon.
They had his body and the source of malice before they fought him with the powered tech. It does make sense.
Incredible theory
What if Link and Zelda have to save Ganondorf from Demise’s curse?
This would be such an amazing story. Sadly, I don't think it will happen
I seconded that, gods do I want it to happen... Knowing nintendo though, who knows, really?
Never.
That would be interesting and raise/answer some good questions.
Is Gannondorf really evil? Or is more like a corruption forced upon him by Demise's dark power?
Just Squid wish we could’ve seen fisherman Ganondorf in MM like it was originally planned

Link:How many times do I have to teach you this lesson old man
Ganondorf: I love the young people

Link: ...
Well EXCUUUUUUSE me, princess!
Ganon being spelled with two n:s makes me cringe sometimes.
When Link pulls his hand back, he's definitely being bestowed some kind of power. He's not just reaching to touch the corpse. For one, he has his entire right sleeve rolled up, and his left arm is keeping his right arm straight and forward. So he was clearly prepared for this and planning on what is happening here to happen.
Yeah to me it looks like he shoots some kind of magic which makes me very excited

Zelda's haircut IS the most important detail from this trailer Arlo.
still think she's gonna be playable/fight alongside link in some way
personally don't like the short hair look, wish she kept old look, but knowing nintendo it be dlc later, they going jump on that band wagon too
i can just imagine zelda asking link for help with a haircut and he tries to use his sword
Terry Lee Specht III what about how Ganon (or whoever that is) looks like the original hero of the kingdom?
@@lionclan4575 Yup I'm thinking short hair so it'd be easier for helms, caps and hoods to fit. Also easier to animate if she's gonna be a playable character (though Aloy in 'Horizon Zero Dawn' has long hair, pretty sure other video games also have long haired playable characters)
The hand must be a kind of seal holding Ganondorf's heart in place. That's my take away
The three things I got out of the trailer:
1) The tone of the game will probably be reminiscent of Twilight Princess, which I hope includes grittier combat.
2) Link probably gets glowy hand powers which replace the functionality the Shika Slate had in BotW.
3) Short Hair Zelda is cute AF.
In an interview, I believe with Gamespot, developers were asjed if tgis game would be the equivalent of Majora's Mask.
They said no, this would be darker.
Darker! I'm excited!
@@Cyclamenz I mean Majora's Mask isn't as dark as people make it out to be. It's a bit heavy but so is Ocarina sometimes. I just hope BotW 2 doesn't try too hard to be dark, becoming the emo teen of the Zelda series.
@@thatdanjamesguy.330 I don't think it'll be the emo teen, pretty sure that goes to Wand of Gamelon.
As for Majora, that's valid. I think a lot of the praise we give these games comes from subtleties and what we read into it. I personally see Majora as a better example of a dark Zelda, superior to Twilight Princess. This could be due to the story, or simply the amount of time I spent playing each game.
@@Cyclamenz If BotW 2 dethrones Wand of Gamelon in any way, something went wrong lol. I can just imagine the ending now: Ganondorf: "You've killed me!" Link/Zelda: "Good."
Majora's Mask is still a dark Zelda that handles its content well. I agree with you about it and Twilight Princess: to me, Majora's Mask is dark whereas Twilight Princess is "dark" (it's themed after the idea that it will be a dark Zelda). And subtle stuff in sparse narratives (like those of most Nintendo games) is always great in my opinion.
weaponmasterJConn i hope they get the dark and gritty right this time
At 7:24 Ganondorf, Link, and Zelda are standing in the formation on the triforce.
Link and Courage on the bottom right

I mean, even though he wasn't a very well liked king, Ganondorf was a king of hyrule. So it makes sense for him to get a proper burial and for him to get decorated. Considering people like Ingo existed, it seems like at least a few hylians enjoyed Ganondorf's reign.

The only timelines where he got to be King of Hyrule (Adult TImeline and Downfall Timeline) he was sealed into the Sacred Realm (which later becomes the Dark World) so no body to bury, in the Child Timeline Link warns Zelda of what Ganondorf was GOING to do, and he is executed, of course that doesn't work, so they panic and seal him in the Twilight Realm. @@labrynianrebel Yes, but breath of the wild doesn't seem to limit itself To one of the timelines. The sense I get is that the hand is a friendly force, perhaps keeping Ganondorf in an undead “stasis”. When the ground beneath Zelda gives way, Link grabs her, and the hand grabs Link.
Wade Wojcik I don’t think the hand is good or evil it symbolizes a cruel form of justice, a chaotic neutral.
But chaotic neutrals don't care about justice
Ooh possibly. What if its a manifestation of the power inside the Master Sword? Keeping Ganondorf in this undead "stasis" as you said. Maybe its just reacting to Link being so close to the threat of all that built up malice around him and thus breaking the seal it held on Ganondorf.
What if the green hand is Ganondorf and it's leeching life from Majora?
14:55 that looks like Demise, but since Ganondorf is Demise reincarnated the shadow can be only symbolic

