Because it isnt a meme. For muzzle loaders to work, powder needs to be placed in the pan, this acts like a fuse leading into the chamber. The paper thing was a self contained powder and projectile. So in the video you had double charged the weapon. A potentially lethal situation IRL.

I'm really late but with the blade runner gun, you can press down on the touchpad/stick to make it fire in railgun mode. It drains the battery (the thing on the front) and heats up the thermal clip (you can pull the bit on the right that looks like it's from a bolt action gun to access it) if the thermal clip overheats any you keep firing, the gun gets damaged and less accurate
Single actions in general put me in physical pain. It's genuinely uncomfortable if you have to reload them a lot, such as in take and hold. I'll take literally anything else, even the volcanic at least doesn't hurt your hand, even if it basically doesn't hurt anything else either...
Just in case you haven't figured it out yet: it is MUCH easier to load the lever-action rifles by holding them by the front and not by the grip. Gives you more comfortable angles to work with.
For once, I know more than a UA-camr. I know how to use a flintlock pistol. You were supposed to put the white thing on the metal tab you kept moving forward and back. The white thing was the fuse. The thing that pulled back when you fired and hit the metal tab was flint. That's why it's called flintlock. It uses flint to light the fuse on the steel tab, which then creates a flame that sets off the gunpowder, which creates the foward momentum that propels the round bullet. Basically a mini canon. Same principles. You load the gunpowder into the cannon, then the canon ball, make sure the ball is all the way in the canon, and light the fuse. I was very much into pirates and their weapons at one point. That of course was a few years ago, so I have entirely forgotten the names of the parts of the gun.
There isn't a fuse on flintlock pistols, the collision of the flint and steel causes a spark which lights powder on the pan, which lights the powder inside the barrel. I think you might be thinking about a matchlock.
6:16 bruh... the process to reload that flintlock is super easy. You pour the gunpowder in the barrel, then put ball in the top, then you use the pushrod to push it all down. That little paper thing you saw, that's gunpowder and a ball conveniently wrapped up for a fast reload. Btw you'll know when it's pushed all the way because the sound it makes when you push it down will get a higher tone. and then once that's finished, you pull back the hammer, fill up the pan with gunpowder, (you skipped that part and that's why it didn't fire) then pull back the frizzen, (the frizzen is the long, metal plate in front of the hammer: the hammer will strike the flint against it thus making sparks to light the gunpowder) and now it's ready to fire. 👍
You can tell he is just starting to get used to the controls and stuff, dont worry, we all started out the same. I could barely figure out how to turn safety off.
Without hearing this person's voice, I can just tell they're British. That music and those gestures are the most British thing I've seen in a long time
Hey on the flintlock I can’t speak from experience with the game, but I can speak from experience owning a flintlock, so idk how the game does it, but in real life you have to put powder in the flash pan. So the hammer holds the chert (the rock), it has three positions. One is fully forward which is the position it would be in after firing, second is the carry position which allows the hammer to be half cocked so the frizzen can be closed (I’ll get to that in a sec) and the trigger can not release the hammer in this position, and last is the fully cocked position. This is when the hammer is pulled back completely and is engaged with the trigger sear ready to be fired. The metal object that rotates forward is called the frizzen. The frizzen is hardened, high carbon steel. When it is in the closed position, which is pulled closest to the hammer, it holds the powder in place and is ready to be struck by the hammer. When the trigger is pulled it disengages the sear, allowing the hammer to fall forward. The chert then strikes the frizzen causing sparks. Those sparks come in contact with the powder being held in the flash pan. The flash pan is a small dished out area used to hold flash powder and there is a very small opening called a flash hole which allows the hot combustion gases to enter the chamber of the weapon. Once those sparks contact the flash powder they ignite and fire the weapon. So in summary I would imagine the game would need you too add powder to the flash pan as in real life the flintlock mechanism will not ignite the powder in the chamber without it. Thank you.
@@sammyers8106 technically speaking, you can. I've done it. To be fair, it was more "spawn first weapon, dump 2 mags, move to next gun" but it can be done
It looked like the flintlock paper wadding already had a ball in it. It was common to pre-make paper wadding with powder and a ball already twisted off inside the paper. You've got to dump a little powder in the flash pan to make it fire though ... the spark is made externally, so you have to pour a bit of powder in the little flashpan hole so it will ignite and jump into the chamber.
So you mean to tell me that this game not only allows you to pick up but also fire one of the quintessential cursed gun images? I want this game now. Gimme!

