English referees have been overly protected too much. Finally, we get to see them held accountable for their actions, but this needs to happen more often
People often argue that "it's just an opinion." However, it's not merely an opinion. If it were a random person expressing these views, it might not matter, but when a video clearly demonstrates that an official holds prejudiced views against Liverpool while officiating their games, that is completely unacceptable.
As a Liverpool fan, this is hilarious. Especially knowing that Klopp is probably laughing just as much the fact he can sit back and see the guy lose his job for something that dont mean peanuts to him anymore🤣
It would have been all over for PGMOL if klopp was managing Liverpool with him gone it is not going to have that much impact on the authorities and responsible bodies regulating code of conduct in the premier league. When you are at the top level of any profession even the slightest mistakes can cause your downfall and in this case it’s a professional who should be neutral in terms of talking about anyone. He was drunk or had some substance not being in senses doesn’t allow you to abuse someone. Refs are meant to be neutral at all times and decisions on field shouldn’t impact the life of any professional off field the way this ref talked was pure hatred towards a group, a nation and a club which by no means should be allowed. It’s actually disgraceful and disgusting that these are the professionals that are responsible for fair play and decisions over 700 league matches in a season of football at the top level.
Uk what this does? Everyone can have speculation that refs have bias, but everyone has the conclusion that they don’t because they are professionals. This opens a completely new door for discussion, because we now know this happens for SURE. It makes decisions against Liverpool over the years, Arsenal and teams like wolves and forest all the more controversial
Nick, with how ass PIFA is this year I’ve really been enjoying this channel more than the main tbh. Keep uploading football content on here it’s great stuff
Everyone saying it’s not a big deal aren’t looking at the bigger picture, he’s a person that has the ability to significantly impact matches and seasons. He is openly against one of the clubs that competes for the league that he officiates in, after the video, every decision he makes in a game that could possibly impact Liverpool in anyway can be called into question. Not sacking him sets a dangerous precedent that openly biased referees are allowed to continue in the league, which leads to even worse refereeing
@@hitoday4474 Odegaard handball last year? Not giving the foul of Bailey on Salah this weekend, not giving Rodri handball 3 years ago which would have costed them the league…
5:45 That was some fence-sitting take right there Sure all managers complain to some extent, but we all know what jurgen klopp is like, hes on a whole other level. There is a video in the bundesliga almost about to take bite of a ref ear mike Tyson style.
As a liverpool fan, this does not surprise me in the slightest. In fact it makes me happy, because this now gives me a understanding into how we can have such horrific decisions against us, from this referee. This has been clear to me and all our fan base for a long long time, that there are decisions which are unexplainable by any reason other than personal allegiances / feelings from the officials. The game is corrupt, and PGMOL is full of idiots. Just have a look at some of the decisions this guy has given against us, Odegaard Basketball in his own box being one of them.
I honestly don't think this is really a big deal. The actual discussion that needs to be had is how unclear the English rules are and how inconsistently they are applied weather that is down to the refs or the rules themselves.
In my opinion, I do think it's a big deal because an official shouldn't be caught on camera bad mouthing a club and to a manager. Because it might make it seem that he has a hatred for liverpool
Could you talk about Romas downfall? From one of the craziest comeback against Barcelona to being bottom half of the table while having players like dovbyk and Dybala
What downfall? They've always been sh*t 😂 they had their cafu totti batistuta era and then they fell off. They've been a mediocre mid table/Europa league team for most people's entire life in this comment section... They sacked jose who propelled them into a title with a plan and a project and instead appointed an inexperienced de Rossi thinking it will magically solve everything... There was a bounce back and they had a decent run until this season de Rossi got exposed as an unqualified coach like frank lampard did and got sacked. Now they're just scrambling for pennies
@ if you’re born 2020 they have been a europa league team yes, but if you are born before that you will know that they have played pretty frequently in the champions league. They have put a lot of money in players and it never really worked out. It seems that you don’t know what a downfall really is. From playing champions league 5 seasons in a row to now sitting 12th in the table is a downfall in my eyes
Big problem with the English refs is they seem to prefer inserting themselves into the spotlight, as opposed to having a minimal impact on the game. I don’t really watch other leauge’s, but Champions leauge refs are nowhere near as talked about.