I’m expecting something more like Sheikah shrines old, but it’d be cool if it was related to older lore
I'm guessing it's a seal that makes ganon's spirit rest. Due to all the symbols and stuff. Maybe the malice reawakens him and destroys the seal.
It almost reminded me of Skyward Sword's Temple ruins tbh.
Wesley Damaschino Unless it’s related to Skyward Sword. Nintendo is obsessed with referencing Skyward Sword for some reason. Probably because it’s the Genesis of the series lore-wise.
Yes, I agree that zelda's haircut is the most important thing here
It very well could be! Long hair on player character models is notorious for causing clipping issues. With a shorter haircut, it would be easier to elegantly add stuff to Zelda's character models, such as sheathed weapons, bows and quivers, a shield on her back, or various hats.
In other words... playable Zelda? The teaser seems to be ambiguous about whether Zelda or Link disappears. Perhaps you get to choose?

It’s a hand of the forms of Gannon in the divine beasts
I dunno, piano can be pretty scary.
Remember the first time you ran into a Guardian?
Also the haunted piano in Mario 64
The rat actually gets controlled by ganon. As we all know, rats are enemies in Zelda games. Ganon is gonna take the rats and start a plague
*rat. Blight. GANON*
I can’t wait till this actually happens

Black plague part 2
That actually sounds badass and would fit with the darker tone
A: what if the “ganondorf guy” is yuga? He has a crystal on his head, he has red hair, he has tons of jewelry, and the corpse looks VERY similar.
B: That hand looks like a hand of the forms of Gannon that’s in each of the divine beasts
What if after link destroyed yuga ganon they were sent here by the sages and ganon (still merged with yuga) reverted to his human form, which explains the yuga like things on ganondorf
Arlo was so caught up in the spooks he didn't talk about the possible playability/Co-op with Zelda and Link.
(Screams in high frequency that only bats can hear)
its not this is the classic separation scene.
Or maybe you can choose who you want to play as in the beginning. Kinda like choose your gender thing that many RPGs do.
Because link gets grabbed by the hand and not Zelda I think (and hope) that Zelda will be rescuing link.
Nope Ganon has already got her in the trailer, it is like Mario...

I imagine in the sequel, zelda is going to be a companion character, possibly may be multiplayer. she has a shorter haircut to make it easier to avoid clipping issues when making armor and such. A lot of RPGs with character customization do this for female characters, especially older ones before they had real good hair physics.
I also just really like the hair in general.
They didn't really give a crap about clipping with Link's armor in the first one.
Good point. A lot of people (in the west, at least) have been begging for a playable Zelda and these kinds of details suggest they might get it in some form.
*And, yes, Zelda was a playable character before... But the less we speak of that CDi monstruosity, the better.
I personally would like to see them both travel as companions, maybe be able to switch between them at anytime to solve puzzles in a four swords sort of fashion.
I also just thought of the fact of the blue hand being part of a possible companion character, i saw some people where upset that there wasn't one in BOTW, and id be cool to get a Minda sort of deal again. what will probably happen is that link wont have the tablet in this game after returning it to Zelda, and the hand will replace the powers it gave him.
If it is multiplayer, I could see a situation where Zelda uses the tablet, and link has the ghost hand thing, and they have the same abilities.
The concept art for Breath of the Wild could give clues to the sequel, they wrote about it over at Polygon. Basically, there is concept art of hyrule castle floating above the lands, and of link having a magic arm that can turn into different weapons.
Floating castle feels like a given after the teaser, but honestly, I would prefer it to stomp around hyrule field on giant stone legs lol
My guess for a part of this story is that this magic blue hand is what kept this form of ganondorf trapped for centuries, but its power was weakening and ganondorf would soon escape, hence all the goopy dark magic. So whatever magic or consciousness that compels this hand decided to latch onto link, hoping that link could use that last of its power to finish off ganondorf, instead of just containing him. So instead of a shiekah slate (which was designed with the wii u gamepad in mind anyway), we're gonna get magic blue hand link.
Bro u were technically right! About links hand and stuff!!!!

