I love the design of that inlay
Great Video, Thank you.
thank you . great tip
Thank you!
Crop circle inlays... Nice!
thank you Ben . after the cleanance you cut do you glue in the frets??
That silver looks amazing against the dark ebony. :)
What if the inlay is rather large like that bear you did? If the tangs don't have much wood to cling onto, doesn't that cause an issue?
I was thinking about the same. Apparently a drop of glue wouldn't be a major sin even for a wood tension puritan?
I had some success with filing off the barbs that are on the fret tang. Then glue.
Nice job! Curious what kind of finish you put over the silver to keep it from being scratched? I'm doing a bass neck with silver inlays. Round wound bass strings are particularly abrasive, and I don't want the silver to look like crap after just a short time of normal playing! Thank you!
I thought you were going to tell us to file off the spikey bits on the tang (at least the portion that goes into the inlaid area). Would that not work as well?
4:01 did a bit of inlay snap off?
tommyVega I saw it. I think that piece would've been covered by the fret anyways.
well....3 month too late...i cracked 3x2 cm inlay :)
These videos are perfect background while hand sanding. Very educational and otherwise. Gotta buy a shirt.