If you have actually shot a flintlock then you would know that the amount of powder he put in there caused it to become a pipe bomb especially for a small pistol like that and especially for how thin the barrel was too.
you've probably figured it out by now but hitting the right side of your touchpad will cycle the cylinder for the single-bullet-at-a-time loading guns, like the Lady's Companion doing the same input with a bolt action gun in your hand will let you operate the bolt while you're still holding the gun with both hands, too!
I know I am 1 year late but i still want to help. To load to flintlock pistol there is 2 ways, the civilian (Gunpowder flask and ball) and the military (Cartidge) 1. If you want to load it with the powder flash you start by pouring a little amount of powder into the barrel. 2. Then you put a ball (No cartridge) and ram it down until you can push it down further (If it does not touch the powder it can explode) 3. Then you pull the hammerback and pour some powder into the ''pan'' which is that small thing that sticks out on the right side of the gun (where the hammers strikes) and then close the ''frizzen'' that thing infront of the hammer that can be open and closed And then you pull the hammer back fully (if it isnt already done) and fire! 1. In the military version you first pull back the hammer, then you pour a little of its powder into the ''pan'' and close the ''frizzen''. 2. Then you pour the remaining powder into the barrel and put the cartridge in the barrel, and then ram it down. Then you pull back the hammer fully and fire.

It hurts my brain to see him cooking the ladies companion pepper box each time just to cycle it.
I thought I knew fear.
*Until I saw the first shotgun.*
Ah. A showcase of all the guns that decided to spawn for me in Take and Hold. I swear that bolt action pistol has a vendetta against me.
Ouch 😂
you've probably figured it out by now but hitting the right side of your touchpad will cycle the cylinder for the single-bullet-at-a-time loading guns, like the Lady's Companion
doing the same input with a bolt action gun in your hand will let you operate the bolt while you're still holding the gun with both hands, too!
Did know about the cylinder but not about the bolt action, thanks! Makes life lot easier 😁
Throwing guns in the trash and missing, mad respect
i love how you carefully make sure the weapon is unloaded when your done....only to fling it across the room!
2:52 this is a fallout 1/3/new vegas gun
2* not 3
Remember kids, when loading a flint or match lock weapon, always prime the flash pan
I know I am 1 year late but i still want to help.
To load to flintlock pistol there is 2 ways, the civilian (Gunpowder flask and ball) and the military (Cartidge)
1. If you want to load it with the powder flash you start by pouring a little amount of powder into the barrel.
2. Then you put a ball (No cartridge) and ram it down until you can push it down further (If it does not touch the powder it can explode)
3. Then you pull the hammerback and pour some powder into the ''pan'' which is that small thing that sticks out on the right side of the gun (where the hammers strikes) and then close the ''frizzen'' that thing infront of the hammer that can be open and closed
And then you pull the hammer back fully (if it isnt already done) and fire!
1. In the military version you first pull back the hammer, then you pour a little of its powder into the ''pan'' and close the ''frizzen''.
2. Then you pour the remaining powder into the barrel and put the cartridge in the barrel, and then ram it down.
Then you pull back the hammer fully and fire.
Wow, that's a detailed tutorial 😁
With the flint lock pistol, you have to fill the flash pan, the little spliff looking thing is your powder to propel the ball
I can’t believe how many good guns you threw into the bin! 🤬 Great video!