When you reverse it it sounds like someone singing "poor Hyrule link has found the body
Poor Hyrule link is gone"
Maybe the hand took link and you play as zelda
One thing that I believe Arlo didn’t point out : There are multiple people with bows behind Ganondorf on the mural, and what seems to be a hand at the edge of the wall, so it’s prooobably a war depiction. But great job man ! You got me even more hyped somehow.
The symbols in the air are Gerudo Letters and a theory says that the Blue hand is the hand that sealled ganon 10 000 years ago (In the painting that impa shows the hero is in blue)
Ganondorf is the person pictured in the BotW tapestry. 10,000 years before the return of Calamity Ganon... 10,100 years before the resurrection of Link... Ganondorf appealed to the Shiekah, to Princess Zelda and to the goddess Hylia. He sought to end the torment he knew he would both suffer and inflict. He sought to rid himself of Demise. They prepared. Created the divine beasts and the guardians. For when the souls were separated, they knew Demise would be furious. That his wrath would be... calamitous.
Through methods unknown, they separated the two souls. Ganondorf, now purified of evil, took up the Master Sword and did battle with the dark entity.
And while Zelda sealed away Demise, Ganondorf fell. His sacrifice ushered in 10,000 years of peace. But... Demise was clever and insidious. Instead of allowing Ganondorf to die in peace, his minions took Ganondorfs body before it could die.
They kept Ganondorf trapped between this world and the next. He could not reincarnate or pass on. The Gerudo would be without a king for over 10,000 years.
And when Ganondorf returned... he was a husk of a man. Demise forced himself back upon the tattered remains of his victim. And thus was born... Calamity Ganon.
But when Link destroyed Ganon beneath Hyrule castle... he ended Ganondorfs 10,100 years of torment. Leaving only Demise with the one option... to release Ganondorf's soul, fully inhabiting his body and becoming DARK BEAST GANON.
And this time, when the Evil was slain... the curse was broken.
The Master Sword could now rest, Link could find peace and Zelda could no longer hear the voice of the goddess... for it was no longer necessary.
But... Demise was clever... and insidious.
For the bodies of the four Champions of Hyrule... the rightful pilots of the Divine Beasts... had been secreted away...
Soon... Link and Zelda would be forced to do battle with the possessed husks of their long dead friends...
Is it just me, or does it look like the glowing greeny/blue hand is covering a hole in the corpse’s chest that is leaking the evil goopy stuff...🤷♂️
To me it looks like it's coming out of (or going into) his chest itself. Almost like Malice is some kind of Evil Soul Blood.
Wait, the other place we see a hole in Ganondorf's chest is the stab wounds in Twilight Princess, and the placement seems to match up. BotW is now child timeline in my headcanon.
@@mccookies3664 Zelda in BOTW did make a reference to Twilight Princess in the flashback when she was knighting Link. It's likely this could be in a post Twilight Princess world? Which would be why Ganondorf has that stabwound he got in TP.
at 2:04 those spiky pillars look the same as the pillars around hyrule castle in botw 1
Probably just asset recycling.
This is what makes me think the area is under the castle
In what way? Those were flat ish at the top and covered in the little light designs of sheikh tech, these are pointed and with looping patterns carved into the surface, you know? Aside from being pillar like things I dont see the resemblance