Super lig club presidents running on the pitch and punching referees from behind, super lig managers mma fighting their own players on the pitch... It's a zoo
The Premier league (and other leagues presumably) go through a lot of effort to create schedules and coordinate personnel in order to minimize bias from referees. Background checks and surveys are used to identify what clubs an official may be impartial to, and the league does their best to make sure that official and that club never cross paths. So the reason this guy was suspended isn't just that he's biased or whatever. Obviously, refs are football fans too and probably do support a premier league club a lot of the time. But it is on the referee to disclose this information if it is not already known, and they have an obligation to uphold the integrity of the game. Clearly, this ref hates liverpool. This ref was also an official in a liverpool game. That means, somewhere down the line, he did not properly disclose his personal biases, and the second video could potentially be evidence for proving that he knowingly withheld information with malicious intent, on top of the original offense. This is such a black-and-white case of a referee being compromised and he absolutely cannot be trusted to ever referee a game in England again. He's a shitty guy, but more importantly, he's a stupid guy.
nah man. his last match he refereed against liverpool they won 2-0. he can think of liverpol what he wants as long he uses the whistle fairly. and i think he does that since they won 2-0 last time
It hasn't affected them 😂+sports betting has always been a thing remember that WC/UCL scandal?now with Internet it's much more dangerous and easy to get caught. they don't get to bet and they would've been exposed. The corruption sample in referees is existant but so small it wouldn't affect the game as a whole. The reason referees are so 💩 is because they're all in their 40s starting to ref years and years before VAR was invented, remember VAR did not exist 5 years ago aka none of this referees were taught in school about var and now they're having to adapt and adjust along the way after a decade or 2 of career as an official. Also some rules are unclear
My opinion, bad as work ethics. But of course there are refs that hate the managers that scream in their face. It is exactly like if the ref is a teacher and the managers are students, but if the student gets a pass to slag off the teacher. And the teacher can say nothing back but will have negative feelings either way, affecting the grades. Also the society itself embraces alcoholism, and when someone messes up becasue of a drink, it is all of a sudden bad behavior and the dude isn't responsible. All it takes is drinking too much to either die, or be a brainless dumbass. Alcohol shouldn't be allowed, just because you are old doesn't mean you are responsible with drinking a literal brain poison, no one is. Responsibility is about what you are raised up as, not with age.
What’s the difference between keeping it to himself and expressing his opinion ? Big shocker guys but all refs are human and have thoughts like this. Do we just get rid of all human refs then ? I don’t get the fuss around this 🗣️
David Coote in this video, as well as the other guy, have dilated pupils, and their mannerisms are leading to the fact they’re high, and have taken some sort of drug(s). However, that’s still not an excuse for doing/saying what they said. But, on the other hand, every person is entitled to their own opinion on clubs/players/managers etc. Whoever leaked the video is very stupid in my opinion. The video took like 3-4 years to get leaked out, with context of Covid being mentioned in the video. That’s a very long time for a video to get leaked. Ultimately, the suspension pain investigation is the right decision, as an unbiased lower English league football fan.
2 things. 1. As an athete, you always learn to treat officials with respect because you don’t want to give them a reason to hate you. 2. Coote is an idiot for allowing for a video like this to be taken. He is also going against the number one rule of officiating: be impartial in your decisions.
If you want to see corruption watch the sociedad barcelona game lol. Var was based in Madrid. The Var referee was banned from whistling and is only allowed to take var and 4th official jobs BEFORE the game. And he makes that mistake. He took his time to watch the play. And 4 var refs decided it was offside. And ofcourse apologized afterwards for the "mistake". Ur telling me 4 people watching the offside all thought it was? Did barca play well nah. The team let the incident play with their head and never came back into the game.
I see nothing wrong with his statements. Looks like he had very bad experiences with Liverpol and especially with Klopp. And Klopp can get very nasty.
