I was clueless as what to do with the mass of rocks on the back. Your result is so realistic it’s truly on the next level.......and the one after that.
Great job, enjoyed how you worked your colors, they’re amazing colorful and yet so tasteful. Glad you went with green, they’re more toll like than blue, they look like their at home in caves and forests just wonderful.
Looks awesome, but it looks like you didn't shake the shade enough - it shouldn't come out all glossy like that unless it hasn't had the bejesus shaken out of it first to mix in the matting agent :)
GW washes are great...but fair warning, you will tip the bottle over eventually and spill them so probably best if you dispense some in a well for acrylic/water color palette.
Interesting to hear your take on the GW shades. I commented a few weeks ago asking about brushes and you had said 6mo is pretty good lifespan out of brushes. Due to the LGS stock I use exclusively GW stuff. I would rather hit the LGS instead of online just because... LGS. :) Not knowing any difference in washes that COULD be easier its a great tip to wash more thoroughly.
This is an simple but awsome job. I love your videos. How did you do the base? Is this a sand mixture glued before priming? or a texture paste kinda thing?
Look awesome as does all your models. I must say though your paint collection is quite impressive. What is your best advice on building up a good supply of paint. When I got back into modelling I started using GW paints but I'm transitioning over to Vallejo. Do you go in and buy several different reds or browns or whatever, or do you get the paints as you need them for a certain model?
He has a video on this. Buy vallejo. Buy the foundation colours you will almost always use and then add colours as you need them to build up a collection. You can always add a little bit of beige or black to a paint to lighten it so you don't need 10 different shades of red all at once. If you have been painting for a decent amount of time you likely know what colours you lean towards. Grab a triad for each of those and you will be sorted for most of your painting.
yess like it got do more flesh on thing like troolls the gren or blue make less humen and hole thing bout it make bad guy not like you see more as you post
I think this is the worst video posted on the channel. The tan skin looks great but the green flesh looks like it was slavered in a wash and then given the minimum highlighting to get it on the table. I know this project is a tabletop one so it's not going to go to the usual standard, which I'm not complaining about. The green skin doesn't fit your usual painting style and it suffers greatly for it. You can usually pick out any model painted by you. This is the first time I would struggle and I think it's the heavy use of GW washes. Maybe worth trying to paint something small twice once using the GW wash method and once using your usual method and see if you can see the difference in style. Might save some problems down the line where you have two clashing painting styles in your goblin lists.
That rocky back is AMAZING
These look amazing! The smooth transition between the tan and green was really great to see. Thanks!
whenever i feel my will to paint waning, a video like this is sure to get me fired up for it again. fantastic work
Very smooth finish on that skin tone!

Looks like the moonclan are building up, the models looks awesome.
These are lovely.
They really turned out awesome. I wasn’t sure that I’d like the green, but it worked very well with the other colors.

stunning!!!
Beautiful work!
Wow these turned out fantastic I love the transitions
Nice work, I love the rocks on the back.
Amazing! Love the style of video.
Very nice work Doc
Always love the vids from the Dr!
Your painting style is truly impressive...and the bases are superb!
I would love to see a tour of your miniature and model collection!
I really love your work, really want to work on my Dankhold Trolls now.
Fantastic

I admit I haven't been shaking much at all. I'm far to use to using actual inks which you don't want to shake.
@@ThePaintingClinic ha ha, true :) I found out the hard way, by default the shades are glossy and matting agent is added to matte them down :)
I like the rocky effect
This guy really rocks
That GW Shade seemed way glossier than any GW Shade I have ever used but I love how the Troggoths ended up looking at the end.
Citadel does make a gloss variant of their shades, maybe he used those?

I thought you might add some metallic colours to the rocky areas like mineral deposits.

Great job!
I like your version better than the standard blue ones GW Troggoth.
😶👍
WOW!!!!!!!!!
fantastic video ... what kind of camera do you use?
I thought your colour choices were great...These minis look fantastic. Cheers

Just a buy new color or two for each project and after several years you end up with a lot of paint.
did your klingon bird of prey model last?
Great video! How do you thin Vallejo model colors for the airbrush? Do you have a certain combo of thinner & flow-aid or straight water?
I use actual airbrush thinner. Vallejo can be finicky and I don't like to take chances.
Do you thin your paints with water or some sort of thinner?
Just water.
Thanks for answering, I really love your work bud.
Back in my days we had more blue ones! Young people don't.. you know what I mean 😂
Suuuuweeet!
Green onez ar' bests Orkz! ;)
But da red wunz go fasta!
Greenz da best!
is your painting technuque more layering or glazing? the only difference is how thinned out the paint is right? and how long did 1 troll took you?
The terms are interchangeable depending on the artist. I'd consider glazing far thinner. I don't keep track of painting time.