A 'glowy hole'. Lol
This is the game where gannondorf makes good* on his final promise to the hero of time: "I WILL EXTERMINATE YOUR DESCENDANTS"
*or tries to at least.
1. Gerudo markings on the cape and jewelry.
2. The eyes in deadman Ganon were the same style as the big eye on the back of BotW final-form beast Ganon.
3. That pack animal isn't in the original... and neither are the rats. Minimum = new creatures.
4. Timestone crystals, possibly?
5. Hype. Hype everywhere.
6. I'll add that the scene where the blue ancient hand grabs Zelda while falling, might actually be link using his newly gained power after touching the hand shown in a previous scene. An extending ancient hand might be the new gameplay mechanic this time. Punching, maybe?
@@TexelGuy I thought about that too, but pretty sure it's - Link grabs Zelda's hand, then blue hand grabs Link's hand.
I'll add 7. The hand and its gold remind me of tower of the gods from Wind Waker, but... it's probably just a general stylistic choice.
@@EdwardVanWinkle Yeah, that could also be it, and maybe after that link's hand turns blue and he get's a special power? The time line of these scenes could be anything at this point.
@@TexelGuy True that. I thought the blue was taking over his hand at one point, but Arlo pointed out it might be like a force field knocking his hand back. Best part is, at this moment, nearly anything's possible. :)
@@EdwardVanWinkle Yeah this game's looking great. The trailer encouraged me to get back to finishing botw in master mode after a hiatus.
There's quite a bit of speculation for this trailer, so I'll add my own thoughts as well.
The motif on the wall is, without a doubt, Ganondorf. Phantom Ganon from OoT is the only time we see him in that particular way, but it's easy to assume that's how he would have been like before gaining the Triforce of power and foregoing the trident.
The hand is definitely a seal of some kind to keep the malice from escaping, as the wound in his chest has more of a bursting type of shape to it, implying that the malice literally burst from him. It's hard to say what it could mean without the context from the story, but it could also possibly be related to Demise and the curse.
The hand itself has the same coloring as the monks in the shrines when they fade away, so it could be related to them. It could also be that, maybe it's the arm of the ancient queen using a sealing spell like Zelda was meant to, or even Hylia herself, to stop this dark power from escaping into the world. The jewelry on the arm looks royal or important in some fashion, but the long nails could mean it's something else entirely. Very hard to tell.
The ceiling above Ganondorf reminds me of the towers and how they distill map data, as it almost looks like the malice could be dripping onto his corpse, or it could be rising, like when it breaks free.
When Link's hand glows, it could possibly be him accidentally breaking the seal, or being granted some new power in response to the seal breaking, likely in response to him being the hero. Since the hand also reaches for him to save him from falling into the abyss, there's also a chance the hand could be his new "companion" in the form of game mechanic powers.
That's what I got for now. Still trying to come up with more possibilities.
I'm calling it: a time related mechanic, I think the video was out of order/confused for a reason
Salome's Studio a lot of trailers are out of order and weird. Doesn't mean anything
Dissect it like 6th grade Hylians dissect the thousand-year-old pig man that is Ganondorf.

Someone said that those green symbols make Gerudo letters. So maybe the Gerudo trapped Ganon their.
Or it is his castle
Even creepier, when you play it backwards at 23:19 you can hear a whisper that says "help us... please"
"its gona rise up, sprout legs, and walk away!" XD why arlo? XD
The Divine Beasts are basically walking buildings, so it's not actually that far out.
The castle could be built upon the last divine beast. All the other races got one, maybe the Hylian's did too. Also, maybe the last divine beast has something to do with why the sheikah technology was considered dangerous and lost to time.
That's a great theory.
@@kitkatwitch
I thought the Hylian Divine Beast was the Master Cycle. Which would make tactical sense given the unique role the Hylian Champion (Link) plays in defeating Gannon.
Personally, I hope this sequel to breath of the wild has a feeling similar to twilight princess, because that Zelda game has such a unique and creepy feel to it.
audio plays backwards:
Come find us, and you can find the body.
Come find us, or he’ll feast by the morning.
Come find us, or Link is gone by morning.
Come find us, or Link is gone.
All of the stuff found in the BotW 2 reveal: If reversed, it sounds like the game over theme from Zelda 1, a voice that somewhat resembles Fi saying "Hyrule is falling, down a hole". Another is how the things in the trailer represent the Triforce peices,
Malice - Red
Ancient Technology Energy - Blue
The Hand - Green
Power - Red
Wisdom - Blue
Courage - Green
Vandeer very interesting, with Fi appearing and it looking (in my opinion) like the corpse is that of Demise it could be possible that this is a sequel to BOTW in terms of chronology and setting but a sequel to SS in terms of story
I was just watching you big ol’ review of BoTW but sure, interrupt that why don’t you.
-large luminous stones light the way. We could make serious bank off that if we mined it.
-The eyes are the same ones as the Malice eyes so it could be taking over the corpse or returning power back to the corpse.
-15:16 the shot is of Link feeling the ground give out and then it does the next shot. It looks like Link is looking at the malice by the way of the color. And about to go for his sword until he hears Zelda falling.
-12:52 the left hand of the corpse has a puncture in it's palm like a hole was drilled into it. There are also punctures just under the hand and 3 under his ribs going toward his belly button
- 15:10 malice is leaving the body and the hand is giving off the light. There doesn't seem to be a way to get that kind of silhouette from that angle so it seems to be a flashback of HOW it happened. The floating hand is straighter than what's on the shadow and the corpse's left hand is not high enough in the shadow. It looks like the shadow is before the corpse fell while the corpse looks like it's in mid fall
-The color of the swirl and over all look of the hand remind me of the Masters of the Shrines.
-14:06 that doesnt look like it was in the castle. It reminds me of the ruins from either the mountain to the top left of the map where we found the leviathan or the large cavern where we find the great lost fairy statue, or the great plateau. The way they are dressed it looks like it's the cavern or great plateau since they r wearing capris instead of pants, but the extra padding on link's arms could say otherwise.
-in all I think its them going on an expedition in the area of the lost temple in the huge cavern where the fairy statue is. They go down the cavern lit by humongous luminous stones and along the way find water going down the cavern (perhaps what cut the large cavern we played in the last game). They press on and find what looks like the energy of a Master's hand trying to hold back a former Ganon's Malice. (The shrines predate our Link and Zelda so it's possible that the masters had enough strength to hold back a Ganon and prevent him from causing any harm.) It seems to have lost strength since the Malice is spilling out around the area, enough so that the malice is flowing straight up toward the ceiling. Link moves ahead of Zelda and tries to move toward the sight when the magic seems to repel him, leaving just enough of an opening to release the Ganon and let the Malice burst out of the body and destroy the area. Since we have seen the pillars reactivate all at once around the map it is entirely possible that this causes a reaction that leads whatever is under the castle (as seen when investigating the library behind a bookshelf) to activate. Leaving us with our final shot from the great plateau looking onward to the castle.
The shadow showing Ganondorf and the hand, Ganondorf looks oddly like Demise
Marble Pie I was thinking the same thing. The shadow is really bulky, and even sports a undergarb skirt like Demise does
Could be because demise was also stabbed in the chest(?) by skyward sword link
@@sirdaniel9485 yea but he's sealed in the master sword, so the wound is from tp ganondorf being impaled.
Marble Pie was thinking the same for a while, but on a closer look, he doesn't have demise nose and is wearing similar clothes to wind waker ganondorf, but with the chest scar from TP.
I think the hand is supposed to act like a "plug", to stop the malice from spewing out of - what we can assume is - Ganondorf. In the latter part of the trailer, we see malice erupting towards the pyramid ceiling, and in that shot, the green-ish "squiggles" produced by the hand are nowhere to be seen.
Of course that means the plugging job had been... lackluster, since, you know, Breath of the Wild happened. Maybe the hand was also made to keep Ganondorf from awakening once again, and that's exactly what happens here after the hand gets removed.
I just noticed that the effect looks like a Blood Moon when Ganondorf’s eyes appear
Yes because they're round and red.
Maybe because the blood moon is linked to Ganon. No, that "linked" isn't a joke.
OMFG Arlo, I thought I was the only one that saw the hand and thought, "Wow, that's SUPER familiar!"
I also felt that way the moment I heard the backwards chanting and such. It really reminded me of the Twilit realm and I almost immediately thought of Midna.
Did anyone else notice that Link’s Champion tunic got a bit of a redesign?
Yeah, he added a bit more armour to it in the form of some leather pads
Now I want Hyrule Castle to sprout legs and walk away more than I want everything.

