not fair. Loosing the fun driving stock tyres and sliding!

1.2g is more fun! But these slicks were knackered and probably no better than a good track-day semi slick tyre. I picked up a whole set for £120. I use Michelin PS4 tyres on the road and in the wet, but they wear out far too quickly on the track in dry weather, and cost about £150/wheel. In the middle I use nankang NS2R, which are cheap and last well on track in the dry.

Hey Mike, what have you used for your lap times, revs and Speedo ?

RaceChrono iPhone app, combined with Bluetooth OBD2 reader and an external Bluetooth gps. It’s a great setup for the money, the external gps was definately worth adding.

Nice setup. How do you rate the B14’s for track work? Big upgrade over standard suspension?

They’re a bit of a compromise between being a bit too firm for the road and too soft for track to be honest. But they do ride well and aren’t crashy like cheaper shocks. If buying new I’d be tempted by HSD monopro for a similar price. I picked up my Bilsteins cheap used on eBay. Best upgrade by far is the brake conversion :)

@@Trackdayist Interesting. You get the same monotube technology with the HSD’s and also damper adjustment, but do you get the build quality of Bilstein I wonder. Yes those brackets you sell look the nuts. I’ve just bought an R53S and the brakes are rubbish!

@@miniduds The HSDs on my e46 track car (with the stiffer spring option) are a much better ride than the Bilsteins, but then again my Bilsteins are some unknown origin used ones and I haven't yet had 'premium dampers on any cars to compare them too. One day I'll get some triple adjustable KW Clubsports but perhaps not when they cost more than another car.. Fitted an LSD recently so we'll see what difference that makes too.