The blue hand is holding ganon in place and is good. That's why ganon had awoken when link disrupts the hand and why you see the hand helping link. The hand being good also links to the design, it's very blue and yellow inferring good rather than evil also as it contrasts to the purple and black from ganon.
The corpses cloth has the Gerudo symbol on it. Definitely Ganondorf.
The hand reminds me a lot of midna's hand when you grab midna poiints in TP. Maybe we could be dealing with the Twilight Realm?
Did the Malice-goop transform the rat into a...minion, a mini boss, a Ganon Blight??? Rat-Blight, Scourge of Underground!
No that's actually how Master Splinter was mutated. Get with it
*The Legend of Zelda: Curse of the Fallen*
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is part 1 of many videos on BotW 2
Well yeah obviously
You know, I thought Breath of the Wild's absence of Redeads was a bit off, Now I under stand they must be a part of "Death of the Wild"
I think the story Will be like: Ganon starts to become stronger and stronger each time he come back and he starts break free from the "sage capture" so the Zelda from 1000 years ago ask to the sheikah a way to trap him forever, so the sheikah build the guardians, They build the shrines and the towers (to sorta Power up the entire thing), they build all the "vha's", they build the hand thing and they fight Ganon (1000 years ago) but they don't kill him, instead they took him to that strange hand and they stun him down there beliving that that would have stopped Ganon, and that do works well for 900 years bit Ganon find a way to escape as the "Ganondorf Beast" and as the corruption and he toke controll of all sheikah tecnology ti find a way to escape but he doesn't find It until link beat him down, than Ganon try ti break free from the "hand thing" and he starts to create caos, and so the Castle decide to run away in the Sky (to recreate Zelda skyward safe zone)
Maybe they journeyed across Gerudo desert to find Ganons tomb. That would explain all the luggage on the back of the elephant-looking-thing
And it would also explain the Zonai look, because there's a Lomei Labyrinth in the Gerudo desert. Although there are Zonai heads in Central Hyrule so idk
